Actually they specified two positions for Anthem I think the positions advertised simply stated that they were looking for people with experience in item balancing and loot systems, without naming Anthem specifically. Anybody got the links handy? I would love to go back and see the listings, but I remember it being under "Bioware" and not specifically Anthem. BioWare: Senior Systems Designer (Loot) BioWare is looking for an creative and passionate Senior Systems Designer with experience in Loot Systems to join our studio in either Austin or Edmonton to work on our newest IP Anthem. Building a truly great server side loot system, that is scalable, has modern concepts like streak-breaking, and easily modifiable data formats. A great loot system ensures that the players have predictable experiences that can be measured with data. BioWare: System Designer I (Item Creation and Design) BioWare is looking for an creative and passionate Systems Designer I with experience in Item Creation to join our studio in either Austin or Edmonton to work on our newest IP Anthem. This is an important role in a looter-shooter like Anthem. The System Designer is responsible for creating a system of itemization that players can understand, but they are also responsible for creating interesting and compelling choices with the combat team. They also ensure that the properties on items work in the way intended. BioWare: System Designer I (Store and Reward Pipeline) BioWare is looking for an creative and passionate Systems Designer I with experience in Store Management and Reward Pipelines to join our studio in either Austin or Edmonton to work on our newest IP Anthem. This role handles both store flow and creation, also ensuring not just the data that comes from managing the store, but also the flow of all rewards in the game, so the game has compelling rewards in every avenue offered by the experience. This role also reviews access to the types of items that come in through the pipeline to ensure (via data) that the players are getting what they want. BioWare: System Designer II (Combat Balance) BioWare is looking for an creative and passionate Systems Designer II with experience in Combat Balance to join our studio in either Austin or Edmonton to work on our newest IP Anthem. This role is responsible for moment to moment tuning of the game, ensuring that the player and monster abilities are equivalent in ways players understand. This role will work closely with the item designers to ensure their assumptions about the player power matches the awesome items in the game world.

I'm embarrassed I had to look up what ad-hominem mean't!!! *raises hand slowly*...you're not alone... ....i also wondered what the f**k that was sticking out from the side of that bat in your avy, but uhm, that is just his wing..... Hahaha, glad for that! I thought about it for a min or 2 before I looked it up, but then I just had to know. The bat pic was taken about 7 years ago. He was one of probably 500 bats lined up under the porch roof, 100 feet of bats looking down at you, old bats, baby bats, creeped me out pretty good. Due to all the crap and piss they produced I had to put up boards to keep them from roosting there, so of course they move to the ends of the house that I can't access!!!

Best that can happen is "Anthem 2" with the content that was promised in the bullshit "10 year Anthem plan". They have already said they have no plan to release an 'Anthem 2'. They plan to add content to the game that exists. Wonder if they still plan to do this over the course of the next 9 years?! Can't see it happening. I guess they'll see how many come back after the overhaul.

Does Bio have a choice? The studio shot itself in both feet and now needs a flotation device until rescue comes along. It's possible Cataclysm may include loot and progression improvements. If they do this right, hope remains alive.

Money decides. So, while EA has the intent, revenue realities can mean placing Anthem on life support.

I'm crossing all my limbs that they do hire some talented people and make this game what it should have been at launch. I love the game play, the environment, most everything about it save for a few things. It'd be nice to have loot that means something and that drops at a rate that makes people happy. Destiny found a balance with the loot for the most part, so did The Division, so my hope meter is high right now.

What is troubling for me is that Bioware is hiring folks for core mechanics of the game itself. Key features that should have been operating sufficiently from the jump.....(Loot) (Item Creation and design)...(Store and reward pipeline).....i will give combat balance some leeway because those types of things involve nerfing or buffing guns/enemies until you get that sweet balance on those aspects, but everything else?....those other topics touch on mechanics that are core critical features that affect the entire game flows of Anthem itself and proper planning and testing would have solved that well before the game released, but we know the dysfunctional development that Anthem has gone through which resulted in the state it is currently in. Only thing i can take away from this is that Bioware is committed to fixing this thing, but this is a different beast than Andromeda, with Andromeda sales tanked and there was no interest even for the proposed dlc....EA washed their hands with it and just took a "L" on it...with Anthem, they are hoping to make back money spent on patches and updates through micro transactions....if it wasn't for Anthem being a product making money for them on the back end of this, (micro transactions) i feel Anthem's support would have dropped off in a similar way in how Andromeda'a support was dropped. Hopefully they will get everything in working order.... i think what is keeping Anthem afloat is the one thing the team nailed which is gameplay and i think that is what matters most...if the core game is a blast to play, then folks will hang around until the team fixes everything else,....i haven't heard anybody really complain about the gameplay....

Such posts (if any) are made mostly in the 'Today in Anthem' thread. At present, it is indeed a useless subforum since only a third of the planned story is as of yet in the game, and 1) not enough lore has been established, and 2) not enough story has challenged the established lore to spark debate. Also at present, any 'lore' to discuss comes from funny documents found in freeplay.

No posts in the lore subforum here in a month! And? ...and so ends the saga of "where have all the players gone". Sad, very sad. I know for one I've been playing TD2 since their last patch as it makes the experience better for solo players. I'll put Anthem on the shelf until Bio figures out where they're going with it. Destiny 2 will be wiped from my HDD as they just introduced a massive nerf for weapons and gear that assists super regen. When will game companies learn that we don't want a long boring ass'd grind, we want to have fun.

One only has to look at Amazon pricing. Currently, it sits at 29.99. Down from 37.77. This game is running towards a fire sale.

I reckon they're probably trying to increase the player base as much as possible with the impending cataclysm, so their servers aren't ghost towns anymore.

I reckon they're probably trying to increase the player base as much as possible with the impending cataclysm, so their servers aren't ghost towns anymore. More likely is that the game has to become F2P and it's a rush to get rid of the remaining stock at whatever price possible. Retailers are giving a price cut of 10 dollars every couple of weeks now. We must be getting close to the F2P launch and that would explain why BW is silent, no tweets except maintenance in a month and no patches. They are working on the shop only and announcing it will kill any possible sales.

Yup that must be it. Just like TD2, Far cry New Dawn, Assassins creed Odyssey, Battlefield V, Kingdom of hearts 3 so on and so forth.

But I'll agree to "I told you so's" on the off chance it turns out to be true.

The last few times I've been on I've been the only one, or at least I couldn't get anybody to joing MP missions.
