No surprise, really.
This after they tossed ME to Montreal and pulled a lot of people off of DA4 to get Anthem out the door.
Meanwhile, 5 years have passed since DAI's release - and it looks like DA4 may be another 2-3 years away - while anything new in ME world is beyond the horizon.
The reality is that throwing all of their devs at Anthem at this point probably wouldn't help, anyway. Anthem desperately needs well-laid, cohesive plans and carefully crafted designs - not something thrown together by an army of people pulling in different directions.

It is now DA4's time to be the focus. More than enough time has been spent on Anthem already. Bioware cannot afford to release a rushed and flawed DA4 due to all its resources being used to try and fix Anthem.

As you stated in the OP, BioWare has already proven all these people wrong when they said Edmonton has people still working on Anthem while many work on DA4. If people are going to ignore the words from the devs themselves, then these people should just be ignored.

People are just becoming increasingly disgusted with corporate behaviour in general, not just in gaming. Also apparently ignoring Austin's input during development then leaving it up to mostly Austin to fix the game post development didn't score them many points with the public.

Also apparently ignoring Austin's input during development then leaving it up to mostly Austin to fix the game post development didn't score them many points with the public. This is kinda why, even though I'm not happy with how Anthems turned out, I'd rather just let Austin do what they can with the game. Ultimately, they're dealing with coding problems that they don't really have a full grasp on; and are probably learning as they go. It wouldn't shock me one bit if there's significant spaghetti code in Anthems coding. If the team believes in the game, and that they intend to make it better, so be it. At the end of the day, EA will be the ones deciding if the game continues to receive support; not BioWare. Anthem also needs to serve as a lesson to all devs that, if you're going to make a live-service looter shooter, you better have a team who's wholly dedicated to the game and know what they're doing.

Sad to say, but the Anthem subreddit has turned into a cesspit of epic proportions.
More than once I've had to correct people who said DA4 was confirmed to be 'Anthem with Dragons', not only there but on r/Games as well.

They should have the majority of the company work on DA4 and maybe a quarter working on the next ME game (planning it out and basically doing a rough draft type thing) and just have a VERY small amount of people fixing glitches on anthem and stuff. I would do it like this.
85% of staff and resources work on DA4 10% work on the next ME game 5% fix glitches on anthem
This is just my opinion though

I wonder if we will get more mass effect/Dragon age cross over since we know for a fact they are in the same universe.

I mean at this point the only thing BW can do is make DA4 as good as possible. They need a win. Just let anthem die. Don't put it on life support its never going to do well unless you pull everything into it. Its sad to say but anthem isn't worth saving.

If BioWare has any serious plans to fix Anthem, it has to be done by the Edmonton team and not by Austin. Figuring out someone else's spaghetti code and trying to fix it or add to it rarely goes well for even the most competent developer, so I wouldn't expect any significant changes or updates any time soon. On the other hand, if they are going to fix the game they need to hurry before the ever dwindling player base makes any such effort pointless.
Either way, something's going to give. Edmonton is supposed to develop Dragon Age 4, Austin is maintaining Star Wars: The Old Republic, and Anthem seems to be stuck between them. Unless they're hiring more talent, something's going to suffer.
As the story of Warframe shows, any game that is expected to offer continued live service and new content to go with it, for years to come, needs the full attention of a rather large dev team, and in the case of BioWare those devs would need to be diverted from DA4 and/or SWTOR. If Anthem ends up with a skeleton crew, all we can realistically expect is free play events and minor bug fixes and balance changes - not enough for any longevity given the dearth of content, eroding player base and numerous issues.
A no-win situation if I've ever seen one. But Anthem seems the most expendable one to me, so my suggestion would be to make it quick and painless...

People bought a game when they were promised it will keep being supported for a long time. If they cut all support right now, they might be facing legal repercussions on top of the absolutely destroyed reputation.

I didn't mean "pull the plug so that the game stops working because there's no more server to connect to" because yes, that would be the last nail into their reputation and lead to legal unpleasantness. But they could keep it running with a tiny skeleton crew (maybe 3 to 5 people) that basically just make sure that the servers don't spazz out and the automated freeplay events trigger as intended, keeping the game active in its current state without additional content or fixes, i.e. the same super-minimal life support MEAMP is running on with a rattling breath.

In my cycle, we didn't need to ask This thread is quite alright.
Anyway, I enjoy Anthem, and being a paying customer I'd like to see it improve and hopefully get some staying power. However, I'd burn its servers to ash if it meant getting another good Dragon Age game.

Hardly sounds like a success story to me if that's their end of life plan a handful of months out from launch.

What Anthem needs is the Final Fantasy XIV treatment. Keep the game running, give more in game currency for the store, stop all developement of the game though. And then hand Anthem to Respawn once Respawn are ready and let Respawn give the game a total overhaul. EA has the money to do that shit. They are probably tax evading as much as Activision... Activision pays nothing in taxes, appearantly, even better Activision are getting tax-money back... even if you do not buy and play their games you are still paying them
