I think for me, I liked the nuances of the Dialogue wheel. You had options that were respective to your characters background, their race, what inquisition perks you chose, and - though limited - prior experiences. I will admit, however, that there are limitations to such a system. The biggest one being that you don't get to have the full line that your character will speak on screen.

I loved DAIs crafting system. Something specific and unique to DAI which is something that I also hope returns for 4 pretty much as is. Its the only crafting system in a video game I actually like.

The crafting system and companions having distinct (but still somewhat customizable) looks.
Having four VAs was awesome - they all bring their own characterization to the Inquisitor, one will adopt a teasing tone, the next has a more dry wit, what sounds exasperated with one VA will sound angry with another, etc. Just provides more roleplaying opportunities.
Playable qunari(!!!!!!!). And other races.
Archers being really dynamic and interesting.
The PC getting permanently maimed. YES. I've been headcanoning this with Wardens and Hawkes for years, and it finally happened in canon: our protagonist is involved in 9909274716 battles and finally has an injury to show for it.
Scars in the CC, makeup for everyone in the CC, a variety of horns for qunari in the CC.

Although it wasn't implemented perfectly, the idea of the war table and that we could see and influence events happening across the country was really cool! It was nice to have a sense of the ripples left by the Inquisition's actions, although some of them would have been better handled by the player as opposed to having it resolved off screen. (looking at you Lavellan Clan!)

Just in general I want more flexible classes in general. Have everyone be able to engage in both melee and ranged combat. Have archers that can either switch to daggers (or something) at close range and warriors that can throw spears. That sort of thing...just don't know if those ideas would sound palatable to you.

I distinctly remembers archers in DA2 whipping out daggers for melee attacks when enemies got too close, even though they weren't actually equipped with daggers. And then there's DAI's Thousand Cuts.

Multiple voice actors to choose from was fantastic and I'd love them to do it again.
Crafting was good bring that back and develop it further, eg. More armour appearances, stats from mats, no tiers.
Beautiful maps/environments, DAI really elevated the visual quality of the world and I'd like to see that continue.
Multiple backgrounds, but built in from the beginning this time.
Iron Bull's personal quest and it's consequences in trespasser was fantastic. In da4 I'd like to see more choices showing consequences in the game you make them, as opposed to in the epilogue cards.
And of course DAI had a great cast of companions just like the previous games so obviously I'd like to see that back.

Having all four major races as playable.
The 3/3/3 class divide for the companions.
Non-companion romance stories alongside companion romances.

I liked the companions in DAI very much, they were well balanced and there was someone for every playstyle. And the advisors were great, would like to see that mechanic return, togetehr with an improved version of the war table.
Combat in DAI was fun imo, so that could come back.
Crafting and having a home that you can decorate and form, would be nice too.

A robust character creator. The abysmal cc of Andromeda, and the complete absence of one in Anthem was....most unpleasant.

Great thread, OP! You might do a things you didn't like that shouldn't survive to DA4 thread too.
In no particular order:
Combat + Skill/Abilities system (since they are tightly interlinked, need both together to survive in DA4)
Custom armor looks (extended to weapons too!)
Combat + Skill/Abilities system
Infinite capacity loot storage chest back at HQ
Combat + Skill/Abilities system
Respec at will: A way to reset skill point allocation (Tactician's Renewal)
Dragon bosses
Support for mods (at least on PC)
All races playable
Trials, for additional challenge

The level of depth in the CC. We need that back. In vanilla, your companions' looks stuck to a singular theme, no matter what you equipped them with. The Iron Bull choice and its consequences in Trespasser. DA4's story can only benefit from such an addition. Ability to play as any race. Including Qunari. The concept of big bad dragon bosses. I think it can be improved, but the idea is amazing. Race/Class dialogue options.

1. I appreciated the big fucking dragons and big fucking dragon fights! Pretty sure they will put both of those in the next game.
2. Also, "SURPRISE, I'm the Dalish Trickster god!" was pretty amazing, so more surprising surprises would be neat.
3. More titan related stuff.
4.A nice variety of romances, similar to the variety we got in DAI would be super amazing too.
5.Tiny cakes...where were they. Leliana said there were tiny cakes, she lied, so I want my tiny cakes in the next game.

liked the plethora of dialogue choices that the elf got. I think there should be as many for the dwarves and the qunari. I loved all the options; an elven mage with all the perks had a fireworks display of options and I effing loved it
After experiencing other CC's, DAI CC was 99% perfect (1% problem with hair but not game breaking by a long shot)
I'll think on it more.

(looking at you Lavellan Clan!) This Also having to choose different main quests:"Champions of the Just" or "In Hushed Whispers" And optional quests that will have some influence in the main quests:"Before the Dawn" and "Under Her Skin", but expand on that much more.
Edit: I like the idea of mounts, but make them useful and fast and do not interrupt banter.
