No thanks,it's Just too ambiguous as a weapon where You cannot predict whether that character You are knifing Will die or Will Be wounded, cause it's a knife it's Fatality Is up to what the writers Want.Better a dagger, which Is equally faster but more powerful,Duncan even give us an example on how more effective It is compared to a knife.

Murder dagger seems more Rogue focused than a knife, almost every class has a practical reason to have a murder knife. Rogue, throwing knife and back up weapon. Warrior, sneaky back up weapon that can catch enemies off guard (Notable example being Jaime Lannister in season 1 of Game of Thrones). Mage, back up weapon and useful ritual knife for blood magic.

I am hoping that they upgrade it to 'wood chipper' for the next game.

A player can't choose where to hit the opponent with the knife ,the scenes are completly scripted cause there Is no control over that weapon, unlike Jamie Lannister wich chosed a vital spot(tbh i don't like that scene..).It's up to the writer to choose what Will happen with the cinematic knife. Also i can't see why Warriors shouldn' Be able to use daggers.

The murder knife masquerades as an innocuous eating utensil, ubiquitous and unthreatening, until it leaps to the PC's hand. Then it is the Angel of Death, in a more setting-appropriate way, ending the annoyance or inconvenience then, mystically clean, it returns to its sheath, ready to ferry chunks of meat and potatoes--and perhaps the odd bit of fruit--to your character's mouth once again. Daggers are for back-stabbery, not ending conversations.

Killing during a conversation - if the situation merits it, yes please. I'd prefer a murder spell though if you're a mage.

It’s very useful, and convenient, and there when you need it... it’s a great conversation killer haha Me honestly can’t imagine going anywhere without that murder knife, what else would I use other than a surprise fireball to the eyeballs

Sure.
Why not?
As long as it made sense in the situations it used in.

I'm currently doing a re-run of Origins and the DLC's, and had no idea how much I missed this. My current Warden -a Human Male Noble- Loves his blade so much, he's whipped it out about four times. Ah good times.
