That's how you know they are truly Belgian..it's a very special kind of humor.
wait...Larian is Belgian? How do I not know that?
Though I can confirm that both Belgians and Dutch people have a certain type of humor...I sure do at any rate
just...not so much with blood...blood creeps me out

About creepiness: I found the teahouse very creepy and that cave with the spiders (but that's because I don't like spiders) and the beginning of course. The way you get Us is pretty damn creepy. But apart from that, it's a pretty standard fantasy setting and story.
I'm in the Underdark now and really love the environment there. It looks so lively and nice and a bit dangerous at the same time.

The Underdark is amazing, my favorite part in term of vista in the game. I hope we get to visit other Underdark area later in the game.

I agree, it's so amazing. And I like, how the Mykonids communicate with you. I love the Underdark so much.

Yeah the underdark is easily one of the most beautifully designed areas imo, I also love the illusion over the swamp with all the little uhh "sheep". I'd really love some type of picture mode where we can zoom in from a 3rd person perspective and take screenshots.

I like the CC, but I think, a few more options would be nice.
So far, I love that game, it's really very atmospheric and nicely done. I haven't had too many trouble, only some glitches during fights, when an enemy would take ages to finish their rounds and in teh Underdark, I get stuck a lot - mostly when the Bulette is swooshing by. Then my group goes to turn-based and I can't get out of it. So I save a lot in the Underdark, But other than that, great game, interesting story and tons of fun stuff to do. I really hope, we will get (story spoilers maybe, so I hide it)
Halsin and Karlach as companions ... maybe Minthara instead of Halsin if you play evil - not that I'm very fond of Minthara, I always kill her, but she does seem to have a huge fanbase. I like the Tiefling bard Alfira too, but I think, Karlach is confirmed as companion and they probably won't give us two Tiefling companions (imo you can't have too many Tieflings in the group but oh well)

WoTC had him and Boo turned into a statue in a comic and 100 years later the spell was removed and he was free to roam around.
It happened a few years ago and in setting it's been over a decade.
They did that to a few settings NPC they didn't want to lose...and even resurrected some (i.e. Drizzt's dead companions were all reincarnated with their full memories).
Ranger with uncontrolable berezerk isn't that good, you could play BG1 tankless and rely on ranged attacks, or you could play with Jaheria, Khalid, or Yeslick as pretty good tanks. Not to mention Kagain on the evil side, and also Dorn while not really that good, is still better than Misnc. Still, he had Dynaheir, which is the best good aligned mage in BG1, so he saw more use than in BG2.
On SoD you kinda forced to take him if you're good.
In BG2 he's vastly overshadowed by Keldorn as he can't carry Carsomir. Anomen is a superior tank, and even I prefer Valygar and HaerDalis (budget fighter/mage). On the evil side, he has Dorn and Korgan to compete with...
So nah, I almost never took him in BG2. I kinda hope Larian will make him useful. He has a really beautiful ending slide though.
You gotta rise up, like a phoenix through, some mother f***ing flame!

We seem to be the minority, everyone else seems to like Minsc. I always killed him off in BG1 to keep Dynaheir without him. In BG 2, I send him away as soon, as I leave Irenicus Dungeon.

I liked Minsc when I first played the trilogy when I was like 12 years old.
When I started replaying the trilogy in my 30s I could only shake my head to the point of possible neck problems. Terrible character.
Though I have to say my opinion of the trilogy has changed like this in more regards. I thought the evil options were really, really cool when I was 12 years old. Now they just make me laugh. Pointless, cartoonish evil.
I can see why some people would want improvements for the evil route. However, for my own playthroughs I won't be siding with the goblins regardless of what they add to that route.

Quick question for those who've played both this game and Pillars of Eternity.
Which has the 'harder' combat?

hmm, Pillars of Eternity but only because - the view angle is terrible and sometimes you can't see anything - RTwP vs turn-based - POE DR vs damage is crap - BGIII is way easier to abuse once you learned how the system works - there is a lot less forced combat encounters in BGIII (i.e. most encounters can be talked through if you succeed your DC).
Saying that, the first time you'll go adventuring in BGIII, you'll have a terrible time staying alive...ahahahahaha. There is a steep learn2play if you don't know 5e.

Cheers - learn2play is currently my jam with CK3, albeit in a very different type of game. Should be fun, when it comes out of EA.

POE, hands down. Winner! There's no fun in it and all the problems listed by azarhal .
I wouldn't say there is no fun in it, shredding enemies while spirit shifted is pretty fun, but yeah, combat ends up being a chore more often than not. A big part of it is that most encounters are higher level than you with adds by design unless you do quests in a very specific order. And there is still a gap as the highest enemy level in POE with expansion is 21, while the party cap at 16.
In BG3, there is no encounters that wouldn't fit in a pnp session, except maybe the Gith Patrol but you can beat it with some creativity after faceplanting once on it. The dev screwed with the pnp balance thought, so some stuff is a bit harder than the paper version. They reverted some of it back in the latest patch I believe (I haven't played since it dropped). But the main attraction over POE is that you can be creative in BG3. You got pinned down in the middle of a room? Cast darkness on your party, that will stop enemies from targeting you with ranged attacks, while you just have to go out-in the spell area to target them. Silence, oh I love the silence spell.
Hell, I even had Lae'zel threw the party members over a chiasm once because they couldn't make the jump.
