I remember that in Origins that we had a more varied choice when it came to armors; Massive, heavy, medium and light. Would you like to see a return to this and more customization when it comes to what our player characters will wear.

I liked how AC: Odyssey handled gear, quick-switch gear sets, and wouldn't mind seeing something similar in DA4.
In ACOD, you could change the appearance of any piece of gear to any other one that you owned. You didn't even need to go to a crafting station, you could just make the change from your inventory menu.
More variety is always good, though naturally that'll come down to what scope will allow. I remember a BW Dev talked about how they wished they could've had more gear variety in DA:I, but the asset limitations of the older consoles prevented that. And there may have been other reasons as well.
That said, I thought the tinting station in DA:I was a great touch.

I liked the gear sets in Horizon Zero Dawn more than AC: Odd, except I did like control over head pieces in AC Odd more than the "stuck with it" in HZD.
I didn't mind looking like Xena the Warrior Princess but I liked the color and how light some of the armors were for an archer such as Aloy. I also liked that there wasnt boob armor/chest pieces, which I think AC: Odd was guilty of.

I also liked that there wasnt boob armor/chest pieces, which I think AC: Odd was guilty of. I haven't played H:ZD (there's gonna a PC release some day, right? Right? ), so I'm not familiar with how they handle gear. As far a boob-armor goes, I wouldn't consider ACOD was guilty of that (not that I have a particular opposition to it... ). But I can think of maybe one set in the entire game. Unless you count running around in your underwear... But DA has been gravitating towards more distinct designs for their gear (and away from generic renaissance styles) anyway.

This, and expand upon the Masterwork runes so that they provide more game-altering effects. Also, make the means at which you obtain said Masterworks much more intentional.

As to the matter at hand I am fairly ambivalent. The inquisition system was fine. I'd only change it by getting rid of the class restrictions (since I don't like those) by giving all classes the ability to wear all armors or by eliminating the differences in the first place.

At least I have the excuse of not having played DAO in a long while. Regarding the armors: I don't really have much of an opinion, but I can say I want to have gauntlets and greaves back as separate, lootable armor pieces (I don't remember them being such in DAI). Otherwise, I'll take the rest of DAI's system but improved where needed (obviously...)

I'm sure that most players wouldn't want to go back to the old DAO style fatigue system, but they could add that back in for the trial mode. If you play with the trial on, stamina/mana costs are increased and regen much slower, depending on armour type.

Transmog. The Companions look roughly the same all game long while having increasing armor and bonuses, allow the PC to do the same. Imagine tanking a High Dragon in your PJs.

That's pretty much what I'm doing in AC:OD right now. The "murderous rice farmer" is my favorite look in the game right now (but is actually top-tier assassin gear). That sun hat alone was worth the small mountain of gold it cost to get. It'd be great if we had some... unassuming appearance options in DA4.

I like the robe to return. The armor in DAO was alright. And as I've mentioned over the last several years, even before DAI was announced, have Flemeth's armor for the main character.

One thing I'd like to see go away is the number of viable armor styles going down as the game progresses. Some interesting looks go away after tier 1, others after tier 2.

Wait... What the heck is a Spartan in Greece doing with a Japanese katana?! Also as pertains to the topic... It's interesting to note that each individual DA game has handled both its combat system and its armor system vastly different from each other. In Origins you essentially have only 5 real armor shapes, just with various colors and textures plastered on top depending on tier and unique perks for specific sets. There were cloth robes, light leathers, medium metals, heavy metals, and massive metals. Only say the Templar armor were in any way unique, and even then was just a mashup of massive and cloth. The game offset this by allowing any class to wear any armor (baring sub-class restrictions) so long as you had the requisite stats. Dragon Age II by contrast had far more variety in terms of shapes unique to specific armor sets (though still having the generic rng sets you'd get as enemy loot), but restricting most gear by class AND having certain sets only be available to specific class playthroughs, since you could only gear YOUR character and it would have been a waste to give you armor meant for the wrong class (without mods, anyway). Finally, we have Inquisition which focused heavily on crafted sets and doing away with the set bonuses in both previous games. There were, however, only three options for armor aesthetics (mislabeled, by the way) no matter your class if you wanted it to be modular and not a single onsie set. It did, however, allow for the removal of class restrictions depending on the material used to craft. So each game has had its strengths and drawbacks, being both free and limiting at the same time. I expect Dread Wolf Rises (or whatever they want to call it) will likely be similar, taking some unique approach to armor sets while still having its own set of restrictions that seem a bit nonsensical. I imagine the crafting focus will return, but the variety of shapes (viable or otherwise) is still up for perusal.

Wait... What the heck is a Spartan in Greece doing with a Japanese katana?! It's a one-off legendary katana called "The Blade of Yumminess" that has a random chance of showing up in blacksmith's store. Whenever there's something weird in the game, I just say, "The Isu did it."
