Didn't Shepard officially sign off and hand things over to Ryder?
Can't really sign off, then sign back on again.

Wasn't that said when the ship was leaving? It left before the events of ME3. That means Shepard still is signed on, at least for ME3.

Up until ME3. But afterwards, he would retire.

I do believe times have changed and Bioware is in need of a drastic solution. The return of ME's most iconic character along with the crew that elevated ME OT to its legendary status is a sure fire ticket to the studios survival, more than it is a source of contention. You may not like it as a solution, but it would be the least negatively impacted title Bioware would be able to make in the ME universe. If you believe that they still shouldn't make a return to the MW with Shepard, then I strongly suggest that Bioware, for their own sake, stay away from Mass Effect for the foreseeable future. If they even do have something else up their sleeves to help them trudge along for that long. I just dont see that as a viable solution. It's going backwards imo.

I just dont see that as a viable solution Making a decision that will legitimately sell copies of your game is not a viable solution, where one that won't sell as many copies is. It's going backwards imo. Going backwards isn't a bad idea, when the thing you went forward with last time failed. Up until ME3. But afterwards, he would retire. So would the Chief. And now we're at Halo 5.

John, or any of the Spartan IIs really, would never retire. It’s not in their nature. Neither is it in Shepard's nature to retire. Many player’s Shepards didn’t retire. They expired. Also whether it’s in Shepard’s nature is up to the player since there are dialogue options that talk about stuff like that.

Many player’s Shepards didn’t retire. They expired. So did ME2 Shepards, but that didn't stop Bioware from making an ME3 with Shepard. Also whether it’s in Shepard’s nature is up to the player since there are dialogue options that talk about stuff like that. Sure. Just like they made horrible stuff, like letting people die in a burning refinery in Zaeed's mission and then have PTSD dreams over a rando kiddo that got blown up. Anything can be shoehorned to fit a narrative.

Going backwards is a bad thing imo. Going backwards in sales is worse, trust me on that one. Shepard stated many times that he/she would like to retire after the war. Shepard, we need you againShepard gets off his beach lounge chair and gets in his N7 armor againInspirational musac plays

I have a whole trilogy for Shep. His/her time is done.

if its ME most fans will buy it I think there are a lot less ME fans that will buy it, without an added hook, a lot of people that will check it out because Shepard is back and a lot of people who want to know what the hubbub about ME was in the first place. ME3 will be at least 11 years old by the time the next ME rolls out. The zoomers will have seen the Andromeda memes and the Pewdiepie vid and stay away from Andromeda, but OT related ME? People will get actively down with that.

Pewdiepie is just one person with an opinion and his video was laced with bias and negativity. Before you say how many likes he has or followers I know he's popular. Most of the negative crowd on youtube is.

I think he was genuinely disappointed by Andromeda and wanted a better game out of it. I don't think he made an Anthem video, though. I think he is a fan of Mass Effect. If not Bioware.
