Are we ever gonna get that part of the story ( see Title)? I was hoping the 'pending Urgoth Invasion" would be part of the Cataclysm....That would make it super-cool. I hope they don't drop the ball on that and leave loose ends.

If it turns out the core development team has disbanded either because of DA4 or because of the bad reception we won't get there.
Also, a thought I've had now that we're on the subject. The Kotaku disaster report went into how the project had various different lead writers over its course, one of them David Gaider. He said he suspected they had scrapped all that he worked on because it abandoned that direction. Now, the core plot in Anthem itself was decent but a bit of a "First draft" kind of plot. The section where Owen's major character development happens is a little undercooked and a little strange. That made me think this story, even as it launched was somewhat scrambled together, not without hard work but not that unified vision either, which, as Mass Effect 3 almost showed should be possible within that 1.5 year cycle (18 months).
So what I thought as the very first thing getting to the post-game was: Okay, this Urgoth myth starts to make the whole tone of the lore seem more Dragon Agey to me. The question is, is the Urgoth section of the story perhaps just scraps from David Gaider's Anthem lore? Could it be that because they had nothing for a chapter 2 ready baked, they said "Let's repurpose that old vision into the second act?". Just a thought.

One of the things also covered in the Schreier article was that P-cap, or precision capture, used to motion capture facial animations and such for Anthem was expensive and that Bioware had limited time access to it, so if there are story elements coming and they have some implemented in the Cataclysm, they wouldn't waste it for a few lines alone, you get me? I think they already have that part done and that's not just me being optimistic. What worries me, though, is what is there next? A new Urgoth dungeon at the end of the post Cataclysm two week event? Urgoth appearing as enemies out on the world map? It's not going to keep people playing. Bioware should, like I've said before, make an announcement for what they've got planned further down the line.

I would like to see (some sort of) an Urgoth Invasion....Maybe, as Sirpetakus said above "Urgoth appearing as enemies out on the World map".....Maybe far to the North, seen as this seemingly 'unknown force' that we first have to investigate as Players and maybe have a few fleeting encounters thinking "what are these things??" Then we gather evidence and pieace together the realization that the Urgoth are on our doorstep as we remember that Tassyn has a corpse in the basement.....That tied into the two week Cataclysm World-Changing Storm that we just finished (I think) would make for a very cool Second Act.
But I do agree, The Devs should roll out some kind of Story Map of what we can expect in the months to come instead of uploading a ton of minor fixes and changes the the playability aspect (changes in Damage/Health, Weapons etc etc). That doesn't actually add anything *NEW* and exciting, it's just modifying what is already there.
I'm looking, hoping, waiting for.....Actually NEW Content (Story Content) that continues the story of the main game (But does so Post-Cataclysm). They've said the Cataclysm is a "World-Changing" event.....Well, let's see it: Does the geography change due to the violence of the Cataclysm? Are there new enemies that have been released out of the Cataclysm? Are there new areas to explore because of the changes in the landscape? Can we explore further into Fort Tarsis (OPEN those gates which are currently locked! Let us go down or out into the areas which we can see, but not currently explore. Let us discover more of the mysteries and history that surround Fort Tarsis). Are questions answered from previous content that tie everything together?
These are all things that I am hoping for in terms of future content........
