well that's what I get for being over confident. And I died twice. That's happened to me a few times. Don't get cocky, would appear to apply...

Woot I got the blueprint for the M1911. Woot woot I finally got a purple weapon from buying it from Maria's shop...at least two of them. Though I don't know why I should care the rarities are kind of useless anyways. So it was an extremely frustrating sequence of missions but it was also some really delicate Special Forces work. So the first part of the mission took me to the base of Gibson, that one dude who apparently was the one mainly responsible for Sigrid Bloom's capture. The first attempt I shot at him thinking that it would just be like any intel guy...instead it was just like any other commander guy instead. So he died. Mission failed. Second attempt I got blown so shot him in the chest with the P-90, he died, mission over. I finally was able to get him by crawling on the roof of the building, not the guard tower, which let me snipe the people down in the actual base or funnel them up to me where I could SMG them. Pretty much cleared out the base, dropped down a flashbang, and then interrogated him. He led me to a prisoner convoy where the woman was. It did its normal glitch thing and well, thought it would behave like the stuff from Wildlands...and then the truck blew up. But then the good news was I was able to shoot the driver actually which was epic...but then more vehicles kept spawning in which was not as awesome. Still I did have a lot of fun actually pulling off a precise shot like that. And it made my day when Dr. Bloom called Nomad 'Secret Squirel.'

Finally onto getting around to hunting down Rosebud. First area was towards the back of Whalers bay, it was a little campussey area. For awhile I thought I was all alone and could move in but the red fog of war just slowly popped up...as it does in this game. First attempt I parked at the front of the building which didn't give me good sight lines because of the trees so I moved down after it, and then around on the flank. I spied there was a ridge behind the place so I figured it would be a good place to go...but it wigged out. Second attempt I was able to get up there and look down above them, good sightlines, got the sniper and the com guy...issue was I forgot to put my suppressor back on the rifle. So it was a very loud shot. And led to quite a firefight.
Second area was this fishing village on the coast...with more bad guys. But things went pretty smoothly. Which eventually led me to a Wolf base.

I am still chasing down on old kamikaze. How many parts does this mission have? Really? Granted in the week I have played Anthem but still. Sure yesterday it lead me to clearing a wolf base and i could have just snuck in to get the intel after a couple of kills but where is the fun in that? And there was 2 skill points in that base. Anyway level 29.

I *want* to be all ninja ghost assassin, only killing a couple of guards, sneaking in, then leaving without anyone the wiser...but I also have to secure all the loot! Lol. Also contradicts with my sniping desires.

So last night was pretty fun and probably the best time I've had with the game this week. First up. The Wolf Camp where Rosebud was set up. The first time I died because of my stupidity...I didn't have clear eyes on her but I *assumed* I had a straight shot or could penetrate what cover she was behind...and I wasn't able to. So this alerted everyone, got cornered by drones...and it was a mess. But other than that what a neat little base! Kind of a bowl in the Earth with alot of guard towers and just Snipers everywhere. While me and Rosebud didn't quite have the Enemy at the Gates or American Sniper Sniper battle I was hoping for it was fun. I mean I was able to find a place and shoot her dead in one shot then worked my way around the perimeter sniping the enemy snipers as I went, then I took out the drone...the bad news about all of this is that her special sniper can't be suppressed. And its bolt action. A perfect set up for me to maybe carry two sniper rifles but alas...no. Not really anyways, maybe worth experimenting with later anyways but then again with me playing solo so much can't really afford two sniper rifles in my loadout. But that was fun.
My time was almost up and I was doing the Elite Mission 'Fake News'...and I completed my first Elite Faction Mission. But that was fun. I was all like 'dammit almost time to log off and I know its going to be in an area with a shit ton of enemies.' And my wife was like 'aww it won't hurt being a little far over' (so far it hasn't) so yeah snuck in there all sniper like and started pegging away at targets quite successfully. I actually thought about being ninja ghost for a bit but had a couple moments of panic...I mean I guess I forgot to put the suprressor on the 416 so someone heard me kill the guy who I had to get through in the building and then when I was hacking had to kill the guy rushing in, boy was that close...then I had to defend the area because it was one of these 'defend the area while we finish the hack' things.
Also am writing small GR fanfiction.

I suppose it had to happen though I don't know why and I am a little concerned but then I was on for a long time today...I have been excited at this game...frustrated by this game...today was the first time I got a little bored with it. Not sure if its my fault but not sure what else to play for at this point other then jut grinding the gear score and finishing the game obviously. But that was at the end of a 6 hour play session that was going on for a bit... But before that I was having quite the blast. And given this is a six hour play session I'll probably remember things as I go along. Actually I think part of the problem is I am just doing the missions and not actually clearing out these bases. I mean it works but being super secret ninja assassin leaves few people shooting back at me. Anyways what I think was first is I decided to do some of the Elite mission for the Outcasts to get me warmed up today. As a coincedence it took me to an area that was related to the side mission 'the meeting' which was a level 200+ but the area I was at then clearly was not...so I killed pretty much everyone in the area as per the Elite Mission...and that succeeded that...but when I moved in I failed the side mission because I killed the guy I was supposed to interrogate...even though it gave me no indication. Second attempt went much better in that regard. He gave me the locations on two more of his compatriots...which led me to a second area and then that also had a Faction Mission in it, rescuing a prisonder. Long story short got into a bit of a fire fight where I pulled off one of the most amazing shots ever. There was this regular Foot Mobile just charing at me using the terrain to his advantage. he was darting across a blue trashcan...I put the crosshairs just beyond it and pulled the trigger even though I could not see him...and he ran right into the bullet. Righteous shot. So I was feeling all cock of the walk, I got the guy out in a helicopter and was feeling very happy...when I landed on top of a motorcycle, which exploded it, the helo, killed the guy, and yet I was perfectly ok...*sigh*. That was annoying. Anyways eventually I tracked the 'meeting' to a level 200 Wolf base. The officer 'Meridian' was a heavy...well didn't feel like taking on a level 200 Wolf camp (I'm still in the 150s) but it was a pretty easy shot. Synch shotted the officer, and then lined up two headshots on the sniper before bugging the hell out with mortars exploding behind me...again...glorious. Afterwards I was annoyed to discover that the part of the Kamikaze I was stuck on wasn't IN Camp Red Tiger but NEAR Red Tiger...the Wolf Camp. Boy was I mad. But I still decided to tangle with the Wolves anyways and I think this is where I set my new record, I am now up to 569 meters sniper shot. Wiped out this patrol before I started on the base. Man the Wolf helmets make a very satisfying sound when you hit them. I was just able to sit up there and just peg them as they came up. But I got them. As an aside I also got a G28 DMR and having a G28 as a close in weapon actually has a lot of potential...thing kicks when its on burst fire but that means if you are properly aligned for the chest the mussle climb will just let it take out the head. Eco Warriors was pretty quick... More bad luck on Faction missions. I had a 'locate sentinel commander' and assumed it was an assassination mission when it was an extraction mission. So I killed him...tried it again...and then got him back pretty much with no issues. I do like it that a lot of the Wildlands main story missions has been relegated to the side and faction missions. That is pretty much all of the interesting things I did. Up next...Cape North to start the next segment of the main campaign.

Yesterday I decided to focus on the factions. Got the war never ends achievement for finishing eight faction missions in a day. I have also noticed a lot more explosions going on. So we're in chapter two where the outcasts have begun blowing Sentinel stuff up. Instead of bee discussion I come across a lot of burned out Sentinel vehicles. Coll World building, interesting to see where it all will go in the future. f!Nomad is GS 180, level 30 and one challenge away from rank 10 field medic. Need to use Another SMG than the Scorpion CQC becuase the ROF is making it nigh impossible to be conservative with the bullets.

So I decided to play more Breakpoint afterall, I was having so much fun talking about it that I went back to it. And I had fun, but also one of the weirdest missions I've ever played.
It was up at the AI campus for the next story mission. I was sneaking in like normal but their was a main road running adjacent to it. And there was a convoy heading on it so with all my successes of late I decided to hit it, and I hit it good. I think I got the MK 14 DMR from it. But it alerted some of the guards in the perimeter from where I was standing.
My plan from there was to get on one of the campus roofs...that didn't go as planned as I fell into the lake surrounding the place and had to swim all the way around by the main building. Infiltrated, got caught, shit broke out, but got through it.
I am really digging the new combination I have found with the DMR and sniper as two main guns. The MK 14 has a full auto option, but I don't use it preferring to keep things nice and one shot but it's nice essentially going back 60 years to WW2. I also got to rank 9 in Sharpshooter.

So Cape North is officially the most annoying map in the game. Reminds me a lot of the Caimanes or where La Santera was parked. Just...bad. no real place to snipe and the forest leads RIGHT UP TO your objectives.
Still loving the Mk. 14/ M82 combo I got going. Got into quite a firefight in this harbor cave that was well guarded. Man getting to level 10 Sharpshooter is going to be a bitch.

I type things, and then they happen, lol. Or the opposite of what I say happens...happens. I did forget to mention I finally got my hands on a Gold level Barret last night. So all three of my weapons were...brifly at least...at gold level. So lets see after a brief little mission defending and escorting Cromwell I was able to finally get out of Cape North and head back for the main island. Which was quite a boon. So somehow I stumbled on completing the challenge that I thought would be the hardest for Sharpshooter level 10. Killing 20 enemies while remaining undetected...in a row essentially. After thatas fortune would have it the first...no second area...that she sent me on actually was able to go high and deep and started to snipe. I did pull off the two headshots for it at 250 meters which just leaves me killing anyone at for hundred fity meters plus. Shouldn't be too much of an issue honestly just need to find some wiiiidddeeee oppppeeeen spppaccceees. With good sight lines. Right now I think Iam going to have to go after Ian Blake soon though I wrapped up on a weird faction mission that had me destroy a weapon stockpile.

Long post time given everything I was up to. Lets see where to begin? I think I began by hunting down Ian Blake. Of course had to track down the guy with the intelligence in the area. Up first was a port in Cape North, given that the ports of the gave have been some of my favorite areas, I was actually quite looking forward to it despite the location in Cape North. I was not dissapointed. Even though there was plenty of woodland leading right up to the port there was good sightlines still, I slowly aimed and cleared out one side with the Barret and then even though I usually would go after the survivors on foot I noticed the the hill I was on literally rounded the perimeter of the property, so I moseyed on to its flank which was a lot closer yet flanked many of them and gave me much better covering fire. I was able to wipe out most of the rest of the hostiles in the area before moving in. I got the intelligence which led me to yet another area. This one was some of those Wiiiidddddeeee Oppeeennn Sppppacccess that I was hoping for. It was up in Silent Mountain and there was a bit of a facility that had an underground portion, but there was a helicopter pad on the top end. This was right on the edge it seems of what the game was able to render, when I went in with a drone it popped in but when I looked in my rifle scope, I couldn't see him, moseying about for a little bit I finally was able to get at him and he was able to render...568 meters away...one meter beyond my current record. I aligned my sights and fired, it took the guy in one shot killing him...the shot that sent me to level 10 in Sharpshooter was my longest shot ever. Which also gave me access to the Scorpion Scout...which Willy B over on Yotube claimed was the best sniper ever...as a DMR. It probably needs specific perks though because when I used it no two shots would even come close to having the same trajectory which is...very frustrating for a sniper. So I quickly abandoned it and moved in on foot to clear out the underground area. Eventually I tracked down Ian to his base which was a fun little sprawling facility, more intel to see exactly where he was though and he was in this little two story building at one corner of the base. Which he called me by name and I was able to subdue him and get the biometric information I needed. Back to Christina I bumped into Maddux and we all mused on the nature of Transhumanism. Afterwards I just focused on doing faction missions. I wanted to get the trophy done where you complete eight in a day. I did so. Though then I failed one because of the game doing complete and utter bull crap again. *ahem*. Then this did lead to one of my new favorite conversations in the entire game. I got to talk to Rowan, the master of the PVP Ghost War Experience, about his military experience...which turned into a conversation about his. And some much beloved military factoids and things came out. Rowan was with the 10th Mountain Div (based in Colorado) and then you could tell him YOUR unit you were with before being with the Ghosts. And there was a lot of them actually but you could first of all answer him 'sorry secret squirell shit' which was hilarious, but my Nomad chose to answer Delta Force...which answers one of my headcanons...and then Nomad mentioned 'yeah I spent some time in The Unit', which does tend to apparently confirm that 'the Unit' is actually an unofficial nickname for Delta Force, and the name of the show loosely based on Delta Force. Just such a tickled pink conversation. I actually went back and replayed the whole thing so I could get video of it because the first time someone actually invited to play with them... Which will probably be the last time I play with randos. No gurantees but we did not have any team cohesion he wasn't using comms so I couldn't and so we couldn't coordinate...and then he was doing a mission in a helicopter which made me die twice...so I left and he tried inviting me again! I mean maybe I shouldn't have just sat there in the gunner seat bored and helpless and just sniped on foot while he lobbed rockets in...but meh. Went back to more faction missions which is pretty much where I left off. So yeah my first spoilered comment but it is worth it... So this game is actually doing interesting things in one way, the dichtonomy and interplay with Skell and Walker is actually very interesting. On the one hand Walker had a cutscene when Nomad was talking with Maddux about how people who save the world might not always do the right thing and then it showed Walker just laying into a superior officer and there was this weird guy playing a lighter, but despite Walker's anger...a lot of what he was saying did resonate. I mean at the risk of Thanosing myself he has a deeply sympathetic position. Trying to do the right thing, trying to make a difference, trying to fight the good fight for his country and yet been unable to really do so because of politics, superior mismanagement and being hung out to dry by his own government. Nomad wants to fight the good fight and that too is a sympathetic position but Walker was fighting that same fight...but yet as what Nomad was pointing out to Maddux certainly is accurate. Despite Walker rallying against Vaughn for killing a civillian, then killing him, he now is terrorizing and killing innocent people.
Skell meanwhile comes off as being a very misguided idealist who was scared to death and out of this fear made a terrible mistake that he now regrets deeply. He comes off as deeply regretful and his commentary on politics and technology is fascinating. Yet also despite this there is a malciious undercurrent with many of his employees and many of the lore. Is he a man who made a terrible mistake or is there something darker?
Either way these two men are fascinating case studies, both are probably...despite their issues...what I would call 'good men', they are just fucking up in a fucked up world...and I wouldn't be the least bit surprised if this whole thing turns into some kind of set up. Anyways the other thing on my mind is that all of these announcements has indicated I could be spending a great deal of time. With both announcements on them removing the tiered loot and them adding in Ai squad...well that probably deserves a PT each considering I would love to start this character over without having to deal with the tiered loot. And I want to deal with a female Nomad for her squad. Oh and it would be fun to consider considering I have been a Panther/ Sharpshooter with 'Foley' and wnat to give Field Medic a whirl it would be interesting if I start the famle on Assault and male er a run and gunner eating lead bricks all tank topped up yet has her scars. Should be fun.

So something has been bothering me of late with the game and I have been trying to put my finger on what...well I did. You see this game's story has seemed vaccous so far and the bosses have been lacking any kind of connection with them...they are just another mook to kill essentially, which has its good points and its bad points. Nevertheless it seems punchless...and then I realized its because there is no Kingslayer Bowman Briefing videos in this game, no 'word of El Sueno' no cutscenes after you get them which gives you a chance to interact with them. The only one getting this level of attention is Walker and that does have a certain degree of awesome to it however so did El Sueno, and it gave you a reason to hunt down his bosses and gave evryone personality. As well as the other elements of the story not being strong enough like Odyssey, the experience is vaccous. Coupled with the dilemna over the faction missions...
Anyways, I did a good chunk out of 'Twisted Nerves', some scientist is suffering from an extreme case of amnesia which is led me to the Auroa Power Plant...and a very confusing sequence of events. So when I get there I see giant smoke stacks and I am like, that would be a good case to snipe. I had to track down his evidence elsewhere first though which leads me to the location of the smoke stack and mentions an 'assailant'. So I naturally assume he is a sniper but before I could go there I get spotted by a auto turret things break out and I can't quite get there until the base is most of the way secured. Which it is so I climb up and discover...scientist clothes and an ID? Most confusing. Well now I have to escort the guy.

So that was an extremely frustrating experience. After a fairly easy jaunt through the forest to reunite the amnesiac scentist with his boss I did one of the elite missions...this time prisoner rescue. Went back to that old Skell security complex and get the intelligence. And then that took me back to yet another place I had been for the extraction. It went fairly smoothly buthad to use ground transportation on site...which didn't go too well either because the handling of it...stunk. Jamming the stick to one side and it would hardly move but then seemingly a slight twitch sent it careening to the side. Helos were chasing me..and I blew up.
I rarely do these faction missions over...started a new side mission. I am hunting down clues on a lost civilization.

Yesterday, or the day before, I ranked up sharpshooter to ten. So now all that is done. Yesterday I also managed to blow myself up in any manner of ways. I prefer to blame the game . But one time I was staking out a mission site, using sync drones, went in for a better vantage point. Took down a couple with cqc. Located a good roof spot, popped my head over the railing for some guick sync drone setting up and threw a frag grenade. Woke up the whole camp, bag man jumped in the heli and flew off, mission failed... I never changed from drone to grenade... Then I shot a rocket into the railing I hid behind when taking down some aamons. Totally my fault. Oh and then I was doing a truck destruction mission in the woods. Placed the C4 backed away into safe area to detonate and the game decided it was time to through another load at my feet as I detonated. Two explosions and one dead nomad. Got the truck though.

Hacked into a PMC network. The alert and following shootout alerted a radio patrol that kept calling in reinforcements. I had like 7 or 8 vehicle patrols, about six walking patrols. Flashbang ftw! I am surprised sentinel don't just give up.

So it went from the game being frustrating to me being dumb during my playing of it. Ugh. Pt. 1 So for some reason instead of deciding to do what I wanted to do I decided to do something entirely different. I want to go to all the drone sites and BDAs to get the skill points...but decided to take on elite faction missions instead. And well another prisoner extraction, back at that area with the underground base and it did not go too well. Just a lot of extra people around there instead including a rocketeer and a sniper up in the tower where you first go, so one of them was bound to spot you trying to climb up there. Took me about three attempts and one of them had a lot of running and gunning through the area. Also Anderson Farm was cursed for me. I was trying to hunt down the Ancient Tracings and it said 'its in a convoy' and I didn't see a convoy (see...it blew up...somehow). Anyways so I went to the farm thinking it was there...well it wasn't. And there was all these giant little towers sticking up out of th emiddle of nowhere and then I fell off of them...twice. Also had a devil of a time trying to get that convoy fortunatley on the third attempt for that I shot at it and the dirver got out instead of just driving around. So I stole it and took it home. Pt 2. I decided to do more faction missions this time to wash the taste out of my mouth. And it worked out. Wiped out a squad, which sent me to the last province I hadn't discovered yet...the Wild Coast. So I did some random exploring and cleared out a few bases along the way. Which involved... the return of the no climbing up ladders bug. And it would've given me a glorious perch on top of this building. But instead I just had to crawl around, took out the genny with C4, and sniped from the second floor glass. So I also did my usual monthly spring video cleaning and all that jazz. So here is some videos of my exploits. (my long shot)
(what I was talking about the other day)

So that was fun.
Did more faction missions...well a faction mission...to get the next battle reward up. It was to destroy a super computer and it took me to the same area where Ian Blake was hiding in his base. First time out I got way too cocky when I got there I was all like 'I know where everyone is'and someone shotgunned me in the back. Second attempt though went much more smoothly...sniped everyone in my way and cleared a path to the computer...blew it up..scampered.
Around that time the nightly maintneance started...well this nightly maintneance...apparently they are making small changes to the game. I puttered around for a bit. Took on a Behemouth in order to get at the M4 blueprint.
And went on to the Arrow testing ground...and well I was running outof time so bit run and gun...didn't work...and boy does the M4 suck...that thing has the recoil of a country mule! Ugh.

Ian Blake mission... Let me tell you Ian can headshot you from behind that desk. He can also get you while the game glitches and temporarily removes "E" for grab. He can die from leg shots as well. Ian is not fazed by flashbangs. Clearing the base was a little tricky because the lack of high ground. But let me tell you of the dread and anxiety of accidentally killing Ian before going in to that room a fourth time.

So taking on the Arrow testing grounds for the fifth time and praise the lawd I did it!
Still i couldn't sneak my way through much of it as i was again caught on my approach. Lot of frustrating running and gunning followed but I took cover when I had to and stayed patient. Then the heavens parted and the angels started singing as I found it...the very last...Skell crate in the entire base. Fun.
Next up was the...third attempt..at Shark base, with all the Wolves in it. It was actually pretty good this time. I was able to do a WoD and it gave me a friggin gold 416. Which was just amazing. Was able to get everything and sneak out with very little problem and the 416, I am a little amused that the description for the thing is 'highly versitile, the Gold standard.' And its recoil is much more managable then the M4 as long as you don't hold down the trigger too long. Short controlled bursts mofo.
And it is with all this and them releasing the multicam to everyone. My look has been pretty much complete after 65 hours. Got my boonie. Got the Indi Jones shirt. Black from head to toe now with the black multi cam.

So went behemoth and skill point hunting last night. Since I'm max level getting the rest of the skill points and stuff so I can unlock everything and then get on with the game.
And man are behemoths...frustrating. I got like 3 of them and one got me...but. it seems like they are impervious to all damage unless you hit the glowy bits...even rockets. I can understand if it was just armor and it blasted away...but it doesen't seem to.

I hate wasting time. Which is essentially what I did. Had an elite mission to do, a new one so I was like...oh I should go do it and it can be done! And it ended up taking me to...the GD Natural Hazard Center. AGAIN. And to compound the issue didn't even do it, died three times...grr.
The only reason I am even bothering to post is that here I was, sitting up in bed, watching the Unit, and waiting for sleep to take me when it occurred to me. Last time I had four of the btards bull rush me. Before they'd do it one at a time...Ubisoft is making the feckers learn, great as if me soloing wasn't bad enough.
As much as I do like the faction missions, in theory. I really wish they made the change over a week. I mean it makes sense if you can pump multiple hours into it every night but I can't so...yeah...should've mentioned that in the survey I suppose.

So day off from work, XCOM crashed, led to plenty of time playing. I guess the first note of the day is that I got all the Skill points I needed from the BDAs in order to buy every single experience point in the game. And now getting a lot more...but more on that in a bit. I also had a neat mission to hunt down a Sentinel Commander, one of the Faction Missions. I got the guy by essentially missing a shot, then killed the guy, and then the commander came out to check which gave me the chance to take him out. Two shots later and he was quite dead, mission completed. Also did the elite mission for the Outcasts which involved...hacking a computer and defending it...my favorite. I really set up mines all over the area and prepared for a tough fight. Which two of the 6 mines I dropped down in places took out waves of enemy which helped. I used a flashbang and MP5 fire on a third group and it went fairly smoothly. During the next faction mission, again hacking another computer, also took me to doing the side mission 'cover up'. Not much to say about it other then it was a bit fascinating how it was another explanation for one of your pieces of gear, in this case the drone spray. As an aside it might've been interesting to actually make that lore match up with the actual game. IE you wouldn't get these pieces of equipment unless you did these SMs, could've made the Side missions more worth doing and actually fun and meaty. But they had to make the classes unique. Though around this time I have abandoned maxing out Panther and started working on field medic. Its funny took me multiple days and have not finished the tenth level...and now I am already on like level 4 of FM. Having a blast so far. Being a lot more aggressive especially since I crafted another 416, which just happened to be another gold one. Right now I am pushing the faction missions to get the 416 shorty and then the 416 scout through the Field Medic maxing it out will get me the 416 scout. Also going to be going after Paula soon. We'll see. Lots to do in this game still.
