Do you mean to say the "but" was not precisely what it looked like?
Congratulations I used the word "but", the 23rd most used word in the English language, Now point out where I said it was "perfectly okay" or drop the strawmanning. One or the other.
Now, all this is gonna fall apart if the other person didn't use their full real name, sure.
But you seem to be implying it's perfectly fine if only internet handles are used within what we'll call the exchange.
So if this person essentially being bullied by Schreier wasn't using their real name (which they weren't) is this ok, or not?
We're getting down to the meat of the issue here.

bsn.boards.net/post/1185130/threadCriticizing a non-personal entity (like a corporation) is OK within reason, as is criticizing a public figure such as a celebrity or politician. Just a reminder to head off anything stupid - the journalist in question - whatever our personal thoughts/feelings about them may be - is a person who was doing their job. Criticising their job performance - as it is in the public sphere of an area of interest to everyone on this forum - is fine to "within reason". You can even, to an extent, criticise motivation if you feel it's appropriate. What we won't be doing is devolving into attacks like what we saw back in the MEA DLC days. Thanks.
Fine, Dad.
Still think the guy ain't the sorta journalist we need because of that. Probably not the best choice of career field. Or maybe just specialization? Heck, noone would probably notice if he covered politics.

It's typical social media bullshit that is apparent everywhere. You see this sort of shaming all over the place now, it seems to be a place where people congregate into echo chambers and mock other people who aren't a part of those chambers. Stupid behaviour, but seems to be becoming increasingly normal. That being said this is all a public sphere and when you're posting a reply in a public sphere why would you then cry out that the reply was made ... more public? Schreier didn't actively or viciously mock anyone IIRC but rather drew attention to certain behaviours on the forum and made them public, but those replies were already public so I don't see what the tantrums were about. There was some hyperbole floating around about "inviting cyberbullying" but that's tinfoil hat stuff. Basically if you don't your posts to be seen widely by the public, then maybe posting on a popular message board isn't really for you?

I recently tried to find his tweet but couldn't find it. But I did trawl through the (really vitriloic and ... emotional) Andromeda thread and someone seemed to have posted a transcript which goes something on the lines of, you know, some people may not like to hear it but there will be no Andromeda DLC. Sad news etc etc The crux of the issue was that he posted images to posts with the full username shown freely to all his followers. My personal belief is that people lose control over information once they put it into the public sphere and that you should really own what you say, but those ethics gets muddled with these internet mobs social media influencers like to set on people. Sure, morally speaking he should have covered the names, but I dunno. There's a little bit of if you don't want others to show what you're saying, maybe it's stuff that shouldn't be said? At the end of the day Schreier's a bit of a drama queen but the BSN has a bit of a victim complex imo. You have to understand that people were REALLY EMOTIONAL about Andromeda at the time and there was a tribe mentality going on. Schreier saying what he did means he was on "the other side"

That isn't the issue. It's posting someone else's words, and inviting attack on them, in a place the original posters have no way to defend themselves. If he wanted to poke fun at what people were saying, all he had to do was post a link. People do it here all the time. Then, if his followers wanted to make fun or whathaveyou, they could create an account here and have at it. Or they could stay just stay over there with the other twits.

I think we are starting to go in a circle, but I just want to add my 2c. The thing about taking screenshots and posting them on his Twitter is there wasn't anything he broke by doing that, but to me it showed his character and just like he judged the people here by their comments I was judging him based on his actions. To me it was a bad faith action to take people's comments and then post them on his Twitter account without even telling people therefore possibly opening them up to things by people they never knew. Now I don't take anything that Schreier says too close to heart only because it feels like in his articles he tries to have it both ways just like his recent Anthem comments about the retooling where its dozens to hundreds of people working on the game. There are always grains of truth to what he is posting, but sometimes it just feels like he is either being too vague or that in his article he puts so many disclaimers it becomes impossible to be wrong. With this Dragon Age article I have no doubt that BioWare restarted Dragon Age so there he was being accurate. At the same time the article makes it seem to be it was a major restart and at the same time does it best not to tell us anything aside from Dragon Age 4 has been restarted or at least that was my takeaway (see I can do it too ).

I must admit to getting a naughty thought about what DA4 will look like in 2022. After ALL those years and ALL those changes, after painfully scrapping the game and starting all over to perfect it!! they ran out of time to make it after all

I think it's crazy to talk about something that will only happen three years from now. We're all better off forgetting about DA4 until 2022 comes and they release a trailer.

PS5 only or will the PS4 have a shot?
I remember playing DA:I on PS3 and it was pretty unstable, especially browsing the map.

So that probably means no real information until 2021. Oh joy. 😒
We'll get the usual first cinematic teaser that is deliberately designed to super embellish the game (see Anthem's teaser that had no reality to the game's actual hub activity) as a marketing tool, along with the usual caveat of it being 'representative'. Of course that hustling and bustling crowd in the HUB disappeared in the game....
If Bio stays true to form, the first teaser is released about 1-1.5 year(s) before launch (delays not withstanding).... add some concept art here and there.
A thread about the *Launch date* will start soon.

Some kind of tech analyst, apparently. Who also comments on video games. Yeah, I did a bit of googling. I will remain skeptical until I hear it from someone who actually works at Bioware or EA.
Did we not ,as BSN citizens, read the tea leaves and predicted a 2022- '23 launch date?

Yeah, I did a bit of googling. I will remain skeptical until I hear it from someone who actually works at Bioware or EA. As I mentioned in the TT, EA's Q2 FY20 Earnings Report came out today. So it's either from the report or the conference call.
Interesting enough, the FY20 report avoids mentioning DA4 and Anthem.

Fingers crossed it won't be development hell this time, but it is encouraging to see that they're being given a decent amount time to work on it.
Maybe BIO ought to focus on an achievable design goal that everyone can agree it's a DA game. ... then work hard to develop it.
This reminds me of Angry Joe's review of ROME II
It's hilarious. He plays clips of the ROME II's AI attacking the Roman lines (5:15, 10:38) followed by what the lead AI programmer said in an interview about the new tech employed how they polished and bug fixed it vs ROME I. ... and said it with a straight face. ... I think a certain BIO mgr must have seen this video when he made the announcement that Bio had heavily tested the Anthem MP game internally and ∴ there was no need for a Public Beta test.
My internal struggle is whether the teaser will show the "RPG part', the 'MP part' or both. For certes, it will show off the FB eye candy capabilities.

Interesting enough, the FY20 report avoids mentioning DA4 and Anthem. Regarding DA4's release, it was in answer to a question that was raised during the conference call (I think that clarification was noted elsewhere in the thread). EA also mentioned they don't usually talk about games that far out from launch (which is why it's not in the report).

Ready means the marketing campaign is ready so the game can bring some quick cash grab. Who cares if the code and servers are ready ? That's monkeydevs job, make them pull some late nights

Aah..... but what does *ready* mean to BIO/EA ?
Ready means the marketing campaign is ready so the game can bring some quick cash grab. Who cares if the code and servers are ready ? That's monkeydevs job, make them pull some late nights Ah, just like any other game developer then.
