The restart was back in October 2017 if I remember correctly, so over a year before the teaser. Granted they wouldn’t have been able to get a full development team on the project until after Anthem was out the door in early 2018. In any case, I would say they are probably in full development now. I just see liked this.

After the very public talk of their crunch time on Inquisition/Andromeda/Anthem, I hope they've been shown their errors and hope it's 2022/2023 to avoid that - if they were to crunch I have a feeling it'd be a lot sooner than then as the development - even with the restart - was a little while ago now, judging by the crunch reports of the time, the restart was before the Game Awards tease wasn't it? I may be remembering wrong. The restart was back in October 2017 if I remember correctly, so over a year before the teaser. Granted they wouldn’t have been able to get a full development team on the project until after Anthem was out the door in early 2018. In any case, I would say they are probably in full development now. Didn’t they even confirm that “something Dragon Age related” was in full production instead of preproduction during one of their blog posts last year or something?

AFAIK, the last thing we heard on the DA Front was in the September Update... "I can say however that one of our projects has a large and growing team in Edmonton working through pre-production, and based on the progress I’m seeing, I can confirm that indeed the Dread Wolf rises."

Patrick Weekes mentioned something about flight cancellations or something that had some people speculating they were going to PAX or EA Play this year. Could just be personal travel, but it’s possible they could have something at EA Play, probably a teaser. I’d expect something a bit more substantial next year.

Honestly, if it were up to me, I wouldn't rouse people now for a game that won't be out until 2022 (and likely November, at that). A Dev Diary maybe, but nothing more than that.
Oh, people are happy when they see something new, but get testy later on when BW has to go silent again for another year (or so).

No offense, but I’m glad it’s not up to you and I hope the people it is up to disagree with you. Being quiet too long and only talking close to release also has its downsides.

I wouldn't mind them spending more resources in comics and short stories while the game is in production. Tevinter Nights is especially perfect and it's going to keep the community fed for months to come.

The years long hype train for DAI was 'fun' after a fashion and it did help the time go faster, but man, it got exhausting near the end and information that was two years old or more having no relevance on a released game was less than ideal (albeit completely understandable). No info is a pain for a forum point of view, but in terms of managing expectations and reducing pressure, it's most likely the best way forward.

Not as exhausting as MEA's promotions where they would do barely anything about the game. DAI was without question more enjoyable in every way, shape, and form.

If the release date turns out to be Fall 2022, then I think the reveal trailer should premiere on The Game Awards held during December 2021 roughly a year before release followed by our first look at game play taking place at EA Play 2022.

There was that announcement trailer a few years ago and I doubt anything before six months prior to release would have any more substance then that. After all the complaints of BioWare misleading and lying to players because of the content that was cut during certification of Dragon Age: Inquisition they have become very quiet about talking about their games before things have been finalized. Edit: The video I am referring to.

It might just be a placeholder date for all the games that will release in the next generation of consoles since I doubt so many would release the same day. Though that list does have games listed in it that haven’t been announced yet (hello Titanfall 3 please be real) so who knows.

Okay there's a couple of things here. It says Xbox 1. It is extremely unlikely that this game is being developed primarily for current gen consoles when the new generation is being released sometime this year. It would be a cross gen release if it were being released for the XBox 1 at all. The November 15 timeline is about the time they expect the new gen consoles to arrive, PS4 arrived November 15 2013 with the XBox one a week late. The Dragon Age 4 release is listed as 15/11, the exact date the PS4 was released all those years ago, so they're using the same dates for the release of the new console despite those dates landing on different days. But the new consoles don't have a release date. Nobody knows when they'll arrive. They just think "sometime in the holiday season". So right from the start the dates are a guesstimate. They're almost certainly wrong even if it's only by a little. And I still don't think it will release before 2021 I don't expect it to be a launch title. Whoever did this list have put it on the new console launch list, and I mean that would have been a great date to aim for I guess but I don't expect it

As I mentioned in the other thread, we already know that DA4 won't be out until sometime after April 2022 (likely in the Fall). And the list appears to be fake anyway, as it was pointed out that Sea of Solitude has already released (last year).
