The only major instance we've seen of a Biotic being detained is Jack, and it took an entire chamber to keep her sedated and restrained. Is there some way to nullify a Biotics implants (for those who need one)? What about those who don't need an implant to utilize their biotic abilities; like Asari or Krogan? I've never put much though into it until now for some reason. I can't remember if it was Jacob or Cora (could have also been a lore entry), but I do know that Biotics have a high caloric intake if they're constantly using their abilities. It also seems as though, for humans at least, you can't fully "weaponize" your biotic talents without an implant and training. Sedation is really the only thing I can think of honestly. That, or strong mass effect fields.

In Mass Effect 1 the dampening ability disabled biotics. I have no idea what that actually consists of, though.

I would saythe most likely way is t ojust ewar them down after all Biotics take a lot of energy to use so those that end up usin them a lot get tired after a while. We have seen some biotics. Jack. Jona Sederis who we meet in ME3 sort of thing and of course there was those traps Petrovsk yused to try to catch Aria the first one around the generator the second in Afterlife wher you effectively have t ofree her both times. So I'd guess laying a trap asnd waiting them out often works to.

I mean, Liara was trapped in a bubble. Drunk Tali: "heLP, I'M iN a bUBbLe!" But wasn't the bubble generated from untouched Prothean tech? IIRC, she was studying a ruin when this incident occurred. I wouldn't think that other species would have such technology.

There are anti-biotic restraints similar to The Witcher's dimeritium manacles, see ME: Invasion chapter 2.

I always thought that was just a way to overload a biotic amp or Omni-tool to prevent their use. Dampening does nothing to the person, just their gear.
There are anti-biotic restraints similar to The Witcher's dimeritium manacles, see ME: Invasion chapter 2. That too.

Remove their amp, restrict their calorie intake, and resort to Omega-Encephalin if necessary.

Most biotics can't do much without an amp.

It requires a great deal of the body's energy to unleash biotic attacks so one method is to probably put biotic prisoners on a very low calorie diet and also keep them physically active. Of-course you'd have to keep it carefully balanced so as not to kill them from exhaustion or malnutrion. Biotic troops in the Alliance carry high calorie energy foods to allow them to continuously use biotics in an engagement. So a biotic with only enough food to stay alive and healthy, with their energy used up performing work, probably can't unleash very powerful attacks. As well, you might keep them in special prisons or special areas of prisons patrolled by a few biotic guards.

They never really went into it but Liara was held in a forcefield and Jack was kept in cryo. Having biotics doesn't make your body less human so they'd still be susceptible to chemicals or tazing etc. It would have been interesting to have more on the underlying mechanisms of Biotics in-game. It's mostly left as unexplained space magic.

Yeah plus Aria gets trapped durin gthe Omega DLC in Afterlife in tha tfinal fight by som ekin dof restraint that I think looks like it's using her own Biotic power to keep her trapped wher you have t oshu ti tdown to free her t ocomplete the DLC jus tdone that missoin again myself in my latest playthrough so is fresh in my memory

How about beheading Then put on display as a reminder to other prisoners if they get out of line.
