I know they went after Hawke's Warden ally, but what they were gonna do to him once he is taken back to Weisshaupt was left completely vague. So as far as I remember, we still don't know what kind of punishment they generally use.
And what about those who leave the Order? Anders kept harping about how "Oh, they will drag me back just like the templars", but they never actually tried. Even if they did, how would that even work? If the idea is to make the rogue Warden get back to work, you can't lock him up.
Lastly, let's say a Grey Warden commits a serious crime and gets caught. Does the Order bail him out or leave him to his fate?

Desertion is/was typically an offense punishable by execution, which we see in both DAO and DAA (the warden commander has a choice in this matter). While neither of those soldiers are wardens, it shows precedence in Thedas. I'm surprised they didn't have Anders at least imply this.

there is a process that involves cutting the... member out of the offended and put it on a grill before feeding it to the grifons. since the wardens no longer possess grifons, it was changed and now the offending warden has to wear it's member as a necklace. the punishment may differ a bit based on the offender's gender.

I know they went after Hawke's Warden ally, but what they were gonna do to him once he is taken back to Weisshaupt was left completely vague. So as far as I remember, we still don't know what kind of punishment they generally use. Were they going to take him back to Weisshaupt? I didn't think we were ever told what they intended to do to him. I'd assumed they were going to kill him, because that's a thing that happens to deserters from other armies, and I didn't think Clarel thought she had enough time for something more sophisticated... but that is just an assumption. I'd assume they just leave him to his fate. Outside of Blights, they have to play the political game. That means ridding yourself of toxic assets, or letting anyone else do it if they think they have a better claim. We know they save criminals from execution, but I don't think we've ever heard of them doing that for a criminal who was already a Warden.

Considering Duncan killed Jory in DAO and in DAA you as a GW can do the same, they would probably just kill him. It's not like Qunari who can reeuducate someone as they don't leave what they can use (Fenris said the same in DA2). Anders is out of the question as he is SO IMPORTANT to the game that you can do what you want but he still will be in DA2 no matter what you did with him in DAA. He ran away several times from the tower but wasn't punished for that (tranquility for him). He is important as he should blow up the chantry. So, the punishment - death.
