Hair. Star WARS BattleFront2 in the year of our Lord 2020 got improved visuals, after its launch. Here is a before and after (using the FB3 engine) from Cinematic Captures
The lighting improvements can be seen and some are quite good but not something that will blow you away.... not photo realistic anyway. Hair, on the other hand, is still a weakness with the frostbite engine. Look at Leia's.... horrible. No wonder most characters are wearing a hat/helmet.
I expect same with DA4 characters (including bald heads).... unless there is a FB4 in the works.
We may get improved tesselation, in-game destruction and something called levolution (destruction of key objects affect the map). But hair improvements? ... naah.

Look, this is stupid. Customising your character is a large aspect of DA and BioWare games in general, and BioWare isn't going to take gender choice away now, of all times. To suggest otherwise is ridiculous fearmongering. There are absolutely going to be major female characters and female party members, as there have always been. If, for whatever reason, BioWare couldn't include a male/female option, we sure as shit wouldn't get any race choices either.
The notion that including women AUTOMATICALLY means doubling the workload of animators is absurd. There are going to be women in the game and in the party either way, so, even if we accept that female characters HAVE to move differently because of their apparently elephantine, hallway-obstructing hips, the bulk of necessary animations will already exist. The alternative is a Thedas where all women are either noticeably absent (hard to pull off in a world where women control the dominant religion), or never shown to be moving. Despite their grapples with Frostbite, they have had male/female options in every single game that uses it.
The Ubisoft example is especially stupid; aside from being outdated (Syndicate had joint male/female protagonists and Odyssey allowed you to choose), the animation excuse is unbelievable, and probably a rush job in a (poor) attempt to placate all the ninnies who thought that the teaser trailers for Unity were introducing character customisation, something Assassin's Creed had never done and still doesn't do. Instead of saying "oh we wanted to, but, you know, lady butts *shrug*", they should have just told the truth: that it never even occurred to them because the game had, from the very start, been envisioned with a fixed male protagonist, just like nearly every game in the series that preceded it. And pretty much up until that debacle, almost nobody had been asking for it to change.

Wee bit off topic i guess but just wanted to say i liked what Ubisoft did in Assassins creed Odyssey where if you picked male PC the female was still a big part of the story an vice versa, wouldn't mind seeing BioWare attempt something similar

Not only would it be absurdly diverging from previous titles for them to suddenly drop the ability to have a female protagonist, it would be massively shooting themselves in the foot as well since Dragon Age in particular has a particularly large number of women in the fanbase. This question is kind of baffling really, because a cursory look at the previous games and Bioware's priorities should be enough to confirm that there will in fact be a female protagonist. How much there'll be in the way of race choice, who knows, although there will probably be some, but no shit there's going to be gender selection at the very least.

Considering every bioware has always had the option to pick the gender you want to play as I don't even see why this would come up. I have seen people in the past get worked up over what gender was used in marketing the protagonist which is a ridiculous thing to get worked up about since you have the option to play as what you want to anyway.

Is this bait? It looks like bait. BioWare hasnβt been bothered by this sort of thing before and I donβt see why they would now
Thank you for confirming Bio's past behaviour. Though, you must admit that Anthem solved that male/female cinematics quite well with 1st person in the hub and armour outside.
It's quite possible that Bio will do the same for DA4. It avoids the messy romance bruha if romance options "are missing". The CC is simplified and animations as well. I would not put it past Bio, if significant changes are made to DA4. Grognards, of course, want to see no changes but Bio was never bothered by making changes to game mechanics, now were they? Tinkering is part and parcel of artistic creations.
That first person perceptive is a MAJOR reason (and also that it's basically a glorified MMO as well) of what really turned me off from Anthem (as well other games like The Outer Worlds, Vampire The Masquerade: Bloodlines 2, and of course everybody's favorite over-hyped AAA game of the decade Cyberpunk 2077) because I hate FPP in RPGs because IMHO they suck and FPP have no place in RPGs.
In fact I don't consider them RPGs they're FPP combat games with a story and I can play plenty of FPP combat games with a story there are PLENTY of those type of games on the market. You can give me a choice between TPP or FPP like Bethesda does in the Fallout and The Elder Scrolls single player games and I will try them at least, but no choice means no money from me.

To be honest, I don't really "get" First Person games.
It never feels immersive to me, because the typical first person perspective offered in games (and most movies and TV shows) is just a camera view. It can never capture the way a real human being "sees" things. It always feels awkward to move around and play in a first person video game to me. It never feels natural.
I also don't get first person games that have a character creator. What is the point of allowing me to design my character if I can never see them during gameplay? What is the point of what Anthem does where they have third person gameplay but when you are at the hub world talking to NPCs its in first person perspective?

Considering more and more women play each installment of Dragon Age so that it's up to like 50% by DAI, well by DA4 it'll probably be more women than men, so they should just get rid of the male option altogether.
