James Ohlen - Studio Head - Former BioWare co-founder, Senior Director for SWTOR who help make Baldur's Gate 1 and 2, Neverwinter Nights, KOTOR, Dragon Age Origin.
Craig Robertson - General Manager - Former head of Live Service at BioWare for SWTOR and Anthem
Drew Karpyshyn - Writer although role not defined - Former lead writer at BioWare on Baldur's Gate 2, Neverwinter Nights, KOTOR, SWTOR, Mass Effect 1/2
Jesse Sky - Game Designer - Former BioWare Creative Director on SWTOR
Tal Peleg - Cinematic Director - Former BioWare Cinematic Director on ME:A and Anthem
Rico Flores - Lead Animator - Former Lead Animator at BioWare on SWTOR/Anthem

Can't wait to see what they're developing

Going by James Ohlen last decisions at BioWare (he was the whole studio creative director after the Doctors left), everything he focused on after DAO was multiplayer lightweight RPGs.

Craig Robertson had a huge part to play in Anthem godawful launch. He was also the guy in charge at SWTOR when it was at its worst content support-wise. Jesse Sky was also part of SWTOR dark days.

Drew move around a lots, he was at another studio by ex-BioWare that were working on mobile games not that long ago so don't expect him to stay long.

All and all, I don't expect much from that new studio.

Although, I do crave a new old!BioWare-style scifi game. I'm just not expecting them to do that.

I wonder if they will make a RPG Transformers video game? Since this company is owned by WotC and WotC is owned by Hasbro.

Those who worked on MEA/Anthem I'm not so sure about. Then again, probably a better shot at a good spiritual successor to Mass Effect than an actual Mass Effect sequel made by EA/Bioware.

I'll keep on eye on it.

That mobile studio he was a part of shut down due to Disney cutting their funding or something like that. I actually played his mobile game. It was pretty good. I hope this new studio can bring something on par with the ME trilogy.

That is the problem with gaming in general and not just BioWare.  Expectations from players go up which means more money needs to be invested in areas of the game which means sales need to go up which causes the games to become aimed at a more general audience. Its the same type of thing with crowdfunded games, there were a lot of people that had really high expectations of what they would be getting and walked away disappointed.  I am hoping just because of the people associated with Archetype that expectations don't get too high and what they release doesn't become doomed because they used to work at "BioWare".

I mentioned this before, but I think a lot of the freedom people are expecting Archetype to have isn't going to be there since they are not independent which I think is what is needed for a studio to be able to make a game that isn't mandated by market research and allows them to make it based on their passions. Because when you are making a big budget game you have to aim for a bigger audience.

We shall see. Anthem was the absolute last straw. I will never take anything game related on faith, ever again. Show me the released, finished product first, then I'll decide.

Bioware never said how much they will work on Anthem. They just threw a very vague comment that they will rework something, without specifying any scope or time frame. I wouldn't be worried, they know that Anthem is long forgotten by the gaming community. The overall weak response to the blog (even from the Anthem fanbase) is a clear indication. The "revamp" can be a really minor cosmetic thing.

Ubisoft is releasing a big, new and most of all - paid expansion. So they lure new people in with the lower priced base game, hoping they will also get the full priced DLC.

I'm interested in this studio. We'll see what happens.
