Alright.
Probably giving people a little too much hope here when I want to ask, but.
Is there a Mass Effect rulebook for DnD, like the Dragon Age one?

Cool! Hadn't seen this before. I'd really like to play but I'll never get a group together for something like this. Shame.

Looks like neither will I. Which basically means there's two of us.
Which basically means... How 'bout I see whether I can regain some of that excitement that I lost when my original DnD group essentially told me to fuck off.
Some of them seem somewhat interested, but I don't think they're as invested in the universe as I am, and when we played Star Wars DnD in the Old Republic era, the group basically split into three guys (a Sith and two Mandalorians) taking it seriously and having fun pretending we're in the Star Wars universe... And a buncha guys (including DM) who were bored out of their minds and actively trying to force an end to that campaign. You can imagine why I'm somewhat reluctant to include them in anything...
I'll see what develops on the front, but I'm interested.

I used to play the German D&D knock-off (Das Schwarze Auge or The Dark Eye) back in the 90s and early 2000s but we kinda ran into the same problem. A bunch of our guys just weren't interested anymore. With them, our game sessions ended up becoming very silly and no longer immersive and without them we just weren't enough to make it really fun.
I guess these days, one could create an international group and play on the internet but I don't think I could really get invested in that. I'd need a local group that meets up IRL, sits around a table and plays together.

Dang. My original group actually played over the internet, Roll20 and Teamspeak at the ready.
What I figure is, a group could rise to even better heights with Discord to go along with Roll20.
Hmm... Makes me wonder how expensive is a small secondary monitor.

Are you looking for something like this: n7.world/ Thank you for the link. I'm going to go ahead and draft a character to join in. They have a reddit link, and some people seem to be trying to get groups together as well.

Whoa, I haven't confirmed anything yet!
But I dunno, if I get enough people interested, I might just give game mastering a shot.
What I'm thinking though, is that there would be adjustments. Say, allowing weapons labelled "Andromeda" in the Milky Way as long as they're Initiative make and bumping them up to Ultra Rare no matter what they are in Andromeda, crossing off some races (the story I have in mind wouldn't work for the Geth and possibly Krogan) and brewing in a thing or two from myself. And I'm thinking adjusting the ranges on the weapons to something that seems more realistic, the fact that it would be effectively removing max range in some cases be damned.

This stuff is awesome.
I'm digging through it like the madlad I aspire to be. I think I understand enough to build a character...

It looks pretty good. I have been thinking about running a medium/lowish EMS destroy campaign, on earth. But I didn't have a system. An apocalyptic setting. The reapers are dead but their creations live on. Parts of humanity try to recover, but society has been mostly destroyed and warlords have sprung up trying to grab power. Indoctrinated groups form cults trying to bring about he return of the reapers. The players initially fight for a way off of earth to try and find races that were not as devastated by the red beam of death, asking for help to stabilize earth. The players are free to change course once more of their situation is revealed. 2 of the 5 players are fairly solid ME fans, the other 3 I think I can sell on the apocalyptic setting part.
