From what I recall, the most vocal ITers were basically puffing themselves up and constantly calling the “literalists” idiots and other similar terms of endearment for not buying their dogma, because obviously those who didn’t buy it were sorely lacking in “critical thinking”. There were a few that were volatile enough that they got banned. It was a shame. Those whingy shits were annoying, but they were also entertaining.

The attacks were coming from both sides. When the literalists weren't arguing with the IT crowd, telling them the ending is garbage and must be taken at face value, they were insulting Mac Walters, Casey Hudson and the rest of the team. All the while creating internet memes to prove their points. The whole place was toxic.

Yeah it was a pretty good way to pass the time during break at work. Too bad BioWare gave up on it.

Ah yes, IT. Is Shepard indoctrinated? If he/she is, could Garrus be as well? I say this because he's the only squadmate that can be with Shepard for nearly every mission, minus the beginning of each game and Arrival dlc.

If you shoot the hologram in the face, you’re finally doing what it truly wants. What if we were playing Garrus the whole time, and Shepard was a figment of his imagination?

Shooting the thing in face? Is that what the thing wants? Doesn't it want the green with how much buttering it did for it? Playing as Garrus? Now there's a reason to remake/reboot the trilogy. The player wasn't playing as Shepard. With a reboot/remake, that can happen.

I'd love if Mass Effect went back to Unreal, but I've pretty much given up hope on that ever happening, since companies like EA would sooner commit seppuku before they give up on a major proprietary system. It was Bioware who chose to use Frostbite for their games. That's when they fucked up.

I didn’t say it was problem free, but of all the issues that BioWare’s had in their most recent games, the engine was probably the least of them. I guess mileages vary though, because graphical fidelity and such isn’t as much a concern to me as the writing and overall design of the games. BioWare didn’t have to do things like open world formats and mediocre side quests.

There's a ton of articles. Like how Frostbite is like an F1 car; a sophisticated tool for a specific job, that isn't suited for everything etc. Frostbite has a huge problem, which is why Respawn has adamantly not worked with it, so far.

Sure, that’s a problem on the production end, and if true that BioWare themselves chose to run with that engine, it’s their own fault. But what I’m talking about is what this translates to in terms of the end user experience and where quality might suffer the most. I would say that Dragon Age: Inquisition is an order of magnitude better written than Andromeda (to be fair Dragon Age games are better written than all of the Mass Effect games), regardless of the engine.

And they need an engine that the devs could work on with no difficulty. www.usgamer.net/articles/ea-frostbite-engine-history-bioware-ea-sports

Fix Shepard's H2H Combat for God's sake. I don't like the way Shepard moves and punch with a wide swing. I mean, Shepard is Special Forces and he/she should have mastery of H2H Combat like Krav Maga, Systema, Silat, and Hapkido.

Real life examples tend to not work out well when it comes to a gameplay system. In a shooter, the optimal way to kill an enemy should always be shooting. Melee attacks are a secondary system. All we really need is a basic light attack and, as a bonus, perhaps a killing blow move if that melee happens to deplete the enemy’s health bar.
