I am gonna use mods for ME3 and want to play it on computer. Unfortunetly that means I will have to replay ME1 and ME2 to get my saves for ME3 (can't stand using someone elses from nexus. So I was wondering if I could use my saves from xbox one somehow. Is that possible

It was possible with the 360, but I don't think its possible with the XB1. You could try and use Gibbed to alter your ME3 saves to get the flags you want.

Would that work for it? I don't know. With the 360 what you were able to do was to copy your saves to a USB key and there was a piece of software that would break the encryption that the XBox uses to protect its data. I haven't heard of it being done with the XB1, but I never bought a XB1 to really have the desire to spend a lot of time looking or trying methods that might work. I think Gibbed would be the easiest bet if you know specifically what variables you are wanting to copy forward for you are just setting those options on the new PC ME3 save file to replicate what you have done.

Still need to rebuild the face, but that's simple enough. Although remembering how all the flags should be set is a chore.
What was the design rationale for encrypting stuff?

Yeah, Gibbed is all you can really do. If you have a 360 you could get your save from it, through the cloud.
