Myself, I think we should at least start a Anthem 2.0 skepticism thread so here it is also a what do you want to see happen in Anthem 2.0 but back to the skepticism to be honest I do not see any real changes to the good but with that said if they do happen to prove me wrong I will concede defeat .

These type of games have grind baked in... something I hate.
I'd go for a skepticism thread for Anthem 2.0... even if it is just to balance the blind love of some.

Sorry haven't been feeling well but with that said I'm still wondering what can Bioware do to save Anthem more story? don't think that will help sorry but the world of Anthem is small but the bad guys are quite large, I have been wondering what they could do to save the game but I'M not seeing it and don't see them doing anything to really fixing it specially if because of their short sightedness in Anthem 1.0 lets be real MMOS have more going for them in the grind department. but the biggest complaint on my part is lack of communication from them and if they think I'll pay for the game again they are sorely wrong.

No amount of communications will fix a giant bomb of a game. As far as I can see, Anthem 2 will be strictly a looter-shooter with aerial gymnastics shooting. If Bio can lower the grind and simplify the progression system with meaningful loot and reduced load screen time, the studio may have something.

While I usually don't like a lack of communication I can totally understand it in this case. No matter what they say, it will just be bashed by haters. Also they probably don't wanna promise something they can't deliver in the end (they have done that enough prior to release). So they just do their thing. And if it helps them to pull a No Man's Sky I don't mind. Obviously the sooner we see the rework the better. And hopefully once the core loot/inscription/crafting mechanics have been overhauled we get more Strongholds and such. I just wish they'd still fix some of the smaller bugs until then and finally allow private games for Legendary Missions and Strongholds so I can do those in the meantime.

I don't understand the customization system in Anthem. Usually a great way to get people to grind specific content is to make cosmetic drops random in that content, with better drops being rare. You get people to grind and grind and grind that way and there's a sense of achievement or "reward" once it finally drops. In Anthem it's much easier to unlock your desired cosmetics and it just means the incentive to grind decreases and the feeling of "reward" decreases.
That may sound anti-consumer to some but it's what everyone does. Bioware really don't know how to make loot games xD

Out of curiosity, from someone who hasn't really been paying attention to the travails of Anthem, what exactly is 2.0 supposed to do differently?

Regardless of what BioWare does, an inherent issue with the game will always be the fact that it’s supposed to be a “persistent” world that never really resolves itself, so that it maintains the gameplay loop that defines multiplayer looter shooters. The singleplayer aspects of the game need massive, and I mean massive adjustments to be worthwhile. There needs to be more in terms of content revolving around the characters of Fort Tarsis as well as the Freelancer. Regardless of what the endgame content entails, BioWare’s not going to get anywhere trying to chase down that Destiny rainbow. They need to do what Bungie typically fails to, to focus more on its story and characters.

This game was designed to be fish and fowl at the same time. And, that's its problem, among many others.
Bio needs to address what Anthem 2 will be, followed by what's the plan to get there? And, let's not forget, how to keep the players playing this game so that EA gets its online backend revenue stream for the next 10 years.

Heck yeah, and bring back the titans and with different mechanics and elemental attacks. Dragon Age: Inquisition Dragon fights were better about this.

I just hope we won't have to pay for it. I'm not spending money on a re-worked game that is essentially the same as one I already paid 100 dollars for. IF they do this, they'd better make it a totally free overhaul downloadable Update for everyone who purchased the original.

What's there to stroke? This game dropped below the radar months ago.
It's on life support. and Bio is no longer marketing Anthem, unlike the daily DA4 barrage on Twitter.

Personally I think they should trash it and give all their focus to DA4. I think a lot of people will be looking at that game to decide rather or not BW can still be a titan when it comes to RPGs.

Indeed - This whole Corona stuff is forcing people to stay at home (at least here in Europe), play more games, and should have been a perfect opportunity to raise the number of players dramatically.
That did not happen and it's an obvious sign for everybody that Anthem is indeed only on life support, simply because there is not enough life left.

Well... we got new players coming into our Discord every day. Some just started out, some are returning. And seeing how much trouble I have to go through to get solo matches going even with god knows how many people on the ignore list I'd say the game is pretty much alive.

Anthem 1.0 only really got 1 thing right. As in, this-will-set-this-game-apart-from-the-competition level right. Well, maybe 2. Everything else was horrid.
Mission Design? Terrible. (Tombs!) Story? Anemic. Art style? Dull and generic. Characters? May as well have not been there. They weren't cool, or unique, or special. They were just set pieces. General pace? Loadscreen upon loadscreen upon loadscreen. Upon loadscreen. Loot? Bad. Just poorly executed. Gunplay? Mediocre.
Technical graphics? Pretty sweet. Movement system? Top notch.
I do believe that you can take what Anthem did right and make something amazing. But, that would involve throwing out a lot. A lot a lot. I think a 2.0 would try to cling to many of the crap tier mechanics.
Which would be bad.

I can think of several things that could improve Anthem. Currently I jump in to the game once in a great while, but I am waiting to see what 2.0 brings. From the get go I'd add a character creator, get rid of mandatory helmets in combat. Make the game entirely third person, fort tarsis should be third. I think this would connect people to their character. There is so much more but I think a big thing for me was I felt disconnected from my pilot. I was just a floating head and couldn't even see him in a menu. Starting out there might help
