There are specific runes you can slot in Mythical gear. They are not exactly rare, but often are not that good either. I heard there are some that give a constant fire effect and I am waiting to grab em. For now I am using things like "Heavy crits do a knockdown" - useful since it seems to work on everything, including Zealots. I am actually thinking of switching to Raven gear because of the extra Crit. But now Eivor looks weird to me in anything but the Berserker stuff (and Spartan bow and shield). I am also so close to the Level 6 Settlement, which means finally can buy Tungsten from the shop. I can't switch out of Raven clan gear personally. I wanted to try out Brigandine, but I really like the Raven one by now...and the bonus to crit is nice, especially with weapons that have proc on crits. I decided to stick with all Raven stuff and Eivor's dads Axe from the get go. I use another axe that I got early called the Bear Claw but I may swap that as I got one that ignites on CRIT's. I have all the Raven stuff from early on as well and I like the 5 piece stats so have had no real incentive to change and I just haven't collected enough of any other armour yet. After finishing East Anglia's (Oswald and Rued) Kingship yesterday I spent my last hour justgoing round opening Synch points but of course getting distracted by shiny gold icons. Had a couple of great successes even though I was 200 power below the areas level ratings but ran into a bear. Decided to go on a bear hunt but after one hit it turned into the bear hunting me, so employed that ever so noble tactic of "Running Away" queue Brave Ser Robin.

I've been picking my way around Essexe today, just finished clearing everything around Colcestre. If you run into the Beastmaster here... ... and decide to spare him, you can lure nearby wolves to chase the clergy away and avoid bloodshed. Another day, another Zealot... Making Friends... And just wandering around...

Picked up Lagertha's axe in the far north of Eurviscire. Stats; increase crit chance when surrounded by enemies.
Killed another drengr. At 347, Eivor kicked their butts. With double axes, the blood just fly.
Eurviscire is a huge zone. The north is pretty much empty land with abandoned homestead along the long stretch of Hadrian's Wall.

I really like the Berserker set, looks good on both characters. Though I wish they would've gone with a different color or design for the covering on female Eivor. Also they really need to fix the clipping on some of these hair styles. The default on male eivor is especially noticeable if you changed the color. Also any recommendations for a screenshot tool to use for the cutscenes?

Eivor finished cleansing Jorvik, of both Order members and valuables.
Back at the village, she upgrade the rest of her armor and one weapon to their final level (almost, run out of titanium despite always buying all stock at merchants when I can).
She went to talk to Randvi and then Hytham who gave a new city to investigate: Winchester. But that will be for later. Eivor decided to do some jobs for Reda and then bring Randvi on a small adventure because she's always inside the longhouse and needed some fresh air.
Eivor might have gotten more out of that then she first expected. Hopefully Sigurd doesn't learn what happened there...
Then Randvi came over with news of an annoying young lord at the docks requesting help. His apparently the son of the Lincolnshire ealdorman and was thrown out of the city by Mercian soldiers. He also mentioned something about an ancient order...Something Eivor might have to investigate.

I completed Lincolnscire and Essexe today. They were my least favorite regions thus far. Lincolnscire had a fun story, but also had a bandit problem. I was sick of seeing bandits long before my business was concluded. Affairs did end as I had hoped. I hope I can rely on my chosen ally. Essexe was just strange, and very hostile to Danes (and Norse who are mistaken for Danes ). Today I experienced non-stop bugs. It ended, fittingly, with me managing to pledge Jorvik at a nearly pitch black table. I don't know what happened to the lighting. EDIT: I'm reticent to spend resources fully upgrading my Carolingian Set until I've seen everything else out there. I saw the Thegn Set via JorRaptor, and it's one I'd consider for the crit chance buff. It looks like it might be too over-the-top in terms of looks. Same deal with the Thor Set. Intriguing perk, over wrought aesthetic. It's strange that my favorite and most used set, the Carolingian, is a free giveaway. It looks good, more true to life than anything else I've seen; and it has good perks. I also use the Carolingian hull, prow and stern decor. I use the Raven Clan sail and shields because we can't go around flying someone else's colors. It's fortunate that the blue and green go well together. I have well over 300 opals, but Reda's store hasn't had anything I've wanted just yet. I'll keep sitting on them until I see something I'd be excited to own. It could be a while, as nothing in the Store interests me.

Just hit PL 300... in a PL 160 region. Yeah, I think we're right on pace with one another. I just finished Essexe and I think I'm 312 or a bit higher. I focused on CRIT skills for a while. Now I'm just bumping my general combat capabilities. There is nothing that's bad to have, really. I'm not a big fan of this weird skill tree and system. It seems unnecessary. Still, I do like that we can actually punch above our weight if we choose. Maybe they can keep that but ditch the unnecessary clutter next time.

I've been pretty diligent in picking up crit skills, and just starting to take another look at runes right now, piling on the crit there as well. The skill tree is... just a mess. I'm scrolling around and around trying to find the areas I want to improve, but it's completely haphazard. True, there's no real duds, but there's certainly areas to prioritize over others.

I agree with the skill tree being a mess. Even when I know what I'm looking for and it's been unveiled, it's still hard to find specific things. Eivor really does sound sad about the cake being a lie Sigurd judged a dispute between two villagers. Eivor disapproved. One of the villagers, upon ending her line of dialog outside the longhouse, pulled her legs into a sitting position and began to float away. I followed her. She gradually shifted into this position and stayed that way the entire way back to the docks. Visited Ceolbert (SPOILERS INSIDE) Did a few other errands, visited some allies, killed Kendall (finally) and came across only the second zealot I've seen all game, I think. And made it to Northumbria.

I like how they put a power level 230 or some such fight in a 55 power zone lol. Summoned one of those Daughter of Lerion bosses and got smacked down with almost 1 hit.

Finished Eurviscire. Eivor hit 363. There's one last mystery that will be unfinished due to the fabric drop bug. Otherwise, I looted all the treasure and did the artifacts. I don't see the point of upgrading all the equipment I picked up nor spent on designs / tattoos so I have a lot of mats, left over tungsten and over 24k in silver. I'm sticking to the original gear Eivor was given at the beginning; Raven armor and her father's axe. Everything on her is mythical. I did upgrade the double handed Sepulcher axe (the axe that creates fire) to mythical though. Eurviscire is interesting. It's hard to judge who's right in the beginning of course, but as clues dropped, it's clear who's wrong.

True, there's no real duds, but there's certainly areas to prioritize over others. After I "finished" the Raven branch, I went to pick all the gear (bear/wolf icons) and weapon I use in the other trees and the abilities that looked interesting. Then I moved to focus on melee/light damage and crit stuff. Then I checked my crit chance for fun and it's already at 90 (which I guess is 90%), but with only 34 for crit damage so I'm focusing on getting those crit damage little symbols now. Saying that, the way it's going, I'm going to have everything eventually.

Then I checked my crit chance for fun and it's already at 90 (which I guess is 90%) You guess wrong 😜 Try to pay attention at your crits (yellow number) and you might be shocked how rare you crit. I am over 100 crit, but I'd say my crit rate feels like 20% or less. There is absolutely no clue anywhere how stats work. It might be that 100 Crit is actually 10%, or lower, or higher. Same for Resistances, Attack, Speed, etc. It's a mess of numbers that give absolutely no idea about their actual value. It may be even a bug. I don't get how we went from the understandable Odyssey system to this.

The only thing I've seen is that is happens less on enemies at higher power level than me and more when they are green square...which makes me think the numbers means nothing and only power level matters. The same goes for resistance/damage. and I don't play with damage number showing. I hate that that feature and always disable it.

Nice to see them getting a patch out that appears to be fixing a lot of issues. One of the things I'm hoping to see with the graphic tweaks is that they fix the horrible character draw distance. 5 feet away or default camera distance you can tell it's using a low res version on people, hell pan it on Eivor's face and then zoom in just a tad with photo mode and it loads in the proper resolution and fixes alot of the hair issues(clipping/balding)

I have given up trying to understand the stupid skill tree and how every time i think I have reached and end of a branch it extends further again. I have just been grabbing passives and things I like and where possible picking up melee resistance, Light Attack, CRIT and Ranged and Assassin Damage. saandrig I totally agree re how did Ubi deliver such a mess after a much easier (still not exactly simple) skill tree and armour stats etc in Odyssey. It's like they said hey lets simplify it then went and delivered a monstrosity. Anyway I am enjoying the game and just not really paying any attention to the skill tree except to go ooh that looks fun or that will help and also just sticking with The Raven Armour and will look at experimenting with other stuff further down the track.
