Thanks that's my focus ATM exploring that is. Might try and just open all the Synch. points. I'd just advance the story if I were you. Maybe that's what you're doing and I'm misinterpreting your posts. I tend to pledge an area and explore maybe half of it upon arrival. I often get lured into a neighboring shire by some site or another, but I resist the urge to go too far. After exploring half, I'll go start the shire's story. I'll mop up exploration during those, or just before completing the region. YMMV, but this gives me a good balance of free-roaming and story. You don't need to grind out the settlement early in the story. They did a good job of pacing its growth with yours. In fact, some of the alliance rewards are +1 settlement rank, so it's tied to the story in a real way. You'll get to level 6. I'm just starting Jorvik and I'm nearly to 6. I could probably fast travel now and upgrade another farm, at least. Regarding the armor, I'm hoping someone will soon post pics of each evolution of every armor set. I don't want to upgrade something that looks hideous in the end! 😄 One good thing is that the effects of gear are mild enough that you can just use what looks good and mostly get by just fine; particularly if you're not on Drengir or whatever Nightmare is called. The Elite Runes (I can't recall the proper term) allow you to apply the perks of weapons and armor sets, so you can get the perk you want with the look you want. I like the Carolingian and Hunter sets, though the Hunter helmet looks dumb to me. (Hide FTW.) I've not seen the Raven Set fully upgraded. I abandoned it so early after thinking it looked clunky on female Eivor. I realized shortly after that I should've just hidden the cloak. I always hide the cloaks by default. They're just clutter, to me. I like the Galloglach Set as far as I have upgraded it. I think I'd like the Brigandine Set, and will likely upgrade it eventually. (I still have a piece or two to find, IIRC.) Having the Carolingian Set start out as Mythical has allowed me to hoard resources more than I'd otherwise have been able. That means I can start upgrading more gear to mythical sooner. I already did so with the Scimitar. I'm holding out for another Hunter Bow option, but will do one of those and Blodwulf (shield) next. Man, I also want to try dual wielding, soon. Axes and seaxes, in pairs and mixed pairs, are on my mind. ("Seax" is essentially pronounced "sax", so that sentence sounds humorous, a bit like I'm trying to flyte.) Alas, I'm also thinking I should hoard resources until I start getting legendary stuff like Excalibur, Gungnir and the like. Argh, decisions... Finished Lincolnshire today and whomever said it had a boring story was right. The worst voice acting in the game so far too. And an annoying fight where civilians run around enemies. I got desync because they walked into my fires (caused by one of the bear ability) and I deal aoe attacks. I had to change weapon for the fight. I liked the ideas behind the story, but it was pretty transparent for several reasons I'll not spoil for others. Plus, I just didn't particularly like Ledecesterscire the region. It had its beauty, but it also had terrible roads and tons of bandits. I was happy with the outcome of the story, but also happy to move on to other things. I think I'm going to love Jorvik. I squeezed in 30 minutes extra before lights out, here. I mostly scrounged for loot, grabbing two new equipment items and a bunch of resources without going far from the docks. This city is loaded! I met Eivor's friends and the local big wigs, and saved there. The city has been under Danelaw for a while, so it has a totally different feel. I love it. I went into a small church that had clearly been rededicated to Thor. Pretty interesting. The people in the streets are speaking Norse instead of English. So far, even the street and building layouts are just cool. I want to walk the streets here, getting to know each alley, after I've wrapped up my adventures as a level 400+ demigod. Sorry haven't read all your post EZ but I found this website re the armours not 100% they're the final ones assassinscreedvalhalla.wiki.fextralife.com/Raven+Clan+Set

This guy was hiding at Snotinghamscire. Changed the raven to a falcon. At 401. Invest mastery points in any of the three.

Yep. You gotta explore. Honestly, you have already gone to Asgard, right? That's pretty advanced (Level 3, at least) for where you are in the story. Ravensthorpe develops at a nice pace with the story. I'd not stress it. Thanks that's my focus ATM exploring that is. Might try and just open all the Synch. points. There's nothing I hate more than having to spend extra time to travel because I forgot to do the sync point and got distracted along the way

This isn't really a "What did I do", but rather what I heard. JorRaptor shared in a video that Power Level 400 maxes out the skill trees. Then, we get three options for Mastery Points, one for each "style". Mastery points cap at 30 each, so the current ceiling is essentially 490. I figured only saandrig would be advanced enough to have maybe started spending mastery points, with Obsidian Gryphon chasing close behind. I haven't played much this week since I have to clear a lot of work, but I reached 400 skill points and am already at around 20 or so Mastery levels. They seem to give very tiny bonuses, so it's nothing game breaking.
Still haven't reached Rank 6 Settlement. I completely upgraded the Fowl farm and need about 3-4 more upgrades on the other two farms to reach the maximum. Problem is - no more places to raid So I have to rely on completing region stories that give Raw materials or a free Settlement upgrade.
Currently helping our local Blacksmith to find another wife (will she stay for more than a week this time? Find out tomorrow!).

Make sure to loot small chests in civilian areas since many of those have supplies too. Hopefully the raiding mini game they are adding next month will give us these materials, especially if we can stockpile and transfer in NG+ whenever that comes out.

The Elite Runes (I can't recall the proper term) allow you to apply the perks of weapons and armor sets, so you can get the perk you want with the look you want. I switched from a fully upgraded Mythical Berserker armor (Bear set) to a Tier 2 Raven one. Literally in the first raid I did, I saw my health drop below half for the first time in ages. A throw from a fattie dealt almost half health, while before it was 20% at most. Apparently gear does have an effect, despite the statistics looking like an incoherent mess. I will fully upgrade the Raven set and see how much damage it can take. But ultimately you wear the Bear sets to take punishment as you can't Dodge that much and you wear the lighter armor so you have more Dodge, so it's logical.

Ubba Ragnarsson came to visit Eivor at the settlement. He thanked her and gave her a present. He still seems to think that Ivarr is in Valhalla, even though Eivor sent him to Helheim. Maybe he's not going to find out. Maybe Eivor is going to get away with it Gunnar the blacksmith is away. Where the hell did he go, I wonder? Do I get to go on a merry jaunt with him, too? I finished Jorvik today and actually did all the little wealth and mystery things in the town except for one ingot that I need three keys for. Still need to hunt down the keys. I really liked the feel of Jorvik and I hope the rest of Northumbria will be similar. I also did my second Animus anomaly (one with two columns to climb and rotating red hazards everywhere) and stupid Layla kept jumping down instead of up when I needed her to climb the columns. It took forever. If I finish all of these there had better be a good payout at the end, not just a split second of some vision that I don't even understand. And I found my second Hidden Ones bureau. I really need to explore more.

Hopefully the raiding mini game they are adding next month will give us these materials, especially if we can stockpile and transfer in NG+ whenever that comes out. I have a ton of Supplies since I cleared most areas up to Power 300 of small chests. It's the Raw materials that are scarce. I am the point where the only way to upgrade the settlement is doing the region tasks. Which is a bit unfair, because I just got enough of the BSNers Jomsvikings to make raids fun. The customized ones seem to be OP compared to the regulars. Every time I see a soldier flying past me or getting stomped in the ground, it's always one of your Jomsvikings doing the slaughter, people. They even steal my kills! The only thing the regular crew is good at is dying.

I am less than impressed with the armor options. They're pretty cheesy in general. The face masks made me raise an eyebrow. At least add a helmet to it. What does that thing do other than make it hard to breathe? I hope they add more "realistic" options over time. Odyssey had a great array of options, from very realistic to high fantasy; but I have a feeling we will mostly get fantasy options via the Store. At least we got the Carolingian Dynasty Set. It's not perfect, but it's grounded in reality and performs well in game. I'd love an era appropriate suit of mail, helmet, etc... A hooded tunic could be the cloak. Sigh. I wish I could consult on these things, as if that would matter. 😛 You know they have people gathering all kinds of historical info. They say, "Okay, this is how people should dress, be armored, etc..." Then the visuals boss says, "Make everything BIGGER! Giant weapons and gianter pauldrons. That armor is boring. Add some straps and shit. Forget steel; we need lots of leather and fur. Add some glowing stuff, too." 🤣 Considering the diversity of the armour in Odyssey it is just mind boggling the amount available in Valhalla. I am OK with The raven Armour but most of the rest are terrible either in their look or the stats just don't suit my play style. There are a couple of all black ones I like but they are all so bulky. The Huldufolk set and the Galloglach set are probably my favourite visually and in terms of stats. For me, there was only a handful of armor in Odyssey I found actually useful/cool and found myself scrapping most of it. So, my guess is they made it rarer and 'more rewarding' when you do find the gear.

And I just grabbed another one at Snotinghamscire. Are all your vikings, besides dazk , hiding there? So I decided to flirt with the guy at Glowecestrescire. I'll presume nothing happened because things went haywire the moment they started drinking and they went on to do crazy things like chasing chickens. They're too off-kilter to do anything else, barely able to stand. Then the Snotinghamscire flyting guy came on to Eivor and I thought; ok, she's being pretty lonely for so long. I my head off because it's broad daylight and they simply went to a corner behind a house. Sheesh, awful environment for a quickie. I regret choosing yes. I know who're the romance options for female Eivor and I'm on the last one; he's in Snotinghamscire. Not bad. of all the "romance choices", actually flyby quickie imo, he's got character and a background / good relationship with Eivor. I hope he has at least something meaningful going on later with Eivor. Akin to the Randvi option; I think her romance continued to play on after the roll in the hay.

Completed the Mythic arc yesterday, and gleaned a little more insight into how it ties into the larger game. Again, switched to male Eivor as it makes more sense here. Visually, the cutscenes and boss battles were very well done here, especially the last one. I'm was pretty OP for the region though, and with all the upgraded bear armor even the bosses could barely scratch me. Some nice vistas, though finding every shard here was a bit of slog. So - got sassed by a squirrel... Suttungr was suitably impressive. Looks like he could use a 50 gallon drum of moisturizer though. Wandering around Jotunheim... Then off to the Well to wrap up the Jotunheim arc.

I really miss the ability to fall from great heights and not get hurt. I understand that there is a ability that minimizes it, but still... You could have used a heavy attack during the fall and that negated all fall damage. However the patch seems to have fixed this little exploit.

I have one more wealth in Ledeecestrescire to find, but I can't find it on the map. I went over that region so many times via the map and I can't find it. What am I missing? Pay a "?" NPC to show you wealth items in the region. Might fix it.
