I find it incomprehensible the whole no NG+ thing, I would have liked to have played as male Eivor but oh well. All I can think is they wanted to prioritise something else in terms of resources.

Ubisoft really needs to learn to stop lying to their customers. And be held accountable and punished for lying. Two years of “oh we'll be doing NG+ but later” just to end up with “we, one of the biggest companies in the field, couldn’t figure out what indie developers can do and what we’ve done before”

Even just add something to let us replay the main missions like the old games.

While I think its nice to see a game get supported for so long. I still think it's pretty lame its taken this long to actually give a final ending to a single player game.

My guess at this point in time is that it won't feel like a final ending to the game anymore than what we got with the base release for they want people to continue playing the game until the next one is released.

No NG+? I'm not surprise. Just as well I did a second PT with cheats to skip the grind. Valhalla is going to be put to rest soon. 

Don't bother buying Ragnarok unless you want to experience the Ubi Montreal devs' mythological version of the beginning of Ragnarok; what Odin did to start it.

The DLC is basically a repeat of the main game; explore, find chests, learn some new skills. Create an alliance with the dwarves except that this went nowhere at the end. Everyone look at you with sour faces and said; yeah, great, you started Ragnarok. You get some abysmal small talk at the end. 

There's no story and character development because everything that took place was a dream / vision. The only thing that's fun is the morphing to a raven ability. The rest is another slogging and grinding copy.

Want to experience a more interesting mythological Norse tale of the Gods? God of War and God of War Ragnarok. The tale of Kratos and his son, Atreus, are miles above the tale of AC Valhalla.  

So I went and read the post-launch blog talking about the last update (coming December 4th).

Festivals aren't coming back, so festival rewards will be available for silvers after completing Glowecestrescire arc at merchants. Me not bothering with those activities is paying off, I just need to grind money now...  I didn't like how they were implemented personally, it should have been based on in-game time with actual season (and a way to advance time in-game I guess), not programming replacement based on external schedule.


I find it weird that the no NG+ section mention "adding more content". NG+ isn't about more content, it's about replaying the game with your shiny late game gear and build and not suffer the early game "can't make build, no gear or enough points to get it going" moment.


edit: Also, Ubisoft is coming back to Steam and AC Valhalla is the first game added, on December 6th.

The amount purchasable armor sets goes back to Odyssey and Ubisoft expanding upon that so I can see Ubisoft trying to take armor sales to an even stronger presence in the future.

I bet what Ubisoft saw was the amount of people that never finished Valhalla and decided that even there are people that did finish the game not enough would be interested in trying NG+ to justify fixing the issues within the game so it would work.  I would also say it might have $0 returns in Valhalla, but there is always an impact in future games both positive and negative. Valhalla has taken all Ubisoft games from a day 1 purchase to "if I am really desperate" purchase which I doubt I am the only one.  Between the Opal store and feeling the only way to get the armor I want is to spend money to technical issues their games aren't worth it.

Is it worth it to do the Odyssey par of the Odyssey/Valhalla crossover quests? I don't really feel like reinstalling Odyssey for it, so I was wondering how important it was to the crossover. My understanding is that the Odyssey part happens before the Valhalla one.

I've been reading about stuff, to see how I'm going to play my new Eivor and I stumbled on the crossover stuff, now I wonder.

They are two different stories, so if you skip one you won't miss anything in the other.  The Odyssey one really frustrated me with one aspect of it.  If you play it you will know the spot, thankfully I had a save near the time of the issue so I was able to meta knowledge it so I could enjoy my time a little longer before I felt the DLC screwed me.

The cutscene when they met was badass.

Was interesting to see a centuries hardened Kassandra.  She was still…Kass…but different.  I liked it.

Yep will play The Last Chapter and then yay can free up 120gb of space.
