Are they really marketing it as grinding memory fragments? 


Also, the video about "how to access" should be renamed "how to finish the base game storyline". I could technically play the Last Chapter on my first PT, but I'm going to start again (and probably never reach The Last Chapter part of it  ).

Really? Asgard and Jotunheim arcs? Are they going to put in mythological mumbo jumbo again regards why Eivor pop over to America?

On the other hand, why not. Valhalla is driven by the devs' "mythological foundation".

I won't have any problems since I've completed the two arcs but my interest wanes when I read the list. I wouldn't have minded so much if they didn't turn Eivor's visions into a boring mythical meandering jaunt that's a total of what, 30 minutes or less "story content" of relevance to Eivor, leaving out the exploration and SQs.

Since she is a sage with a Isu memory imprint that's starting to activate, she should have experienced the bewildering true events as they were. That would have been more logical. The Seer would give her own interpretation according to their mythos about Odin, etc. We would get to see the events, some of them, on the last day of the Isu. It would even be interesting to see another version of how the mythos of Odin came about, based on what the humans had witnessed at that time.

I am left wondering if it a silent majority that likes Isu based content or just Ubisoft being blind to the players. With Valhalla the Isu based content is boring and implemented in a way that I think breaks the logic of the games and the Animus with it just being potions to the Norse where modern day people need extremely fancy machinery.

I still haven't gotten in for the final tombs and just been watching a website for the last premium item I would like to buy. I like playing Eivor enough, but playing the Isu content leaves me with the same feeling as when Kassandra got married and had a kid in Odyssey. Where all control has been removed from me as a player. Atlantis was boring and empty so I wasn't a big fan of that either, but it never felt completely independent of the primary character and game.

I think they could have accomplished what they wanted with the Isu in Valhalla without the potion to the Norse Gods realm with having Eivor having visions in England of the Norse Gods so you never leave England, but follow the ghosts or visions.

Ubisoft has also published the notes for Update 1.6.2. for #AssassinsCreed Valhalla, where they confirm that the update has been released now instead of December 6!

- I'm out of town for a couple of weeks, so I can't check on this myself...

I wasn’t expecting much, but man the Final “Chapter” was even more lackluster than I thought. You literally just go to five locations, click an orb, watch a short cutscene, and that’s it. Barely any interactions and the few that are are as barebone as possible, and we learn nothing new. The Mirage crossover mission had more content than this did. Oh, and speaking of Mirage the lore for its game is William Miles (who seems totally fine working with an Isu despite everything with Juno and of course this one already killing Layla) asks Basim for a blood sample so they can look at his memories.

I still remember when they used Valka's voice actress for Randvi in the France dlc and figured nobody would notice lol. I don't think they care too much about their characters in this one. 

Overall after wrapping up Valhalla I'd say it's ranked last of the RPG trilogy. My take is Origins-Odyssey-Valhalla. Though, I'm curious to see what they do next. Personally hoping for smaller maps with more in-depth characters and quests. And please NO mythological nonsense. You can tell they really want to do a full game with that stuff so they really need to just make a fully separate one.

The game itself is I would say good, the story is a bit up and down in quality but I like the setting the main character and there were some memorable NPC's. Combat is OK but after playing AC Odyssey it was a bit anti-climactic.

I'd recommend you play it, when you finish the other games. 

I wouldn't rush out to go play it, but it does what it does fine.  The biggest complaint I have for it is that it doesn't feel much like an Assassin's Creed game for the stealth combat seems to be broken and I preferred just dealing death from range.  Avoiding the open world trope filler quests and sticking to the primary missions would also make it a more enjoyable experience.  For me it was a slight step up from Odyssey with the main story quest simply due to in Odyssey for I didn't even know I was completing the primary quests until I stumbled upon the epilogue quest.

Now if you play the games for the mechanics and not the story it is probably easy to skip, but the story is probably something that is going to echo across the next few games for the very next game is based on one of the characters introduced in Valhalla and that might be needed for what they are going to be doing in that game.

I wanted to check it, but maybe I haven't updated for a long time and Valhalla had 30GB to download. I launched MELE for the 15 minutes download wait and I am actually yet to go back from that, lol.
