I just realized, while reading someone commenting about the modern part of the games elsewhere, that we could see Kassandra in 873 (big spoiler for Odyssey's ending). I doubt it, since they don’t have a way to import your choice That's not a particularly big hurtle though if they wanted to do it. They could simply offer the choice to players somewhere in the game, maybe even in some clever little way. I remember in Witcher 3 you could fill in the blanks from the prior games while answering questions in a barber's chair.

You don't always have to refer to everything that happened in the previous games in the new one, lol.

Kassandra is the canon, there is nothing to choose there technically. The games aren't about rewriting history...yet.

I think she meant the Alexios / Kassandra choice. Kassandra is the canon, there is nothing to choose there. While true, I think a lot of players would raise an eyebrow if their Eagle Bearer choice wasn't respected. If Ubi were to incorporate a cameo, I would think they would give you the choice (though Kass could be the default).

More tidbits...
How does the story fit in with Odyssey and Origins. Can we expect to see familiar characters?
Ashraf Ismail: So this game so Valhalla is is anchored within the Assassin’s Creed franchise. Of course, in terms of timeline it comes a little bit before AC1, and much after Origins, so there is a deep link in the lore of the Assassin’s Creed. Again, it’s really important for us that we deliver the Vikings experience within the Assassin’s Creed world, those two elements are part of the journey that we’re building, so for sure there’s some surprises. I won’t get into which characters you might meet, but it’s deeply rooted into the assassin lore.

Thought (and maybe they’ve mentioned this somewhere and I just haven’t seen it, but) - the last two AC games have had discovery tours added to them; educational, threat/combat free guided tours through their historical settings. Assuming Valhalla follows this, will it be England? Or Norway?

Seeing this timeline, I feel like I'm in the minority here, but there is such a gap that's ripe for a story in the 20th century. More specifically, I would be interested in a Cold War story that era feels right for a game.

Errmm, then you did it wrong I have done my first PT as mostly stealth and assassination run and in my third PT I barely even killed anyone, except story required targets. I can clear forts in a couple of minutes without being spotted and get to a guarded target (and out) without alerting the guards. In Odyssey the stealth is much more powerful than in any of the previous games. No I mean the reason to do assasination wasnt so prominent and the danger present of your actions, as in Origins. I felt it now like that. I know also dazk likes Odyssey fight style more but I found it a bit too easy in the end. On lvl 40 Bayek will still need to be careful. My playstyle is mostly to do chaos in the other end of the place I'm 'attacking' and then go to the target as most of enemies have gone other way, stealthily. This playstyle in Odyssey would've taken in some bigger forts way too long time for my patience Stealth is much more than in previous games yes and I was a bit shocked in the beginning how easily some enemies could spot me in Origins. Fights just didnt feel as dangerous and tactical when happening for me in Odyssey. Origins I thought stealth was harder but also more reliant on using your bow than how you approach it in Odyssey. In Origins the method for me was simply get as high as possible and work your way down based on the premise of not being detected and having to use the bow a lot of the time. In Odyssey the Rush Assassination ability eliminated dependence on the bow as you could pretty much leap down or up and eventually as you got the options and engravings chain 5 people in one push of the button. That for me eliminated some of the stealth aspect which I love and made you use a slightly different strategy of stealth. That said some forts etc. in Odyssey if you wanted to go undetected you still had to be patient and plan your approach and it didn't always lead to using Rush Assassination, plus I found I needed to do assassinations to top up Adrenaline. Especially in case I ended up in melee and had to use other abilities. I took video of me doing one fort and friends I showed it to were like "wow you show so much patience" in waiting for the best opportunities to assassinate undetected and working my way round the fort. For me that though is the challenge and I love it. However it has been so much fun playing this PT as an indestructible warrior who just waltzes in and starts slaying everything. Was hard for me to do to start off with but it has made the PT so much faster and is a lot of fun hearing guys yelling "Help me I am on fucking fire". Had to reduce the volume as my wife was doing online stuff for work sitting next to me. I had a myriad of problems in Syndicate or Unity can't remember and in Origins with being detected when there was no direct Line of Sight but not so much in Odyssey, in fact in Odyssey its quite the opposite almost to the point of ridiculousness. Yesterday a guy did see me through a solid rock wall and through a solid wooden floor but eh guy I was standing next to didn't detect me as I was about to assassinate me????? Origins combat I found hard because I am not dextrous enough with my fingers on the keyboard to coordinate the shield and everything else. I also found it challenging with those guys with the big shields, the combat seemed to just take forever. Thank god for shield breaker in Odyssey. Element Zero Kaidan Fan cmoe MarilynRobert Curious Crow Obsidian Gryphon did you see this post and news of the release?

What I hope about what I have heard so far is that the "Settlement" isn't a chore and you can get invested in it like AC3 and that the whole Camp/Fort thing has some sort of variation after the grind Origins and Odyssey became with them. Hopefully there will be more varied versions of it and I hope the PC doesn't have to have face paint etc. it's something that doesn't work for me.

Considering the Ultimate Edition has a Berserker Settlement Pack that shows images of decoration, I imagine we’ll be able to customize it. They took inspiration from Skyhold after all. And I don’t think war paint will be mandatory since that’s something you can customize.

Origins I thought stealth was harder but also more reliant on using your bow I played Origins mostly in stealth (which made the segments were melee was forced annoying) and never felt I needed the bow and I didn't use it. The climb as high as possible and go down though, pretty much a requirements as the higher guards have great eyesight to spot you and warn others. If they found a corpse they went ballistic raising up all the fort/camp. They were also super quick on the "alarm" so I always trapped it first. In Odyssey, the guards are always standing in the right spot for a bow takedown or stealth takedown unless grouped together, but they are practically blind and seems to prefer to commit suicide than run for help/sound the alarm (they aren't as many alarms as in Origins) so it's not necessary. If they find a corpse, they just pick it up and...I'm not sure what they do with them afterward, I never let one live long enough to found out. The way they talked about assaults for Valhalla, I get the feeling we might not get to go into forts like we did in Origins or Odyssey. It sound like they are the game "conquest battle" this time. It also means they might not be stealth friendly, especially with 8 "pawns" in tow.

The gameplay trailer is next week - any guesses on what we’ll see? No story stuff, presumably, but will it be a “bit of everything”? Just combat or combat/exploration? Something else? I’d guess that they save settlement mechanics for a future trailer, myself. saandrig what does the flame reveal?

So on Uplay in Australia there is a 9% discount on the purchase of Valhalla at least the Ultimate and Collectors Edition plus using 100 Uplay points you can save 20%. I Pre-Ordered the Ultimate edition using 100 points and saved $50+ dollars.
