I keep a tab with this image up so at least I can plot my route. Is it me or that image isn't accurate to the version in the game right now? Bow Stun finisher is where I have Stealth Recon.

I finally 100% our starter region in Norway, then poked around a bit in the high level region. Even the wolves had red skulls. I managed to kill 4, but at 15xp each it just wasn't worth the effort. Tried some rock stacking, though I haven't figured out how to move rocks up and down without dropping them. I also beat one of Ragnar's warriors with a death wish. Having a shield is really useful here to block his thrown axe attacks. It was a slog though. Then... off to England! Got settled in pretty quick. Made a few raids and had the forge and Assassin base set up last night. I'm pretty sure England doesn't have these though... Also.. all teh kittehs!

I'm pretty sure England doesn't have these though... Probably imported by the Order of the Ancient to slowdown the Hidden Ones advance. They had those everywhere in Greece and Egypt too!!!

Eel hunting lesson - brake/burn/stomp your fishing rod, get out the Light bow and barrage the water near an eel sighting. In general - screw fishing. I love that the devs basically tell you this exact strategy in a dialogue with a fisher-woman during the prologue. Eivor is like "I miss the patience to do spear fishing. I would as soon just use my bow," and the lady goes "shooting fish with a bow. Now there's an interesting idea."

To save you all some gray hairs - the route to certain wealth items is open only after you reach some points in the main story. Don't get crazy that you can't find the entrance.
Then again, some entrances are just that well hidden.

When you get to Lady Aethelswith (I think), please tell me if you also think there is something wrong with her character model.

HAHAHAHA!!!! So I start raiding this monastery. Super cool scene. My ship hits the shoreline, my men jump out screaming and laughing menacingly. Then the carnage starts. My men and the Saxon soldiers are embroiled in an epic and brutal battle. Me in the middle, dealing out axe blows wherever I find anyone. Houses start burning as someone threw a torch. Monks run around like scared chickens. Fantastic atmosphere, just like you'd expect. In the fray, a Monk runs right in front of my axe. The bloodthirsty Viking I am, I strike him down without remorse. Then the hige text message pops up in the middle of the screen: 'Civilian casualties will lead to desynchronization." Are you kidding me?!? I mean, really? In this game with this setting and this protagonist? In a game where brutal raiding is a frigging mechanic? I mean ... I don't even ... What the hell Ubisoft? In the early games you pretty much de-synchronised whenever you killed even a couple of civilians, it is against the creed. That is the difference between an Assassin of the Creed rather than your every day Viking Beserker.

I haven't opened up in that direction yet, so good to know if there's some error(s) in there. At this early stage of the game (still in Norway and Level 4 or 5 ) I am vastly underwhelmed with the Skills. I am content at the moment to just plow away with dual axes and my throwing axe skill everything else just hasn't appealed to me. The only things I am looking forward to having looked ahead as far as I can see is chained assassination and Advanced Assassination.

He just took the blade that they gave him but that came without any strings attached (which one of those dudes wasn't happy about either).

I just don't get why it's on the "ranged combat" end of the tree. Overall the placement of skills and also the passives seems super random. But yea, over all, the skills don't seem that great. I think finding ability books is where the really cool stuff is in this game.

As far as KB&M goes, I'm used to having to remap everything (I prefer a non-standard movement layout), so this game was no different from any other I play. Also, Alt for Dodge?? So, yes... Dodge to Spacebar. I'm sure CP's delay had at least some positive impact for AC:V. And while I'm skeptical, I'm hearing rumblings it might get delayed again. Honestly... I would be fine with that. AC:V's gonna take forever at my pace. I have rarely remapped except in the last few games, what were they thinking changing dodge from the Spacebar??????

Thought damn it I can see the damn thing so ran in and ran out with it before the game Desynchronised.

Apparently they put it just on the outside of the map boundaries. Since it's also supposed to be about the first book you pick up, that was a really stupid mistake to make and I am surprised how it got past the testers. But then, there is quite a bit of stuff, especially in the beginning where I am wondering that.

One is the graphics quality just doesn't seem nearly as good and two is the number of glitches that I have come across. I am sure I had a few issues with ACOD that I don't remember but they were really random and across hundreds of hours of game play whereas i have had several in 14 hours, mostly with getting stuck in places.

I haven't unlocked the skill yet but from the description it looks like this: If you loose health in combat, you have a short time window in which you can regain it if you hit an enemy with a melee attack. Seems very useful for my melee based build but is in the ranged section for some reason.
On the other hand, something like "Predator Bow Combo" is somewhere on the stealth/melee side.
But all that doesn't really matter anyway because the passive bonus nodes are super random as well. There are several melee bonus nodes in the ranged (blue) area and ranged bonuses in the red, etc. Then why make up these categories at all? I mean, they exist a little bit but also not quite... I just don't get who put this together.

Passive things like Light/Heavy damage, Ranged/Melee damage, Health and Stealth/Ability damage are all randomly thrown in all trees. Each tree has some specifics - Assassination damage in Assassin, Crit damage and weapon proficiencie in Warrior and Hunter, Ranged Defense in Hunter, etc.
