Game devs are capable of making these epic CGI trailers. Imagine if at E3 2021 or 2022 Bioware showed off an epic CGI trailer taking place in the Mass Effect universe? At the start of the trailer a few astronauts on Mars are showed opening a Prothean ruin. The trailer zooms in on an Astronaut's uniform to show an American flag. The video then transitions and the American flag becomes the Alliance symbol. This is the same astronaut and now they are a crew member of the first Alliance ship to go through a mass relay. The trailer then shows their ship traveling to a garden world and then a time lapse of the planet's colonial development is shown. The developed world transitions to a world that is on fire. The first contact war is raging. I got inspiration for that from this.
Then we get back to the astronaut who is now a commander of an Alliance ship participating in the liberation of Shanxi. There are now many medals and ribbons on his uniform. He is shown giving commands and then the video shifts to a massive space battle. Shanxi is liberated and the end of the video shows him with a few other humans signing a treaty at the Citadel with the Councilors. This could be the treaty granting the Alliance associate membership of the Citadel. What would you think of that? Would you think a long epic CGI trailer that covers time periods of Mass Effect be overkill? Would you make him a soldier rather than a ship commander? Wasn't Anderson both a soldier and ship commander? He was the first CO of the first Normandy. Would you have his ship being shot down by the Turians above Shanxi and show a battle which wipes out both the Turians and surviving human crew members except for him/her and a surviving Turian. Would having the human and Turian stare face to face with each other add drama to the trailer?
Can Mass Effect excite people again?

Until an actual proposed game was attached to said trailer, I would be almost completely indifferent.

Some fixing and tweaking ME universe could be possibly made with these cinematics but, yea, it would also need a game attached to it.

I'm really not as fascinated with the First Contact War as everyone else seems to be. We already know what happened, we'd just be playing in someone else's shoes or some random alliance soldier who's "Not-Shepard".
Now, if said trailer said/hinted that I could play as a Turian, Asari, Salarian, Krogan, or Quarian with subsequent and unique backstories to match (ala DA: Origins) then you've piqued my interest.

Ummmmm…..did you happen to eat a bad mushroom? joking aside I believe we are beyond the early days of Mass effect myself I do not want to go backyards for the sake of a new game all that was mentioned in the first three happened and I have no desire to see/live it, time to move on.

I have to agree as well. We need to look beyond and move forward. I'm not opposed at all at the idea of a First Contact War game but it does seem like going too far back now. Let us exploit Andromeda to the fullest !

I have zero interest in the First Contact War and then even less when the discussion moves to making it into a game since there is nothing of interest there. Everything we need to know is in the codex for the first game. I doubt you could play those different races for everything I read in the past and you know how people are attached to the lore around here so unless you are playing a Turian or a Human I don't see how the other races come into play.

Until an actual proposed game was attached to said trailer, I would be almost completely indifferent. Yeah, I rather BioWare be completely radio silent until they have something to show us for an upcoming game. No need to feed all the whiners online that take anything produced by a developer before release and then scream about how it was completely inaccurate to what the final product is.

I would be disappointed but ultimately an E3 video is basically nothing. Until details of the game surface it's too early to react in any real way.
If they announce that the next game is going to be a prequel. Yeah not going to buy it. Mass Effect universe needs to move forward not back. Otherwise the game will fail, the franchise will not recover and Bioware is not going to be in a good position again.
