Gotta have your lov einterest there at least for the dance at the end. M yquizzies usually do including my current one though my current quizzy's love is Cullen so he was always going to attend.
Cullen is my fav romance. I've been giving almost all romances a fair shot though and having completed all Origins, I messed around with the Keep a lot to have different world states while it was operational. I tend to bring somebody I haven't before and whoever makes sense given my scenario. Since I'm planning to do some fighting, I also bring the complimentary classes. If I'm a mage then one of the tanks will be coming too. Yeah the onl yromanc eI've no tdone yet is Dorians but Cullen's is ,m yfavouriet as well. Especially if you happen t obe playin ga mage Inquisitor it gives him a chanc to learn and realise tha tnot all mages are murdering bloodthirsty monsters. Though he is m yromance in m ycurrent run I'm playing as a rogue so doing things a little differently.

Just finished a run last night, after over a year away from DAI. Mild despondency this morning, as I ponder whether or not I should write something about the inquisitor and what happened to him after Trespasser. In any case, this time around I followed my usual pattern of gameplay. Human male inquisitor, Archer, didn't recruit either Sera (gahhh!) or Iron Bull (who can be stupid enough to bring in a Qunari spy within the organization? Although in the end, the joke is on you, since the Inquisition was infiltrated by Qunari agents from almost the beginning...). As for the question at hand. I brought Vivienne (she knows everyone at court so it's a no-brainer) - Cassandra (royalty and right hand of the late Divine), Dorian (nobility and outsider insights). I never take Cole because he'd stick out like sore thumb, or Blackwall. He wouldn't want to expose himself, especially not in Orlais. Whoever hired Rainier to murder General Callier might have been in attendance and recognized him. And finaly I think it is in character for Solas to avoid undue attention, even though he's an arrogant bastard who enjoys sticking it to his enemies, so I never bring it either. And of course my Cullen was there. I never marry him though, even though I always romance him. It would look ridiculous for 2 men to marry, in that world at that time. The Inquisition people might whisper and speculate about the close friendship between the Inquisitor and the Commander of their armies, but both are discrete so appearances are kept. Pity the game can't recognize who you actually bring, so all the companions have comments afterwards, as if they had been there - a bit jarring.

I never marry him though, even though I always romance him. Sorry for the digression from the thread topic, but how does this work out in the game? Does he ask and you refuse, or what? I ask because you're the first person I've seen who romances Cullen and isn't ecstatic over the ability to get married. I romance Dorian, so that's not an issue. However, I'm glad it's not, as a Trespasser marriage is not fitting with my character's RP, nor do I want the game to dictate that for me. That would apply regardless of gender pairing for me, but I've wondered how the game handles it if you don't want to get married.

I ask because you're the first person I've seen who romances Cullen and isn't ecstatic over the ability to get married. The option is either to marry him or answer 'we don't need marriage' - and the end credits state that both he and the inquisitor chose to live a quiet life together afterwards - same as if they were married anyway. I use the Bi-Cullen mod for this. Which means most of the romance dialogue options are voiceless.

Always the significant other and the other two don't matter. It usually based on what class they are and what my Ink and their love interest is. I like to keep a balance of melee and ranged fighting abilities.

I never take Cole because he'd stick out like sore thumb, He has ways of avoiding that. Nope. Someone almost does, but it's not the guy who hired him to commit high treason. That guy killed himself when the plot was unveiled and Gaspard denounced it.

Really? I brought him once and I remember him hanging out in the lower portion of the Guest Wing, but I don't recall any comment by a NPC about Blackwall. And you're right of course, I'd forgotten about the confession in the prison.

It's an NPC who converses with him. The guy says something like "you know, I could swear I've seen you before." Blackwall/Rainier tries to tell him he's imagining things, but the noble says that he's sure he's seen Blackwall/Rainier before. The NPC also mentions that he's pretty sure he'd recognize Blackwall/Rainier if he didn't have his beard grown out. Considering that Blackwall admits in party banter after his secret gets out that he grew the beard as a disguise, he was probably freaking out internally that whole time. (That he wasn't visibly freaking out says great things about his poker face.)
