Whenever I start up a new RPG or any game that has a skill tree or or a similar RPG progression system I always get frustrated. How am I supposed to know how many levels can I reach? Will I be able to reach this cool perk and that other one in another branch? I have to either level up blindly or go online and look up this stuff up which can lead to unintentionally seeing spoilers or other gameplay mechanics I would have preffered to experience myself in game. Should devs indicate how much levels can you get to help optimize builds on you firs playthrough are there other ways to deal with this problem or is everything fine as it is?

I think it's fine as it is.As it makes me think of what does my character need t obe successful in wha tthey do rather than see if I can get an upgrade later.

Usually first PTs on Normal are rather forgiving - you can go in blindly with almost any build. Min-maxing is for subsequent PTs or NG+. Though, knowing the level cap/average end-game level allows me to get the general idea of length and difficulty of the game.

Yeah I think i also depensd on the game tbh Aftre all sometimes fo rexampl eon MEA the enemis stop levelling up a tlevel 80 which in turncan mak esubsequen tplaythrough ssuper easy if you go any higher in otherworsds you become to oOP fo rth egame things lik ethat whjereas in DAI yo ustop after hitting 27 but the AI is always at leas tin the DLC's always levelling up with you I believe. Hence will or at least can pose a challenge if you don't pay attention.

I think it's fine as it is.As it makes me think of what does my character need t obe successful in wha tthey do rather than see if I can get an upgrade later. But usually games encorage to plan your leveling, for example by putting prerequisites to gaining certain ability, so you have to plan ahead and invest into certain build. Usually first PTs on Normal are rather forgiving - you can go in blindly with almost any build. Min-maxing is for subsequent PTs or NG+. Though, knowing the level cap/average end-game level allows me to get the general idea of length and difficulty of the game. Ability to finish a game with suboptimal build is not a problem. But usually even on a first playthruogh somewhere in midgame you understand game mechanics enough to try aome kind of specific build, not just blind pick of skills. And on new PTs you would probably go for a completly new build instead of doing the same one but slightly better. I guess one way to address this is to allow player to reset skills like in Mass Effect games.

Bugs me too. Especially when the games are a big time investment. DoS2 had respec stations. That's what I just need to know it's there and no more bothering.
