The single player campaign can be played from both side. Woot! I'm going to be able to use my HOTAS that has been gathering dust since Strike Suit Zero.
By the way, this map from the Eurogamer preview reminds me of SWTOR Galatic Starfighters map. A lot less static and different icons, but very similar concept.
Noone said anything about HOTAS support from what I know.
HOTAS support for PC was confirmed by Ian S. Frazier, the creative director, last month.

I had to google the acronym HOTAS...But now that I know what it is, a Hands-On Throttle And Stick....That looks amazing and would be amazing for any Space/Flight Sim type of game....Wish I had that back in the 1990s when I played the original TIE Fighter and X-Wing games. Though those were the only type of Sim games I played. A good friend of mine loved Chuck Yeager's series of Flight Simulators....but I was never one for those. A stick like the Logitech X56 would ba amazing and totally immerse a player into the new Squadrons game....But for me, I can't really justify spending that money for one game. I know, I know, I bought a Gaming Headset w/mic for ANTHEM....But as my Bose AE2s have been falling apart as of late (the leather wrap and foam is tearing off the right ear cup), I hve been using my Logitech headset for more than just playing ANTHEM. Can't say I'd use a HOTAS or even standard joystick for anything other than this one space Sim.
But it does look really cool....I can just imagine the immersive feeling, controling the throttle, the yaw/pitch, flicking a switch to change from Lasers to Torpedoes......And having a set of rudder pedals at your feet would increase that feeling even more. But that's if you really wanted to go all-out and if Space/Flgith Sims were just about all you played.
I know I've brought this up before, but having never used a KB/M for a flight sim type of game, I have to say I am concerned. I know Frosted has attempted to alleviate my concerns....But the nagging doubt is still there because of my own lack of experience. That being said, I more than likely won't buy this game. It's pretty to look at and I kinda want it, but I probably won't buy it.

There is a screenshot of the PC controls on Reddit, if you wonder what it looks like. Having played a lots of space sims with a kb/mouse setup, how well it goes really depends how the developers implemented them.
As for HOTAS, I own the Thrustmaster T-Flight Hotas X (no pedals, too expensive even for cheap ones). Still under $100 in the US, but I looked in Canada and not only is it out of stock, the price are insane now. Good thing I bought it back in 2012.

Although ANTHEM has changed my mind and perspective on Co-Operative MP, MP in general (such as PvP seen in Battefront II and Battefield etc...most modern titles) is a turn off for me. 99% of my games I play for SP Story/Campaign reasons, and that's it. The same is mostly true for ANTHEM as well, though I admit I do enjoy jumping in with a sqaud and doing full Co-Op sessions, especially with the use of my headset/mic. Being able to communicate with squadmates about directions to take, who's-doing-what etc...is a lot of fun and makes it easier to play in many cases. But as Squadroms would likely be the only game of its kind that I were to purchase, I can't honestly justify the extravagance and extra expense of a Throttle or even a basic Joystick

Yea hI quiet like Battlefront 2 but for me the fac tis at least there in that game there are other SPmodes outside of campaign s ofo rm etha ta tleast makes BF2 a little moer playable than other games in it's genre. Granted it is mostl ymultiplayer bu tthe fac tit does have almost lik eaerna styl ematches where you can just fight against AI is a good thing I think. Because i tdoes a tleast giv eyou an alternative to just playing story mode. Alo to fgames such as COD and Battlefield only hav ethe campaign moed sometimes I feel just to satisfy peopl etha twant a singl eplayer mode. Which is why a lo tof the time I wai tuntil they'er dirt cheap like £5-£10 and buy them then if I'm interested in the story.

Ian S. Frazier @tibermoon I am incredibly pleased to announce that after a ton of hard work from the team here at @motivemontreal, Star Wars: Squadrons has just gone aurodium!
I am so swamped with work that time seems to fly (pun not intended). Forgot this one is almost here. Soon ACV and 2077 will knock on the door. I need to make plans.

ikr? The fall is gonna be crazy. Say what you will of 2020, in terms of game releases, it's looking pretty good (just never mind everything else ).

Right? That bad predatory X-wing against the heroic Imperial underdog. If you never watched Star Wars, it definitely can give you a different perspective of the events.
In a few hours I will do the preload and jump to New Zealand to see how the game is. Tomorrow evening might do some PVP as I am not in the mood for it tonight.
OpenCritic was showing a review average of 80/100 (Strong) which seems pretty decent.

Dam, I am too busy at work to check it out atm. Probably gonna be another 2-3 weeks before I get the time. I am curious though, wanna try with my Rift. Nice to see that it seems to be a decent game though.
They tried to give the old feeling of XW/TIE mission briefings and ship interior (plus damage on cockpit systems). It's a good kind of retro.
I am certain they wanted to include free roam inside the capital ship. All the signs point to it. But it ended up being a free look around and click to change position/talk to people. Can't help but think there was more to this than a MP game, but it was changed somewhere in early to mid production.
Multiplayer is a bit hilarious atm. Everyone sucks. Using the ping command is surprisingly good though, because people seem to follow it.
I am following the story for tonight. It's a good nostalgic feeling.
