If you were to introduce someone to Dragon Age...

Bad news here.

I spent forever evangelising to my friend about Dragon Age Origins, how utterly brilliant and compelling it was, all the branching choices, incredible characters etc etc.

Eventually he decided to buy it and try it out for himself.

A week later I asked him how it was going and he told me he'd uninstalled the game because it was "too linear"

....

My friend is sadly no longer in this world Nightscrawl, so that's not possible - much to my regret. Still I agree that few people could ever accuse that game of linearity.

I still find it hard to believe how anyone could consider DA:O linear, given it depends entirely upon branching story paths, and the main quests can be done in pretty much any order.... I always wonder if he just maybe got as far as Ostagar and the Korcari Wilds, decided the whole game was like that and went no further. I guess I'll never know.
