Like the title says: pitch a spin-off Dragon Age title, in any genre you want, from farmville clone to FPS. I'll start.
Genre: "Metroidvania"-style 2D platformer.
Gameplay: A mix of Castlevania and Trine, the player controls three characters (Warrior, Rogue and Mage), each with different abilities to suit different combat and puzzle-solving situations, necessitating the player to swap between them. As the narrative progresses, characters unlock new abilities that allow access to previously locked-off areas. They also earn exp and skill points for unlocking combat abilities. Key narrative points will offer choices that lead to multiple endings.
Premise: A gray warden investigating rumours of darkspawn infestation arrives at an abandoned village, atop an ancient ruin. Here, he crosses paths with a thief and a circle mage, each with their own reasons to infiltrate the crumbling castle. With their goals aligned, the three form an alliance to reach the dungeon depths, but as they progress further, they encounter demons and other eldritch monsters, and the internal architecture seems to defy reality, implying a greater threat at hand...

DA: Village Builder Premise: First the Blight and then the Breach destroyed many villages. You are tasked with rebuilding them and making them safe to live in again. Maybe you'll even make friends on the way? Gameplay: You collect materials (either by mining, wood chopping, fighting animals etc), craft things and then build villages. You're accompanied by a (NPC) friend who will protect you while you gather materials. Brought to you by me keep misreading Dragon Quest Builders 2 as Dragon Age Builders 2 It's super fun

A rogue-like based around the grey warden calling. Create your grey warden and set off to the deep roads. The goal is to just survive for as long as possible. The games ends when you die.

DA: The Nug King
Genre: 2D Nug Platformer a la Ori & the Blind Forest
Premise: Behind every great hero... there is a nug. It begins with our Nug Errant being charged by the (current) elderly Nug King to help the Warden defeat the Blight. And the idea is you'll progress through all 3 games as the hero behind the scenes in every pivotal moment, saving his own people, and finally becoming the Nug King. Eg. Weaving your way through the Battle of Ostagar to get to the Tower of Ishal and thwart the Darkspawn so the Warden doesn't get overwhelmed. Meeting various NPCs like Flemeth, Barkspawn, Schmooples, and so on. Share in the heroes' triumphs and sorrows.
Gameplay: Puzzles, platforming, straight-up combat, and using the environment to defeat or evade your foes. Eat various plant life, lyrium, cheese, and temporarily merge with spirits for various powerups and transformations. For example, absorb a rage demon to become a fiery Abominug. Discover ancient elven magic to transform into a rampaging Nuggalope, etc.

"Magey-Elfy Literature Club" A romantic visual novel in which the main character attends Warden school under the tutelage of Senpai Duncan. You're the new kid, and as the new term begins you meet the other students... Alistairoo, the chipper, bright, but kinda annoying guy who has a huge crush on you Morrigannuki, the EMO kid Lelianasan, the weird but cutely quirky girl with dumb hair, and Loghainori, the shy but dark dude who stays at the back of the room for every lesson, playing with a switch blade The point of the game is to pick your favourite, find out what they like, then make them fall in love with you. Forcibly. Whether they like it or not. Hopefully Monika won't find out.....

A turn based strategy game with campaign driven storyline, like Final Fantasy Tactics OR a card game driven RPG like the Witcher: Thronebreaker.

Turn-based Tactical Game, Think Tactics Ogre or Final Fantasy Tactics.
Grid-styled combat, multiple hero troops and generic troop types, with the story taking place during the Ferelden Rebellion with Maric.
Hero characters include Maric, Loghain, Bryce Cousland, Rendon Howe, Leonas, Moira Therin, Lady Rowan, and others that can be thrown in/made up.
Or, make it a merc band under Maric's command.

God I miss FF Tactics. I would be down for something like this, but I would prefer an original story, rather than one covered by the novels already.

I think Bull + the Chargers could have made a great spinoff title. Taking merc jobs across Thedas, squad-based tactical combat maybe similar to DA:O. Bull as the PC. Freddie Prince Jr is a great voice-actor and Bull is an extremely well-written character, and you could have a smaller scope game where you're not trying to save the world or anything but just paying the bills as the most studly merc company in Thedas- and visiting lots of new places and faces across Thedas. Would also be a great way to expand the DA world past the handful of areas we've visited so far. I would buy that game, at any rate.

Personally I think Sutherland & company are in a pretty good position to get their own spin off. The game would still be like an action adventure but the quests would be more focused on the little people and stories that go unnoticed from the overarching DA story. Maybe the Jennies could play into it somehow.
I think it'd be so interesting to experience more personal stories and the effects the main DA story has on them- told through the lens of a few friends learning more about the crazy world of Thedas and helping people not as the chosen one, but as the people who decided to try and make the world a better place.

I would love an RTS game with fortress building, perhaps fighting the Qunari or a new war, but something that takes place in modern Thedas. I’m more interested in expanding current stories rather than doing the historical one.
I would also no joke pay for a visual novel style game with branching storylines.

DA: The Hunt for a Recipe
You play as a former mercenary who is now a cook in a small village living a quiet life. Things are going well until one day you can't find you famous recipe to make your special bread. You see your rival riding out of the village at very quick pace. You suspect him of stealing you recipe.
You gather 3 of your former merc buddies, a blacksmith, a vendor, and a farmer. You run after the guy with your roller.
As you chase the guy, you encounter all kinds of different people. Because of your kind heart, you help where you can. During one of your travels, you stop a possible assassination attempt on a leader. You are hired to find out who wants the leader dead. You accept, but realize your true goal is to get your recipe back.
In the end, you find out that your rival only left the village in a hurry because he got word his mother was very ill. You find your recipe behind a cabinet. All is good. One good thing that comes out of this is because of what you did for saving the leader, your business has picked up a lot. The End.
At this time, I don't know if there will be a sequel or not. Check back on this thread for future updates.

If we're going for a game that I think would actually satisfy people I want a fire emblem-esque combat where you're a warden commander (but not that warden commander) or some Warden leader and the game covers the schism with the wardens, maybe get entangled with another surviving magister or whatever is going on with Weishaupt. You play a pre-determined character with a set backstory and gender but you make a small number of key decisions that affect the wardens which affect what maps you play, who joins you and leaves you with maybe 3 max possible states for the warden and their place in the wardens. This could then go on to vaguely affect how the world state is in future games. Toss in a friendship system like fire emblem or persona where the warden can befriend their teammates (but preferably not everyone in one run) and I think you'd keep the Dragon Age feel.

1) A Tactics game (as above) - this one sort of explains itself 2) Something similar to Darkest Dungeon where you're managing a troop of Grey Wardens delving in to deep roads and other hostile areas (4-6 units at a time for some reason). I try to convince people to do these all the time but so far no traction

I actually had a similar thought! And instead of it being solely a troop of Grey Wardens, instead you were sending groups of adventurers into different parts of the Deep Roads. Except instead of acquiring easily curable diseases and mental illnesses, they could become Blighted, which would necessitate killing them. They could also succumb to lyrium addiction or demonic possession or poisoned.
