I mean, yeah? But they never incorporate the interesting stuff from the ancillary media into the games in any kind of meaningful way. It's all just coddx shit or minor references in dialogue that the player has to dig for. "Oh hey, we have this character who has a unique magical gift never before seen in our series (called DRAGON AGE) that lets her talk to and control DRAGONS. How about we put her in DAI, but make her Tranquil, and her only function is to provide some minor worldbuilding and then die." Where is it stated she died? Nowhere. I think it's a safe enough assumption.

I mean she's in the Chantry usually where everyone went to evacuate, and I imagine Cassandra wants to watch over her due to their past (especially after losing the other in the Conclave).

And no, Nosferatu (ie. Solas) doesn’t count.

Can't you find her in Skyhold? It's been a while since I played the game, but I'm sure she's there...or have I gone mad?

I think BioWare is rather of the opinion that fat and/or very muscular elves are not, in fact, a thing. They've had plenty of opportunity in ancillary media and art to show races with different body types if they were so inclined. I mean I don't think anyone wants the elves to look like Jay Cutler. I just want them to look strong enough to hold a great sword.

I like the DAI elves the most, but I'd prefer less skinny body types. Expecially the male bodyes had definitely problems. I'm all for slim man, but DAI elf man were one step from malnutrition.
I'd like for elves to have shiny eyes like cats as books had mentioned.
I'm still happy as long as we don't get DA2 elves. I still find them creepy after all this time.

I just want them to look strong enough to hold a great sword. I had to google Jay Cutler, but I have no problem with elves looking like that. I think the old criticism of them being "just humans with pointy ears" is... meh? Changing their appearance doesn't make them any less human in a fundamental sense. A group does not need to be "non-human" to be discriminated against and forced into ghettos or a nomadic lifestyle, humans do that to each other anyway. I'd be perfectly fine with a CC that gave elves all the same cosmetic options as humans. And for that matter, I would be fine with being able to make a shorter, slimmer Qunari, or tweak the body type of dwarves.

Origina elf design was horrible, just a tad shorter human with pointy ears, DA2 went a bit too far but liked it more. DAI definitely looked the best but yeah the body especially for the male elves was dreadful. For females it was ok but was too skinny.

I remember reading somewhere the design for the elves was meant to represent their degradation since the fall of Arlathan. Be that as it may, I don't want to play a scrawny elf. A scrawny elf that walks as if holding in jet streams of diarrhea. I played 2 elves so far and had to have mods on, if only to try and correct the situation.
Slender as in lithe. Slim but not malnourished (although considering the alienages, I suppose there's an argument for that). But then again, so many elves of both sexes have been used as sex toys by humans, one would assume there was a greater allure to them. Something akin to the attraction to teenagers perhaps? and please, no more rabbit ears! Leaf shaped is how Tolkien described the Quendi's ears. Although to be fair, the Dragon Age elves are a far cry from the Eldars...

On the elf front in the ancillary media, beyond Lazarro in Dawn of the Seeker there are some other examples - There's also Slim Couldry, albeit he is elf-blooded, not an elf, and in the games.

Leaf shaped is how Tolkien described the Quendi's ears. Although to be fair, the Dragon Age elves are a far cry from the Eldars... A very far cry. Also since one of the derogatory terms for elves in Thedas is "rabbit" the ears may be deliberate. Mind you there is a reference to Tilda's "leaf-eared lover" in the old Avvar poem, so clearly they see elf ears as leaf-like. I think that there should be a difference between Dalish elves, who are generally live a healthier if still a hard lifestyle, compared with the city elves. Of course that would mean they would have to have three variants: Ancient, Dalish and City, and with male and female that would result in six body types for essentially one race. So I'd settle for having lithe but not anorexic modern elves. I used to dislike the DA2 facial model but I have to admit that the Evanuris look so strange in the mosaics of them that giving the elves an alien look actually made sense. On the whole, though, I think I'd rather just go back to the DAO look, with slightly larger eyes because everyone mentions that as well as the ears. In DAI Sera looked okay, as did Briala, and both were meant to have been city elves originally, so it is clear that it is possible to program a decent body for female elves using Frostbite. As for male elves why not use this model, as found in the Core Rule Book?

I want elven facial hair But I'm really hoping that DA4 is going to nail down the designs of each race FOR GOOD. So tired of qunari and elves especially looking different in each game and comic.

It would make sense to play as a buff elf in DA4. It fits with the theme of old Elven power returning.

Facial hair is another interesting one. The lore says they don't, per Fenris-Varric banter, but we have inconsistencies, oversights or exceptions in Sarel and Yevven.

I hope they go back to DAO version - smaller, but still well-proportioned, fit when they need to be (Zev is RIPPED), and pudgy in some cases (they all have one body model, but some have rounder faces). Elves in later games don't look like they can lift anything heavier than a flower crown, much less a weapon. And please, please give them back their shoes, "barefeet elves" is the dumbest retcon in the games. There's an argument that DAO elf design isn't "distinct" enough, but personally, I never had a problem with telling them apart from humans, both by face and silhouette.

In the beginning I made some very handsome male elves in the CC but once I saw their horrifying body, I had to stop my play-through and wait for mods to fix that nightmare fuel.

I usually dislike this type of topics because people use a lot of words to say one thing: "I want the people in my game to look pretty" But honestly, should anyone be pretty ? Why ? What benefit does that bring to turn everyone into eye candy ? I'd rather have an improved version of the DA2 elves. It's silly to think that two completely different species would look and behave so similarly. The DAO elves are humans in every single way but the pointy ears. Oh right, they're generally shorter as well I'd rather have the elves look alien, strange, different and diverse. Sure, some elves can be pretty and others can be horrific to even look at. It brings an element of functioning realism when people don't look like a Deviant Art gallery.

DAI had a decent elf form. Far better than DA2's World of Warcraft (but barefoot) look. DAO looked an awful lot like humans but meh I didn't mind.
