1) Will we be able to see cheese wheels in random places again? oh and... 2) Would you buy DAO remastered/FullHD/4K with that 2008/9 crusty audio? Serious discussion here, only.

While it would be nice to play DA:O without having to put in the DVD I've become very dubious about remasters - increasing graphical fidelity is fine, but far too often developers somehow feel the need to accompany the graphical changes with additional changes to core gameplay. They arbitrarily decide that Sten can only wear leather armor, or that Winter's Grasp is no longer effective against beasts... something like that.
More important, I suspect that a remaster will not support mods, which is a deal breaker for me.

1) Probably, because BioWare and its fanbase love repeating the same joke over and over, long past the point that it stopped being funny.
2) Not unless they add more gay shit.

The cheese has killed before... It will kill again. I'd love a DA:O remaster myself, though unfortunately I think it's unlikely to happen. While the MET was made in Unreal, DA:O & DA2 were made with an in-house engine they don't use anymore. I'm guessing they'd have to remake the entire game in Frostbite, which would be a large and expensive project.

To the first, almost certainly.
To the second, I believe I mentioned in the "Dragon Age Confessions" thread some years ago, that I would pay full retail price for the base game, Awakening and the DLCs for a Frostbite remaster - although, as Hrungr mentioned above, it would technically be a full remake and hence, highly unlikely - of Dragon Age Origins. In fact, I'd probably pay twice that.

The only ones I'm familiar with have done upscaling, with varying levels of quality, and haven't changed or fixed, anything.

1: most likely...I still don't get the cheese thing though, is it some kind of Canadian thing?
2: Highly probable, I needed very little excuse to do a new pt for DA:O, I just hope they don't change/remove things.
My thought

Can you point to remasters that have done this? The only ones I'm familiar with have done upscaling, with varying levels of quality, and haven't changed or fixed, anything. Warcraft 3 Reforged is one such example. Many of the game's original campaign missions have been radically altered, sometimes remade completely, in other instances rebalanced so that difficulty is reduced. It is rumoured that the forthcoming Mass Effect series remaster will feature entirely new game sections, and a total revamp of Mass Effect 1's combat to be more like that of ME:3. Skyrim Remastered changed sprinting behaviour, and uses an entirely different save system.
Command & Conquer Remastered added numerous quality of life changes, such as unit queing, new control systems, along with a raft of improvements to AI scripting, along with a new inferface, and an entirely different save system.

Thanks. The only one of those I've played is Skyrim SE. Shows you how often I've used sprint . While it would be nice to play DA:O without having to put in the DVD You can add both DAO and DA2 to your Origin library to download and play without disc. I've added them myself, but haven't installed and tested for various reasons.

You can add both DAO and DA2 to your Origin library to download and play without disc. I've added them myself, but haven't installed and tested for various reasons. I tried that. No problems with DA:2, but in the case of DA:O, it just doesn't seem to work properly. Much of the DLC is not recognised or installed, and even when I use various suggested workarounds to install everything manually, it still doesn't work. After a fair amount of experimentation I just decided to go back to the Ultimate Edition DVD in the knowledge that it works as it's supposed to.
