Umm, I've been playing Persona 5 and watching My Hero Academia lately, and have seen NONE of that! Hell, I can't claim to have watched a whole lot of anime, but from what little I've seen, the villains tend to be depraved would-be rapists while male and female heroes tend to fight side-by side on generally equal footing. Having enjoyed P5R so often, I could make a case for the "sexual ethics" part, particularly in regards to one confidant, but...it'd be a flimsy case at best.
Friendly reminder again - please do not feed trolls that decide to wander into this thread, looking to cause problems. We don't need this thread getting locked again please. Thank you.
I'm sorry, are you implying I'm trolling...? I don't think we even disagree on the fundamental point that the guy who pulled up a bunch of anime pictures and complained about Ciri's jawline is full of rubbish.

Yes things were getting a little bit racist, let's pull back from there. Pointing at a specific subset of anime and claiming that's the entire Japanese market is like me pointing at booktok and saying that's the entire scope of English literature now - there's problems with both sure but hyperbole doesn't help the discussion lol. (And yes, the point of 'it's fiction' is very true).

I enjoyed Persona 5, but it did a lot to sexualize Ann, who is 16. The character in question is fictional and not real, dude. You murder people in GTA doesn't mean you are a criminal irl. I think there's quite obviously a difference between those two things, but I'll drop it - We're getting away from the original topic of the thread.

Just don't take everything you see in fiction seriously. It makes you schizophrenic.

At this point I assume any AAA game is going to suck until I hear otherwise from reviews I truest. Don't even need reviews. If people are on the fence, there's a bunch of streamers that play the game on launch. I use them to check out whether the game looks technically decent and not too buggy and whether the game itself looks interesting What else would one need?

I don't get the current jaw obsession. And I think Ciri looks fine, but that's just me I guess! I could tell it was Ciri right away and said that she's gotten older. Plus, she's Emhyr's daughter - the man isn't exactly a prime spectacle of "divine beauty" himself, so she's bound to still inherit a bit of his traits as she gets older. EDIT: Meaning, I also think she looks fine!
Second, regarding the Trials of the Grasses - it's not that women were banned from doing it, it's that no School ever tried it. And while Geralt and Vessimir were curious, they weren't going to subject Ciri to it as a guinea pig just to see how she'd react to it. So, if she has undergone it (because I'm not 100% sure she did it, but...that really did look like the Cat potion, so... *shrugs*), then she found someone willing to either do it to her, or she's procured a way to do it to herself.
Third - remember folks - don't feed the trolls that wander into this thread. Thank you
Yep, get the feeling she probably got through them fast though, her being in this game means she survived the white frost of course, and imagine her elder blood means while probably painful still to even Ciri, the trials were probably quite endurable and made her adaptable. Also wonder if she took the witcher path in the W3 epilogue as I kinda suspect her stopping the frost sapped some of her epic world saving powers as her destiny was technically fulfilled and now probably has powers more akin to the lodge of sorceresses (so still pretty powerful but not god-like) and probably can't do space and time anymore. I could tell it was Ciri right away and said that she's gotten older. The worst part about that Witcher 4 trailer is knowing CDProjekt only recently went into full production, so it's probably 3 years away Yeah they made the announcement last month. Guess it depends on how much technical groundwork they laid before full production, but even if they did plenty it'll still be at least 3 years, yeah. They won't want another CP2077 incident. That game, incidentally, IMO went full No Man's Sky with its transformation from mess to greatness - I really like it now, I got a launch PS5 so played the PS4 version on that but it was still a mess. Playing a full playthrough here and there (between newer games) and love it.
