Apologies as I'm sure a thread for this book already exists, but couldn't find it.
I just finished listening to the audio book of The Last Flight and it was such a great and tragic story. I knew the major plot points from forum lurking and never found much reason to read it, but I had a lot of audible credits to use and the recent BTS at Bioware video rekindled my interest in Dragon Age. I'm glad I finally heard the actual story because it was well written and the narrator gave a great performance for the most part.
I live in the part of the U.S. that is being affected by wild fires right now, and it put a different lens on the book for me. It was a little surreal listening about the people fleeing their homes from the blight while I had my own stuff packed in case I needed to evacuate my home. (Thankfully, the fire never got close enough that we /needed/ to leave, but I watched many neighbors pack a car and get out) I found myself drawing comparisons to real and fictional events and I could feel the fear of the characters. At times I was even unable to continue the book because certain things hit a little too close to home.
I'm greatly looking forward to weisshaupt in the next game and hope we get to meet Valya, Caranel, and of course the gryphons!
Isseya was a great character too, I loved her determination, wit, and perseverance.
Also, could Davrin be one of the first gryphon riders in centuries?

Also, could Davrin be one of the first gryphon riders in centuries? Could our PC become a gryphon rider? I suppose it depends on the Frostbite engine. They can certainly show flying creatures, so I suppose Davrin could make a dramatic entrance on the back of a gryphon. However, it depends when the game is set. At present it seems around 3 years after the events of Last Flight, so would the gryphons be full grown by then? So may be we'll just get to pet them. We could find out the origins of the gryphons though. The Fog Dancers claim they came from Seheron but may be that was just one group.

I'm kind of expecting something like a 3-5 year jump. Maybe they won't be all grown up, but old enough to train with riders. Crookytail wasn't fully grown when he became partners with garahel. Unless we are grey wardens or we do something huge for the grey wardens I can't imagine us getting griffins of our own. But i could see us being second rider on a mission or something
