There's also no particular reason to believe that Thedas is anything like Earth in any respect, but here you are, with your petty gripes about how one ability in a video game was enough to derail your entire experience, because it doesn't conform to your baseless assumptions about how Thedas works, or your narrow, blinkered view of what's "realisitic". If you don't like fantastical stuff, don't play fantasy games. Oh, I love this argument. "OMG, the story has dragons in it! Why would you assume that the humans have noses or teeth in their mouths or take shits when the characters' teeth have never been described and they're never shown visiting the bushes?! It's fantasy! You can't expect anything! Just sit down, pop your brain out, and enjoy whatever it offers! Unless someone somewhere thinks it vaguely implies something they disagrees with politically, of course. Then the content is obviously evil and you're evil too for liking it." Again though, we've seen enough of Thedas' underground to know for a fact that they have underground lava rivers. That's the sort of thing you can, say, base an assumption that Thedas' underground lava is being referenced on. Making such an assumption... not baseless! Whereas nobody has ever expressed or implied anything to the effect of "The earth must be made entirely out of Titans!". Making such an assumption actually baseless. In addition to being irrelevant to the discussion. Which isn't to say that you can't have a great time speculating about Thedas' Earth potentially being made entirely out of Titans. It's an intriguing thought. You just can't try to use that idea as a defense for something in the games. Certainly not while accusing others of making unsupported assumptions. It's a vastly better argument than "grown men should spend their free time bitching about tectonic plates, ladies with too many muscles, and sex workers in Ancient Greece not behaving like I think they should". I didn't say that people should "shut their brains off", in fact, I'd argue that the people complaining about fantasy works not obeying Earth "rules" actually need to turn theirs on. Maybe then I would see less bullshit arguments about tectonic plates or the etymology of the term "punching bag" from people who, in reality, just want a foothold to start arguing that fantasy should conform to their personal standards. I haven't assumed anything, I've only pointed out perfectly viable alternatives to your assumptions. If you admit that I can speculate freely about the presence of Titans, then you also admit that *you don't have any actual basis for your claims*. I don't need to "defend" anything. Your whole argument was based on a flawed premise to begin with: namely, that because Thedas appears to resemble Earth in some aspects, that it must resemble Earth in another, specific aspect.

1) It's a vastly better argument than "grown men should spend their free time bitching about tectonic plates, ladies with too many muscles, and sex workers in Ancient Greece not behaving like I think they should". 2) I didn't say that people should "shut their brains off", in fact, I'd argue that the people complaining about fantasy works not obeying Earth "rules" actually need to turn theirs on. Maybe then I would see less bullshit arguments about tectonic plates or the etymology of the term "punching bag" from people who, in reality, just want a foothold to start arguing that fantasy should conform to their personal standards. 3) I haven't assumed anything, I've only pointed out perfectly viable alternatives to your assumptions. If you admit that I can speculate freely about the presence of Titans, then you also admit that *you don't have any actual basis for your claims*. 4) I don't need to "defend" anything. Your whole argument was based on a flawed premise to begin with: namely, that because Thedas appears to resemble Earth in some aspects, that it must resemble Earth in another, specific aspect. 1) That's not an argument, it's an assertion, and not one I think anybody has ever made. Fancy that. You're really great at sticking to the point, you know. 2) You're the one who keeps bitching about tectonic plates. I just used the words to illustrate what I meant about the sort of feat the ability represents requiring far beyond inhuman strength. As I've already stated, I never gave a shit about whether or not tectonic plates are actually part of the equation, it's totally irrelevant to my point. And nobody is arguing that fantasy should conform to anything except its own rules. Except for you, obviously, and your arbitrarily applied politics. Tsk tsk. 3) No, you haven't. You've tried to argue why I shouldn't feel entitled to have any expectations at all about what's under any of my characters' feet. I've yet to hear you actually posit an alternative to the fire in that ability representing what it obviously does. "The Earth is made of Titans!" wouldn't explain that fire even if it was actually true. And no, accepting that something could someday be shown to be the case is not the same as you not having reason to expect things based on what you already know for a fact. Such as that there is lava underground in Thedas. 4) Nobody said you needed to do anything. Just that you're certainly doing it. And for the fifth time, my argument is based on the perfectly accurate and demonstrable premise that Thedas has lava far underground, and no obvious closer available underground fire source. If you pretend that that isn't a fact one more time then I'll count it as evidence that you're starting to have trouble reading, or at least paying attention more than a few words at a time. PC: Wanna take a dip in the glowing orange stuff? Leske: Fuck off. I'd cook to death before even touching the surface. PC: Pfff. You have no reason to assume that's lava. We don't know Thedas conforms to "Earth"'s rules. Leske: Huh. Guess you're right. *jumps*

^ Get a room you two.
I always assumed the yellow stuff in the caves was tainted old god piss, that would also explain why the dwarves are so grumpy and especially angry at darkspawn. Imagine the smell.

Does anyone played middle earth shadow of war before? What do you think if they have a class that can summon a griffon or drake or other mount and still able to shoot spells/arrows or melee attack with mount/weapon. Sometimes it felt cool to just charge into battle, trample the 1st wave, and able to use abilities. Let's call it beast master.
