I say - it matters somewhat. Humor helps to soften the blows of every day horror & banality while being far less harmful than coke and heroine, and in social situations it helps to playfully probe other peoples brain without having to resort to annoying question spreadsheets, tactless test programs and potentially lethal surgical procedures. Though I don't get why humor seems to make it to the top of peoples lists of important stuff so often, its like everyone wants comedians to rule the world.

I’d say it’s very important. It is less important that other people find your humour amusing. If this year has taught me anything it is that laughing is infinitely preferable to crying. In other words, your own sense of humour, whatever it might be, helps with daily life in any number of ways.

Recently YouTube decided to recommend me 16 sec video of the most pathetic elevator chime. As stupid as it sounds, I laughed about it whole day and it helped me survive rather hard day at work.
So, yeah. It's definitely important to have some sense of humor, no matter how wacky it might be. For your own good.

A sense of humour is very important, either that or be skilled in biting sarcasm. Also having a ready supply of glib comebacks, potentially naughty comments and a lengthy list of profanities is helpful too.

It's not only important to have one, it's just as important to know if you DON'T have one, otherwise you come across as annoying.
Another critical distinction (in my observations) is the difference between humor, wit, and sarcasm.
Humor is absurd; funny is funny because it (almost literally) short-circuits our logic centers.
Wit is clever; it can turn a heavy situation into a light one through elegant phrase.
Sarcasm is seratted; it comes from the Greek, roughly translating to "tear flesh like dogs". The line between insulting and sarcastic is very thin and perforated.
In my opinion, there's too much sarcasm but not enough humor or wit. It is WAY too easy for sarcasm to hurt someone's feelings; and while it's no secret I'm not a fan of snowflakes there's a difference between being willfully weak and therefore taking offense at everything, and being deliberately insensitive.
Following that, it requires a measure of internal strength (that anyone can obtain) to both use humor and tolerate jokes one may personally not like.
To keep it short, humor and wit build and lighten, sarcasm tears down.
You need all three, in my opinion, and the wisdom on how to use them.

You need all three, in my opinion, and the wisdom on how to use them. And most importantly, WHEN to use them. I know too many people who joke and make witty remarks all the time and I can hardly think of anything more tiring and annoying than that. Humor needs to be enjoyed like good beverage, in moderation, at the right time in the right situation. Most people I know have humor yet very few have the ability to restrain it when necessary.

God bless Sarcasm.
Made a girl laugh with that once actually. I think, coulda been a million other things, and I just kind of let that wisdom loose aloud in the room.

If we banned or restricted sarcasm, my sister in law wouldn't have anything to say...
Not sure that's a good thing. She'd likely explode and then we would all be sad.

I'm not saying we go left-wing/Nazi/big-tech censorship on sarcasm. Freedom of speech carries the price of letting EVERYONE say what they wish. It's simply the consequences following what can be said that I've discovered not many people comprehend. Words can hurt. Yes, we are accountable for how we react to things, but we can also be responsible in how (and IF) we throw cutting words around. Me and my sensibilities...

And it is just so much fun to laugh well off course it is you're laughing ... i hope you know what i mean. My friends say that i have an infectious laughter and so does one of my friends have. Because when she laughs i laugh with her and there were times that i had no idea what she was laughing about at that time but i didn't mind. Laughter would be nice if I understood the human races sense of humor. I almost never get anything that people find funny.
For me there has to be an underlying irony or there is no basis for it to be humorous to me.
For example it took me a decade to understand Knock knock jokes and that is sometimes even a crap shoot.

I actually was concerned at first. Don't take this wrong but it looks more like she is having troubles in the 'going 2' department.
But it doesn't give me a smile... not even a chuckle.
I am sure that isn't normal but that is me.
I think it boils down to this: THIS is the way I see other peoples' emotions and most likely the way they see mine. Unless the emotion is greatly exaggerated most look the same to me.
But let me give it to you this way:
The guy in black is me with MORE emotion.

Well she obviously ( at least to me ) has a lot of fun in that gif. Again there's nothing wrong with you and you are totally normal. That's Jamie Hyneman i really liked that show that they did "MythBusters" a lot of times they blew stuff up. But i've seen him smile though although not as much as Adam Savage. I agree, Gal Gadot has an infectious laugh and even without sound.....Seeing that expression light up her face even silently without sound is quite up-lifting. Who is Gal Gadot? Are you kidding me ... you obviously do not see a lot of movies because Gal Gadot is an Israeli actress and she's known for her role as Wonder Woman.

That is him.
He is just more emotional than me. The best person to match me and my INTJ personality doesn't exist in the real world. However fictional character would be Bruce Wayne or Raven from DC comics. From the original series: The animated batman series or the ORIGINAL teen titans series. No not kidding you.
Have not watched movies in nearly 5 years. The last movie I saw was Avengers: Age of Ultron.
Life for me is busy and don't have time to watch TV or movies. I do usually watch reviews by a certain person -though about six months after movies come out. They however don't show pictures so any actor or actress that has shown up since most likely would be beyond my range of knowing. Also thank you for my humor makes the Knight Rider car seem funny. Another cool point of interest about Gal Gadot is that she served 2 years with the Israeli Defense Forces.....so she really can kick butt. Every person in Israel is required to serve in the IDF.
