Did the DWR teaser trailer from TGA 2018 count as a world premier? I can't remember Just checked, and it was indeed a World Premiere. In this case, I highly doubt it’ll be considered as such, so it shouldn’t be present at the pre-show. I’ll watch it anyway because it’s just 30 minutes, and they might still show interesting new games.

Not necessarily the pre-show itself.

Mass effect 3 kind of just did the auto dialogue thing to avoid it. Which is better. If you're not expecting the dialogue choice to be meaningful in expressing the player's character* or making a story decision, why have it? Just out of inertia and expectation?
* this encompasses a very broad range of responses of course.
The point of Bioware's style dialogue choices is/was to allow different tones so you could define a personality for your character. But action-adventure games with an edgy preset character and character stats sell better than real RPGs do, so bye, bye tone choices.

I kind of disagree, depending on which IP you're talking about when you say "tones." Paragon/renegade isn't really about "defining a personality for your character" but about gameplay - providing some narrative choice/consequence.
Tones in DA haven't really had gameplay function, so I'd agree that they help roleplaying. And also I'll point out that Inquisition had them (much expanded from ][, in fact)

SWTOR does the same thing.

They are still in 2 and 3, diplomatic/jerk get turned into paragon/renegade in more cases and neutral is not always there thought when that happens (unlike in ME1).

With dialogue, I definitely prefer how DAI and MEA handled it with them being based off tones but also not tying choices to said tones.

Yeah but as I said it's tied to the P/R system so it turns into a gameplay system and really isn't about "roleplaying" anymore. If there's a criticism to be made there, it's between ME1 and 2, both of which are over a decade old by now.

I feel like the both of them leaving at the same time is a little odd, and cause for some concern. I'm still super excited about what's to come though, and hope everyone remains happy and healthy! I wish this was the more common attitude on the Mass Effect side of the forums. Let's wait for now. After DAI I feel a bit more hopeful for DA4.

Except the usual vitriol and the same circular arguments that have been had for years. The DA section is generally much more positive and open to discussion.

And it remaining that way would likely depend on DA4. I think it would remain that way depending on the maturity of the fans. If there is none, then the same vitriol and "debating" would continue beyond Covid-21. Developers are not evil monsters trying to push their proboscises inside our wallets. It's important to understand the problems that our games show in a reasonable manner and make well founded and decent criticisms, rather than just trying to insult or diminish not just the creators but the people who choose to support the efforts to make these games. Then again, as a cool dude says on youtube: das jus me tho.

One always wonders about these 'leavings' and why people leave. Is it just time to go or has the studio upper echelon start meddling to the point of 'I do not want to work here any more'.

They can signal a sign of trouble, but the flip side those concerns - to me - is a worthwhile question of: "How long does a developer need to stay at a studio for you to not worry about them leaving?" I honestly dont think it would have mattered if Darrah or Casey left before, during, or after DA4 development. Fans probably would have saw this as a sign of the Apocalypse. I dont know what the final product will look like. I'm planting my feet in the heavily skeptical crowd, and I wont be budged until I see the finished product.

If it was something like that, I'm sure someone like Jason Schreier would've said something by now. Say what you will about the guy, his information is good.
