I have no issue with the way guns feel and sound in the game. I actually thought it was one of the stronger aspects, along with their visual design. The AI is a different matter.

So I finished Cyberpunk the night before last. Don't regret getting it, but didn't love it.
V decided to not risk any Aldecaldo lives to save hers and went with Hanako's plan. Woke up on the moon or something with the Worst Bedside Manner In The World Doctor. Chose to live free and true for a short while longer, rather than as a digital ghost.
It was interesting. A better game, in my opinion, than TW2, but falls far short of TW3. Perhaps bugs and issues I didn't notice played into that. In my entire playthrough I had only two or three crashes (right at the start, while I was still tweaking graphical options for best performance) and one glitch (that I noticed) where I beat the breach mini-game to save Nix in Kold Mirage, but nothing happened and I couldn't do anything until I killed the power breaker by the door (which ruins the deck). Good looking, for sure, but not the visual masterpiece I was expecting/hoping for. Really didn't like the music, but that speaks more to my general distaste for the cyperpunk setting, rather than the quality of the music itself, I think.
Main story was well told, but side content...ooof...just, no. Some of it was interesting; like the guy that signed up to be crucified for a BD, but for the most part, I thought the side content was average at best.
So DE:HR followed by DE:MD remain my favoured cyberpunk games. Will likely check back with CP2077 for a future play through when it is a more polished state, but for all the hype and anticipation and - worst of all - "coming when it's ready", it is, at best; a 6/10 for me.

After reading this and watching a few "six month later reviews" recently for I was thinking of picking up Cyberpunk my decision is that I am going to wait a year or so more for a "complete edition". I am just not sure if I will complete the game if I purchase it now.

That space station ending kills me. The fact that I can't just grab a nurse and throttle them to death, or at least skewer her with my mantis blades is endlessly aggravating. Even better, skewer Hellman.

The space station ending was my favorite (well and V living in cyberspace but that got ruined by following Johnny in Vs body). It felt the most cyberpunk, especially taking their offer (especially if Takemura is alive).

I kinda hated it, but it was an ending I felt suited the Corpo most. No way would my 100% anti-corp Nomad take the Arasaka route, especially with a powerful AI in her back pocket. Takemura’s fate is unfortunate, but a single corpo lapdog is a small price to pay to ruin Saka.

I never really felt I had to look to hard for good elements. Disappointingly compared to tw3 I did find it a bit too shallow. I could have lived with that if it had delivered endings with agency. Unless that changes no complete edition will interest me.

Comrade's Hammer is my fav weapon. A bit OP though. No wonder - I always gravitate to pistol use in the game. Which is fine but limits the replayability. Compared to Fallout open world I think the urban world is at limits on how good exploration gets. It's a different thing spotting a landmark in a more rural landscape and determine "I wanna go up there" and trying to find a dark alley with a secret backyard in a street maze. The city conceils itself before the eye. Next thing you see is the next block and on and on. And then there is the issue of the million doors that are close but in between a couple hundred that open. It's much, much worse in older GTAs, Mafia 1 or similar urban open worlds where the city is mrerely just a facade except for the few story places.
CP2077 does the urban world very well, imo, but it's not a breakthrough in urban world shaping.

So, apparently, River Ward can go to prison, and he will send V a message in a jumpsuit in the credits. To get this outcome, you have to fail to get enough information to pin down where Peter Pan is keeping Randy, and Randy potentially dies if you waste time pinning down which property he’s being kept in. River later will get into a scuffle over someone stating that Randy had it coming, or possibly enjoyed it.

I feel like this weapon is ideal for a combatant that also has to traipse about in a city. The weapon type I steer clear from are smart weapons. They’re neat and high tech, but they’re so cheesy I don’t get the satisfaction of landing precision shots myself. It’s just too much of an easy mode loadout. Johnny’s Malorian is kind of a disappointment. The nifty flourish of its reload animation just isn’t enough to offset its disappointing power outside of the flashbacks.

In the table top a smart weapon increases your dice roll to hit the enemy. Kinda hard to do that in video game. Aim assist maybe, or like Skippy - only smarter: shoot automatically once the aim is over the enemy, no trigger pull necessary, that's how it's explained in the "lore". They went with homing projectiles instead. Looks flashy but is very slow, especially with shotguns - too slow, imo.

The first smart weapons that become available are pretty bad, yeah. The "Chao" smart pistol starts dropping around level 13-15 iirc, it's the first smart weapon worth using. Skippy can be picked up after "The Heist", always stays on-level, and is lethal (no pun intended) in "stone-cold killer" mode. The "L-69 Zhuo" smart shotgun is pretty good. Projectile behaviour can be a bit erratic (muzzle velocity is lower compared to smart pistols/SMGs), but with a bit of talent support it works nice. The legendary version of it (Ba Xing Chong) turns CP2077 into Doom, lol.
Smart SMGs are nice, but the regular versions are overshadowed by the (generally speaking) easy access to their legendary counterparts - Divided we stand, Shingen Mk V, Yinglong. I haven't played a Hacking character yet, but I think smart SMGs allow for the fastest gameplay. 100% crit, as many bonuses to crit damage as you can get. Shooting + reloading while sprinting + all reload speed bonuses you can grab (almost makes the reload animation glitch out). F*ck everything in all directions, lol.

I did another playthrough on very hard. Honestly it was hard the first 20 level then it's fairly easy. I also did the "Don't Fear the Reaper/Sun" ending, I always went avocados, I tried with V alive/ Johnny alive. Never felt so good about that ending, because my street kid V wasn't nomad material, and I don't like getting the nomad killed. I was pleasantly surprised with the Sun. I could still see Panam and tell her maybe we'll get back together when V is healed. Rogue was alive as well and I could talk a bit about Johnny. Even the messages were nice, Saul call me an "avocadoes" (so you can join the clan anytime). Takemura still implies Sepuku but can't win them all. Misty tarot reading is also really hopeful implying you'll succeed the final heist. So yay.

Doesnt even have its Aoe anymore nor shoots through cover. Cover piercing is kinda mandatory. Tried the Intelligent gun to score limb damage and it was a real pain. Got it now tho. Also upgraded gfx drivers and plants render now correctly. However the game seems to like to crash at specific locations - no idea why. All in all, the first couple weeks it was the smoothest sailing in the game. Ever after some patch broke the game in some way.

Craft a bunch of Ashura sniper rifles and then sell them. Merchant inventory's restock after waiting 72 hours I found. Legengary Ashura sells for around 3000, not sure what lower tiers sell for.

I also sold a lot of quickhacks legendary and otherwise. Unfortunately I've exhausted all crafting items ro buy my previous 5 cars. The only option left is, I think, attack all remaining non-hostile gonks in the city and look for ongoing crimes (the ones only visible on minimap).

If you don't mind the grind, crafting is a great source for those eddies. Craft a bunch of Ashura sniper rifles and then sell them. Merchant inventory's restock after waiting 72 hours I found. Legendary Ashura sells for around 3000, not sure what lower tiers sell for. Been there, there's a jacket that sells for a 1000 eds and requires only gray and green components. The only option left is, I think, attack all remaining non-hostile gonks in the city and look for ongoing crimes (the ones only visible on minimap). I'm pretty sure junk shops sell common components, probably uncommon as well. I was crafting the legendary Ashura, so even if I purchased 5 to 10 thousands eddies worth of components, I ended up with at least 20 thousands eddies worth of sniper rifles (its was probably more than that but I figured I'd go with a low estimate). Crafting components are actually quite a bit cheaper than what the item will be worth, crazy to say compared to TW3 or pretty much any other game with this type crafting/inventory management. I still get nightmares about Grandmaster Witcher armor. LOL.

I just can't get into this game. I thought this was my fault, and it is... I can't get past certain aspects of this game. It is too obviously video-gamey.
What do I mean? The broken AI is everything. 10 minutes into the open world, and I just get exhausted by the stupidity of the world and its citizens. And I quit.
I last played 7 months ago. Really expected that we would have gotten more in that time from CDPR. They have toasted their entire brand for me - I will not buy GOG games anymore unless it is a title I cannot find anywhere else. I will not buy CDPR games new again, or at full price. They will have to be a bundled and discounted actual GOTY game for me to consider throwing cents on the dollar at them.
It is amazing the damage some corpo cunts can do to the lives and mentalities of the developers who made the game for them and us. I have no anger with developers, but the Corpos can get fucked. They put those devs through crunch hell just so they could make that release day cash, and the game has not improved significantly since release. Disgusting.
Still, I am glad some of you can find the fun in it. Too much work for me dog.
