SpaceX is making progress on Starship. NASA is making their return to the Moon an international effort with Artemis. There are now multiple astronaut themed shows and sci fi shows on TV whereas back in 2012 when ME3 came out there was not one single show or documentary on TV with space travel. Can the next Mass Effect use this new excitement toward space to it's advantage? It seems with the destroy ending could make the civilizations separated from each other leading to a Milky Way galaxy full of mystery and wonder. Could the next Mass Effect be attempt to give us an experience of exploration, mystery, and wonder that they failed to give us with Andromeda?

It could help it a bit. People being inspired or enjoying those shows may be more likely to give ME a go if they hadn't previously. I think the most important thing is making good game. I agree with you on MEA - more exploration would have been nice. My stumbling block is how do you implement exploration in an engaging way? Time limited A to Bs before the sun pops up? Ancient civilisation puzzles? Give planetary and system scans more depth? Pirates!!! I don't know but treading a familiar path in the Milky Way is going to end up with a lot of side by side comparisons with the original trilogy and I'm not sure that would be a good thing.
I could live with them picking the destroy ending - mainly as it used to be my go to. I don't know what the percentage breakdown of ending choices are but taking liberties there will probably annoy some people but what doesn't?

Heres the thing, we've no idea if society will still have this interest like 8 years from now when this game comes out, so it's impossible to say.
