What strikes me as odd is that your GPU V-Core shows 99% Usage (2100Mhz/2730) if I am reading that correctly, but your GPU Temps are only 39C...? Keep in mind that I did that screenshot back on the desktop! The relevant info is the max numbers. So you're looking at idle vs gaming load. It was at 60 something when at max load during gaming. Which still seems fine. I'm just really confused that BG3 at 1440p/60fps maxes out th card unless I read those numbers wrong. I should have a CPU bottleneck over 20% at that resolution according to the bottleneck calculator. I was expecting the card to be bored.

Here are the numbers for FO4: The GPU is sort of bored even though the frame rate is bad because of overmodding. At least here it makes sense. My 1080Ti gets maxed out by FO4, I believe. Slightly lower powr draw. I should have bought Cyberpunk when it was on sale, I could have tested the card with path tracing because I believe it wouldn't hit native 60fps there. If those numbers match the benchmarks then I'll stop worrying about GPU usage numbers.

GPU core can be overloaded with one shader to 100% while its doing mainly nothing. For my eyes the temps and everything seems okay.

OK, so I think it's a modding issue that I just happened to notice after I got the new GPU. I usually don't believe in coincidence with computer issues but... the glitch only happens when I'm standing in one specific spot overlooking my entire huge settlement. I don't think that's screen tearing after all. I never actually had screen tearing so I don't actually know what it looks like. I tried forcing vsync in the Nvidia control panel. Didn't do anything. Adaptive vsync is what caused ACTUAL screen tearing I think. Transparent horizontal shifting of sorts? I've been playing BG3 for 2 hours and no issues. Here's a phone video of the glitch: Tomorrow I will visit another big settlement. If I get this glitch there as well it's definitely new. Could be one of the couple of mods I've added since. Or it's somehow GPU related after all but I'm not going to put in the old one again to check if it still happens. My game is HORRIBLY overmodded and I've had a lot of crashes in building mode with this settlement. My game has become fairly unstable. So perhaps I didn't notice my settlement was getting too huge? If I walk that patch of road facing away from the settlement everything is fine. Any other spot is fine too inside the settlement. It HAS to be related to this settlement or savefile corruption from a bad mod.
Seen this before. Especially in Fallout 4 -which is often when you go texture overload -case in point: I removed the whole starting town and put a Fortress in its place but move and you get that phasing artifacting. This artifacting is usually caused by an incompatible GPU driver. Your using the 536 nvidia driver right? It only supports Windows 11. Fallout 4 made so long ago is probably not going to work with Windows 11 -especially Windows 11 drivers correctly unless you got windows 10 drivers to complement it. Try this nvidia driver that supports both: www.nvidia.com/download/driverResults.aspx/199654/en-us/Other options you can try is to turn off Ambient occlusion, Antialiasing and Antropsphy before running the game.

Did not help. I went to my other huge settlement that has similar huge frame rate drops and no messed up road textures there. I believe it's my current settlement having too much stuff to render. Lots of lights and small details. The second I shift so it's not all in view anymore it goes away. In the other settlement not everything is visible at the same time like here with everything being on and around the lake below. So this is extremely situational and I guess cannot be fixed. I finally managed to build a settlement that kind of breaks the game. Yay?! Thank you all for your input! I will try to finish my build. One building left to furnish and then I'll record around that spot and call it a day and move on to games that aren't so old they don't know what an RTX card is, lol. When I registered the new card in the game launcher it decided it's so weak it only runs on low, lmao! Zero issues with BG3 so far. It's Fallout. Sigh.

I did some further research and supposedly drivers after 440's of nvidia driver line stopped fully supporting Fallout 4. That makes sense. The texture tearing is getting worse and worse. I just overdid it. When I'm away from the settlement I don't have these issues. I doubt there's anything anybody can do. Going to be challenging to showcase this settlement with this glitch. The entire road overlooking the lake bugs out big time. Too much going on. But I put like 60h into building it and it looks so good. I'll just have to cut my losses and do what I can for the video tour. And then move on. Thanks again for looking into it!

I should have bought Cyberpunk when it was on sale, I could have tested the card with path tracing because I believe it wouldn't hit native 60fps there. If those numbers match the benchmarks then I'll stop worrying about GPU usage numbers. This is after about an hour of Cyberpunk 2077. So my Gigabyte RTX 4090 Windforce uses about 198 watts on average, while maxing at 313 watts. My old EVGA RTX 3090 FTW3 Ultra used about 400 watts in comparison. How's that for efficiency? It depends on what resolution you play on and your other graphics settings. On my PC, Cyberpunk can stay above 60 FPS most of the time at 1440p with path-tracing enabled and DLSS set to Quality. Personally, I think the game actually looks better with regular ray-tracing. If you want to try path-tracing (RT Overdrive), I actually recommend enabling Frame Generation (aka DLSS 3.0) as well. It increases input lag but it basically doubles your framerate and you notice a lot less framerate drops.

So this morning, quite randomly....the dreaded *Flashy-thingy* behaviour returned for no reason. Everything was fine last night as of 11:30 pm ET when I shut down my PC and everything has been fine since June 17th when I re-installed Windows. After a few minutes of frustration, I noticed that when the webpages would *flash* (or even Windows environments for that matter such as the WIndows Update page), I also took notice that the speed of the mouse would change from the setting that I had it on and that I like (2400) down to 1200. I noticed this happening four times in a row all by itself without me mistakenly hitting the buttons....so I knew then it was a Logitech issue. I uninstalled the software and have been using Windows Drivers for the last 90 minutes without any issues.
The only thing about the Windows Drivers is that my Mouse speed is stuck at 1200 and I can't change it. A little slower than I like for Gaming purposes, but at least the problem is fixed......For now.
EDIT: Now onto a 2nd Wireless (laptop) Mouse.....and while this one has solved the flashing issue, it is nowhere near as responsive as I need it to be for anything. For example, when wanting to click a certain Game Menu option instead of being right on it and clicking, I hae to be below the one that I want to highlight it and click it.

For example, when wanting to click a certain Game Menu option instead of being right on it and clicking, I hae to be below the one that I want to highlight it and click it. Hmm. As said sometimes its more than one thing causing it. Probably though a Windows Update that updated Logitech drivers -though why MS would do such is beyond reason. Then again right now MS doesn't have much reason. That being said expensive mice are not always the best. I have been using a $20 mouse for years. Its software only have to be run to set it up once everything is saved you can uninstall the software and the mouse holds the information. Set it glow cyan for instance and then uninstall the software and the mouse will continue the cyan glow. The software has as of yet to give me problems: I changed back to a corded Mouse and Keyboard ages ago because of slowness and other issues. Simplistic or sophisticated? I get it. That mouse above is wired as well. Sometimes sophistication is actually a hinderance.

I've finally got the Alienware ultra wide OLED monitor here and it's... seriously underwhelming. I don't understand what the fuss is about aside from deep blacks and you only get an advantage if you raise the black level so much you get some black crush. The colors look almost indentical to my IPS and in a bright room. I can adjust the black levels on the IPS to match the OLED closely (should have done that sooner, I guess). The only advantage I see is getting rid of the IPS glow in a dark room which is 80% of my gaming time. And getting rid of the glow was my main goal. But I'm having a hard time justifying 935€ for this. OK, 175hz instead of 60 makes sense so I can actually put my 4090 to work. No point buying a sports car if you don't race it. But I dunno. I also don't know about ultra wide and curved. Doesn't do anything for me so far. I would prefer a bigger 16:9 screen tbh.
Gamma slider is bugged on the Alienware btw. Dell even admitted it. The recommended 2.4 is WAY too dark but 2.2 is washed out like my IPS on default. 2.0 is actually LESS washed out and I like that best so far.
HDR is also not working right unless I download a firmware update which I probably shouldn't do if I want to maybe return it. So can't really test HDR on BG3, looks extremely washed out. Black becomes gray, lol.
I wish I had more games installed to compare. In any case, I wonder if people had horrible monitors before or what. The colors in creator mode that is supposed to have the most natural colors are the exact same as on my IPS. I even prefer the slightly warmer tint on the IPS but that can be adjusted. Game mode ramps up saturation and looks a little unnatural. Reds would need to be toned down. There's nothing amazing about the colors in BG3. Maybe Cyberpunk would change my mind. But this is not the "omg what an amazing picture" upgrade that everyone on the internet makes it out to be. This monitor is hailed as the best one out there right now and all it has going for it as far as I can see is real black in a dark room. Which is nice, of course. But is it paying almost a grand for nice? Not really tbh. The thing is good gaming IPS monitors cost almost as much as an OLED so I thought this would be a no brainer...
My PC upgrade has been a struggle in every way.
Btw I had blue screen of death today using the new video editing software! Ahhhh. My 3000€ PC is apparently struggling with video editing while my 4790K never crashed my system. The software would crash sometimes but not my computer itself. Yesterday the fans started going crazy and the video started freezing and stuttering badly for a minute before it recovered. I thought video editing would run smooth as butter now! Today the blue screen happened without the fans going crazy. Just out for the blue. I hope the blue screen won't happen again. Happened so fast I couldn't read the error type. I'm using DaVinci Resolve, never used it before. But surely just adding an audio track to my game recording can't be that demanding?! I wasn't doing any special effects. Wasn't even rendering. Just basic editing. I am so confused.
Why did I built this new expensive PC for??

HDR is also not working right unless I download a firmware update which I probably shouldn't do if I want to maybe return it. You can update the firmware and return it as long as it's still within the return period. Even Hardware Unboxed recommends updating the firmware to fix the HDR issues.

OLEDs are amazing for actual TVs (especially the high-end ones from SONY), but as Monitors....I'm not sold on them either. I don't even like HDR settings; it over-saturates everything and blows it way out of realistic proportions... YES black is truly BLACK, but that's about it. Everything else just looks like hyper colour.
For monitors, my money has always been on a good quality IPS panel.

Which version of Davinci Resolve Studio? Is it version 18.5? This version doesn't seem to be very stable and even has high CPU usage with Intel CPUs. Ah yes, it's 18.5, the latest version. So it's the program then. That's good to know, thanks!

OK, so last night I did a proper gaming session. Bumped up the resolution to 5K with DSR and it looks great now! Granted, it still looks like my IPS but with proper blacks. My brain and eyes still need to get used to ultra wide. But I'm really liking it now in a dark room. Not happy about how reflective it is when my blinds are only half down. The pixel refresh every 4h is annoying though. I've had it twice now during a gaming session. If I keep the monitor I'll forever be paranoid about burn it. Games have many static elements on screen and I'm the kind of person who plays one game obsessively start to finish before starting a new one. If it burns it when the warranty is up in 3 years it's the first and last OLED I bought. Way too expensive for such a short life. But maybe it won't be that bad, we'll see.
Annoying issue that I'm not sure what causes it is massive camera stutter in BG3 that wasn't there before. Gave me an instant headache. Thought it might be high fps of 110-130 even on 5K. Capped it to 60, didn't help. Camera stutter isn't new though going by Early Access posts about it. So I'll ignore it. If I turn the camera slowly it's fine. Could be DSR related too, haven't checked yet.
The issue with text is no big deal to me since it's not my work PC. In games it's fine. Not as shart as IPS but not a problem to me. The biggest change is the glossy screen and how it makes everything look a little different.
I'll do the firmware update later. I've never done this for a monitor before, I hope I don't mess it up. Dell recommends using a tablet because the screen will go dark. I assumed I could just an USB pendrive, ölig it in and be done with it, hmmm....
