The “unknown” ones are basically all from that one character lineup image that appeared in the behind the scenes video we got a few months ago. A few, notably the female qunari and the Antivan crow, appear in several other pieces of “party” concept art. It’s thin, but that’s why they’re “possible” companions. Lucanis, Evka, and Strife have all received some build up and been mentioned in two stories each, including the promotional short stories, which makes it seem likely to me that they will appear in the game. Of those three, Lucanis I think is most likely to be a companion since there is a potential Antivan Crow companion that appears in a lot of concept art. Evka and Strife could just be contacts for the Warden and Arlathan plots respectively. You know, I always thought all Qunari had white hair. The wiki seems to say as much, and Bull told us they don't have red heads in Par Vollen. Not to mention that in the comics, they're always depicted as white haired. But then we got the Viddasala and now this dark haired Qunari woman. So I don't truly believe that Viddasala is an actual red head. As far as we know, nothing suggests hair dye doesn't exist in Thedas (How else does Leliana keep her color so vibrant?). The Vitaar that they use on their faces could easily be a way to explain the inconsistency, Plus The Iron Bull has black hair if you look at his eyebrows. But personally, I believe that their hair only consists of anything between black to white. Like you said, all of the comics and previous depictions of them are white haired.

Someone described Thedas from Inquisition and the DA4 trailer as Disneyland - from its colourful, happy world with floating fortresses, colourful enemies and colourful weapons. I think that's the most accurate description you can get from Bioware's materials so far. It's not the Thedas we got to know in DAO and partly in DA2. Origins described Thedas as a world dark, full of betrayal, social and cultural pitfalls, as well as violent and merciless, but with a hint of hope. Thedas used medieval central Europe as its setting and was very close to reality in its world setting, only altering it at crucial points to make it a fantasy crowed role-playing game. What we learned from Origins. There is nothing left of it. If you think that a Hepler "Dragon Age is about equality and family values" now sits in a decisive position, I only see black for Dragon Age in this point. You can see it on the released pictures.

This is Disneyland simply because there are a few brightly coloured magical neon signs in an otherwise dark and sinister looking cityscape? Solas looks like a Disney character here? Princess and the Frog The Hunchback of Notre Dam The Wizard's Apprentice Were you quoting these as other examples of Disney darker look? I've never seen the Princess and the Frog but I've read the Brothers Grimm original. The Hunchback of Notre Dame - I did see this and it did have its moments of "seriously sinister", so I suppose you could equate that one with DAI. Wizard's Apprentice - Do you mean the Sorcerer's Apprentice, also from Fantasia, featuring Mickey Mouse? Anyway, the point I was trying to make was not that Disney could do dark but that I hardly feel the latest trailer justified the criticism that Dragon Age had become too "Disneyfied".

I have been away from the fandom for awhile. What happened that has people disheartened about DA4? You have to understand that Hanako is the eternal pessimist where DA4 is concerned, particularly as the latest trailer pretty much confirmed that the Inquisitor will not be returning as the main protagonist. This does not reflect the general view of the fans here, although we have expressed concern about some aspects of what has been promised. The recent confirmation that they were originally going to have a substantial multi-player element, which has now been dropped in favour of an entirely single-player game, has also received a mixed response because whilst those like myself are glad of the single player focus, we do wonder how much this will effect what we finally see compared with what was originally shown in the concept art and trailers up to now. Also, how much further it might delay release. On the whole, though, if you check through some of the threads you will find a lot of enthusiastic speculation about what has been shown.

In terms of aesthetics, I think people have a fairly blurry memory of what Origins’ approach really was, which was essentially brown=realistic, which is understandable since graphical fidelity was pretty limited at the time. It had its share of colorful, flashy effects however, to counteract the oatmeal through a pixelated filter and the same lumps of organic goo and spikes with skulls that were reused in every environment there was a monster.

I will say that in other concept art we see a white haired qunari woman. I’m not convinced this isn’t the same woman but with the backlighting making her hair seem dark Plus I've always felt this shot had figures copied from elsewhere and then slightly altered to look appropriate to the setting. So the Qunari lady probably was someone who originally had no horns, just as the guy next to her looks more like a commando type with utility belt and walkie talkie sticking up over his shoulder and the figure 4th from the right looks like they are holding a gun over their shoulder, whilst the hooded guy alongside has been borrowed from AC. This was very much a "flavour" shot to encourage further ideas rather than the final line up. There is something almost intensely familiar about all the image isn't there? Especially with the supermodel next to the Qunari lady.

Dragons and big ones is what I want to see. Destrocto Dragons that swoop down and destroy. I want to see Gryphins and Wardens riding them. Bio, don't give me one or ten dragonlets in caves. You keep telling us it's the Dragon Age.
Teasers and concept art is just marketing trying to keep the smoke alive fron the cinders. Expect nothing until 2H of 2022.

DAO had earthy tones but it was by no means more realistic than the next 2 games. Wistful nostalgia striking again.

Better, more coherent story? Probably
Better, more consequential side quests? Most definitely

TLDW: - New Protagonist:
- The new protagonist will likely be a Lord of Fortune(Are you sure?), which have been shown to be human, elf, or dwarf (and presumably qunari)
- The Inquisition has employed Lords of Fortune already in fighting against Fen'Harel (???)
- Varric has continued to serve the Inquisition including working with Lords of Fortune, and will likely return as an advisor
- Possible Companions:
- Evka Ivo (dwarven grey warden)
- Lucanis Dellamorte (antivan crow) (he could be dead.)
- Strife (dalish elf, possibly an agent of the Executors
- A warden
- unknown undead mage (Greater Dead?)
- unknown
hornless qunari (some disscuse this could be Strife) - unknown assasine (could be a agent of the Executors)
- unknown (no clue)
- unknown (tevinter mage?)
- unknown human male (rogue?)
unknown female qunari (Harleyqun)!!!
- unknown human female (mage?)
- Prominent Locations:
- Tevinter - Venatori remnants remain an issue in Tevinter hunted by Tevinter Templars, Fen'Harel's agents are still active
- Unknown Red Lyrium Region - Cold region with Ferelden architecture seen to be infested with red lyrium and red lyrium infected darkspawn
- Antiva - The Qunari have attacked the crows directly, the crows are going on the offensive
- Nevarra City & the Grand Necropolis - No distinct plot threads, but they have been features too prominently not to be relevant
- Weisshaupt Fortress - All available Wardens have been summoned to Weisshaupt for unknown reasons
- Arlathan Forest - Magical disturbances have been occurring in Arlathan forest, in particular around sites connected to Ghilan'nain
- The 'sea monster' is a creation of Ghilan'nain not a god (theory):
- Ghilan'nain herself should still be trapped in the Fade until the Veil is removed, but sites related to her are becoming active
- The giant serpent monster is likely a surviving creation of Ghilan'nain, one of those spared her original extermination, which could explain the magical activity
- The gray pools (Horror of Hormak) are specifically noted to smell of brine, seawater, which could suggest the influence of this sea monster
- The Dread Wolf's Plan:
- Fen'Harel's plan involves using the red lyrium idol, which is likely in his possession
- The plan seems to involve influencing the spirits of the Fade en masse
- Solas is actively encouraging the conflict between the qunari and Tevinter
Some of the Prominent Location could be cut out with the life service element.
We won't get more than one Qunari as companion. And we won't get more than one Companion from extra material.
