It’s a far cry from Tali’s scene. All I could think was thank fuck she wasn’t a romance option for FemShep or I might have been subjected to it. My impression of Tali's scene is that it's supposed to be slightly corny, as was the clip from the movie that they show us. I could see having something of a cornball taste in entertainment as consistent with Tali's character, and not in a bad way. (Though maybe it slightly undermines her as a credible LI for Shepard.)

Yeah I think I remember the option to call the space Twilight movie awful and "go get popcorn" or something with the bottom right option. Like it's supposed to be cringe and played for laughs.

Yes, like almost everything else in that DLC. It was earned Cheese.

An example might help, because I can’t recall anything in particular about him that’s particularly meta. At this point, I am going by memory of a playthrough I watched ... 7 years ago, because as I said, I never got Javik. And basically, it's the memory of that, as hazy it can be after all those years. Kinda like Irenicus. I would have been more helpful, if Bioware had made a better game, but I'm not touching ME3 ever again, at this point. Sorry. And I want to make it clear, it's just my impression of Javik, you don't have to subscribe to it, like many of the shit I say. I reserve the right to be wrong.

You might have enjoyed him actually. He basically shat all over Liara’s preconceived notions about what the protheans were like, and had zero fucks to give about it. I found it pretty entertaining. Personally, I thought he was the most interesting companion in the game, and it was a pity BioWare nixed having a deeper role in the plot, which is kind of aggravating considering what he is. He's the only squadmate that actually adds anything new to ME3. Rest are re-hashes (often ruinous ones) of characters we've already seen. James is technically new as well, but he's just a gender flipped Williams, and exists primarily to ask questions for new players Funny how Javik is DLC, yet canon waifu Liara is mandatory (should've made her DLC, the fanboys would have paid loads for her) despite making no sense as a combat squad mate given her full time Shadow Broker gig, as well as EDI getting ruined via conversion into a sex toy. Funny....you said "loads"
