There is a massive ring world in the trailer for the new game at 18 second mark. It literally surrounds an entire star and is also super thick. The old Citadel is basically nothing compared to it. What role could it play in the new game? Is that the new antagonist race? Is that the new citadel so to speak for citadel races centuries after the games end? Is it something that is once again found? This reminds me of "The planet will vomit corpses." Hell of a thread that one. sounds like a start to a horror game series. or a good creepypasta or a good horror movie

Does not look like a structure built by someone to me

Looks like the light from the star is reflecting off of the surface of water or something tbh. Not like a solid structure. I mean, look at the far side of it... it's not even solid...
I love this kind of speculation with teasers and trailers though. Too bad it usually ends up being the most obvious and mundane thing lol. You'll hear all these amazing and mind blowing theories from fans and then when it comes out... oh, it was just an asteroid field the whole time xD

In the trailer, we are initialling traveling into the galaxy from outside of it and we hear the earliest radio waves... because they've been traveling away from earth for the longest period of time. I believe the "ring world" shown represents the edge of the shockwave that was caused by the firing of the Crucible. This would make sense since Liara was aboard the SR2, which escaped the radius of the shockwave and crashed somewhere beyond it.
Our vehicle continues to travel towards earth, passing through the Citadel and the wreckage of the battle above earth. It makes sense that the radio signals move from the past to the present as we go since the one's nearest earth have had the least amount of time to travel in space.
Then, however, our shuttle obviously leaves the area around earth and the solar system and travels to some planet beyond it since we again are shown an image of open space that isn't littered with debris. I believe the place shown at the end is Alchera (where the SR1 crashed... and where Liara discovers yet another piece of Shepard's armor from the crash of the SR1.

I believe the place shown at the end is Alchera (where the SR1 crashed... and where Liara discovers yet another piece of Shepard's armor from the crash of the SR1. I don't think it's Alchera, which has a methane ammonia atmosphere that would necessitate the use of a helmet. There were no settlements on Alchera to attract a Reaper attack either. My personal guess is Hyetiana, but I can't explain the presence of an N7 helmet piece there. Also, my estimate could be way off because Bioware has a habit of relocating known nebulas to the random parts of the galaxy.

I believe the "ring world" shown represents the edge of the shockwave that was caused by the firing of the Crucible. Maybe. T'soni would only be on the SR2 if she wasn't killed by Harbinger, right? If the SR2 was able to escape the shockwave, then why did it crash? If ems is high enough, it flies off the unknown planet without any problem, and if ems is low enough, the SR2 is seen having it's thrusters being ripped from the fuselage.

If ems is high enough, it flies off the unknown planet without any problem, and if ems is low enough, the SR2 is seen having it's thrusters being ripped from the fuselage. We are shown the SR2 being eventually caught by the shockwave, but it would be thrust ahead of it, so I'm anticipating that whatever planet it landed on is outside of its radius. What makes me think the structure referenced in the thread's title is possible a marker for the "dissipation edge" of the shockwave are the lines in the gas and dust clouds (?) that radiate outward from the star at its center.
We don't really know for sure whether Liara is on whatever vessel we are on that is traveling from outside the galaxy through all those ancient radio signals, past Arcturus, and past earth. It's possible that we are the aliens from outside the galaxy who encounter Liara on the final planet we are shown.
It's a guess... that's all.
