So...thinking about my experiences with the original two KOTOR games, and finding out that I can rebuild my STAR WARS game library with such beloved titles as the Dark Forces/Jedi Knight series, and adding new titles like BF II....I have been seriously considering buying all of them digitally through the Origin Store, as well as making a purchase of SWTOR for 29.99 CAD. Is SWTOR a good game? Do you think I would enjoy it? Not so much into MP, strictly for the SP/Story content. They have the Digital Deluxe Edition for 29.99 CAD that includes all the expansions like Fallen Empire, Knights of the Eternal Throne etc.
Same with BF II...the Digital Deluxe Edition comes with all the DLC story expansions for, I think the same price. 29.99.

SWTOR is F2P until you get to KOTXX now, if you want to try it before buying. But the pack is a good deal, it's cheaper in CAD than the 2 months sub + cartel coins it comes with.
SWTOR is totally playable solo when it comes to the main story (which is like 90% of the game). The only annoying bits are some daily zones storyline early post-release that ended with group content, but they aren't tied to the main storyline of the game so totally skippable.
Gameplay wise, it's somewhere between KoTOR and Mass Effect.
BF II story campaign isn't very long, but I liked it. You can also play the "multiplayer" stuff solo as it has a mode where you can play against bots instead of humans.

Is SWTOR a good game? Do you think I would enjoy it? Not so much into MP, strictly for the SP/Story content. You're in luck then. SWTOR is an amazing story and game that is held back a bit by the combat system, which is a bit of a mess, and I guess the dated graphics. But if you're interested in the story content it's definitely worth a playthrough imo

It was 2003-04, and there were plenty of graphically better looking games out there even then...But once I got into the story and I took time to appreciate the art direction, it didn't bother me so much. However, with SWTOR...I felt the same thing again. Why after all this time...I mean, about a decade or more had passed since KOTOR and to make TOR look or even play like it in terms of graphics and gameplay....seemed to me, at the time, to be a colossal step backwards. But now I can appreciate everything, and I really just want to experience the story to SWTOR.

Saying that, SWTOR doesn't have quite the same art style as KOTOR and the graphics looks great in the newer content, the old stuff is 10 years old now... And the gameplay isn't quite like KoTOR, but it's not full action either. The thing it looks the most like is DA2 without pausing or switching character.

Steam and GOG have a Star Wars bundle sale every now and then, where you can get basically all the classic SW games for super cheap. Not sure if Origins has them as well (if you are committed to that platform) but with May the 4th (be with you) right around the corner, I'd wait until then and see if an SW sale pops up. I think chances are not too bad that there will be one (a.k.a. I have a good feeling about this ).

(Steam or Origin might have similar sales, I just got the newsletter from GOG and thought I'd give you headsup. Don't want to look like I am advertising. )
