The problem is that you never know when it'll happen again. It's in random intervals. It could happen, hours, days, weeks, or even months at a time. I think I have that kind of software. I'll have to check. If you don't, download MSI Afterburner. It's free and lots of people use it, so there are plenty of tutorials. I monitor my CPU and GPU temps at all times while gaming (Afterburner can insert them into the corner of the screen for you), and occasionally check them during non-gaming tasks as well. It can monitor all sorts of other settings, too. Also, move the RAM anyway. It can't hurt to have them installed correctly, even if something else is causing the problem. Okay so I placed the RAM in slot 4 (the other one was already in slot 2). The PC would turn on, but nothing appeared on screen. There was a red light next to the RAM slots. So, I placed it back in slot 1, and the PC activated like normal again.

That's bizarre. Are they both firmly seated in their slots? Is your system recognizing both? Yeah. And it didn't recognize both until placing it back in slot 1 So it recognizes all your RAM when they are placed in slots 1 and 2 (meaning it shows the correct amount of RAM, not just that the computer starts up), but it thinks you have no RAM when they are placed in slots 2 and 4?

So it recognizes all your RAM when they are placed in slots 1 and 2 (meaning it shows the correct amount of RAM, not just that the computer starts up), but it thinks you have no RAM when they are placed in slots 2 and 4? That is correct. If I place one in slot 4, the computer will start, but nothing appears on screen. I wonder if something is wrong with slot 4 on your motherboard. When I first built my computer, it was only recognizing half my RAM at first. So I went through this process of testing each stick in each slot, thinking one of the sticks or slots was faulty, only to find that all of them worked properly. So I put everything back, and the system suddenly recognized all the RAM. One of the sticks must not have been seated properly the first time, leading me to think something was broken when it wasn't. I don't know what else to suggest other than working your way through the guide in that link I posted earlier (or one like it) and monitoring your temps in general. You may want to start a properly-titled thread to get more eyes on the issue you're having if the guide doesn't help.

BIOS update, if not done, and fan software (no need to run it always). dragontartare says right about the placement of memory sticks.. Last bios update to this 2013 Asus motherboard gave me more leeway in audioproduction concerning CPU usage, so they really do fix things. I have PC and PS5 (and PS3) - I have 5 different gamepads from work here at home now but I still play using KB&M on PC, gamepad on work and PS5 games. Both have their places.

It's also worth noting that the thermal paste has been changed since the CPU's was first installed back in 2015. I didn't know the paste had to be replaced overtime.

I haven't checked, but I read somewhere about having to change the thermal paste later on to reduce overheating.

How are the temperatures? I haven't checked, but I read somewhere about having to change the thermal paste later on to reduce overheating. I mean, sure, thermal paste has to be replaced eventually, but how do you know whether or where there is overheating if you don't monitor your temps? Download and set up MSI Afterburner. It only takes a few minutes. Here's a basic tutorial: Maybe you'll find out something is overheating. Maybe you'll find out your temps are fine. But you can't know until you check.

There's also something else, though not as important, that's been happening for a while. I remember around more than a year ago, trying to update my usb drivers. As a result, my older keyboard couldn't work anymore. With my second keyboard, I have to unplug and plug it back in every time I turn on my PC, after turning on the PC's power supply (I always turn off the PSU after shutting down my PC).

*looks at his 24/7/365 running PC from 2013* -- well how are those thermal pastes yikes. In 2 years I'll need to replace this at last. Thats the deadline for this machine.

Have you tried deleting USB drivers in Device Manager? No and I don't think I want to for the risk of permanently disconnecting my usb devices like my mouse, keyboard and wifi adapter. This isn't a concern. When windows detects a USB device, it will automatically install/reinstall drivers for your devices. Your ram issue is bizarre. What BIOS version are you running on that board? Edit: docs.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-hardware/drivers/debugger/bug-check-0x124---whea-uncorrectable-errorThere are several codes you can try in this link, to further identify what exactly is causing your BSOD. This is not basic stuff, so follow instructions carefully. You likely won't cause any harm though. You need to know your therms, this could very easily just be an overheat issue. Use the softwares recommended to learn whether or not you have a cooling issue. After that, make sure you have the most recent non-beta BIOS for your motherboard and flash it. My gut on this is either CPU cooling isn't up to snuff, or there is an actual hardware issue in either the motherboard (your ram issue is weird) or the CPU itself. Building your own PC is much more involved than the Lego aspect of the construction - you have to be your own support desk.

Your problems are so strangely intermittent that one thing I want to suggest beyond the recommendations others have made for wiping out the USB drivers and doing some BIOS updates is to consider investigating the quality of your power supply, or perhaps adding in external power conditioning through a small UPS.
Unclean power can result in some really strange and intermittent behavior which might seem like a weird CPU or GPU problem. Worst case, you can always use it on your other electronics.

Name your PSU please, OP. It may be worthwhile to just replace it anyways honestly, depending on what you have and how old it is. I have had two PCs have their PSUs die, and one was harder to pinpoint because the machine still worked intermittently. This may well be the issue as well. Replacing the PSU immediately solved the issue, still using both PCs for repurposed tasks.

Okay, using afterbuner, GPU temp was in the mid to high 60s (degrees Celsius), and the CPU temp was low 70s (degrees Celsius) while play Star Wars Battlefront 2 (2017 game).

I haven't put on any headphones while gaming, though. Again, you never know when that problem will happen again, and I'm sick of starting a game and worrying about it over and over again.

CPU temp seems a little high for my liking, but may be within the thermal parameters. That game is fairly demanding in some respects so it is not a bad test vehicle. Do you happen to have a spare set of ram laying around? I want to know what happens when you populate all four of your sockets.

Also, my PSU is a Corsair cx750m. The only way to know if this problem is still happening is to reinstall a game like Final Fantasy XV. It's one of the more demanding games, and it often happened there. Another thing, disabling Turbo boost kind of limits my CPU's power.
The only other RAM I have is two DDR4 8gb sticks I'm saving for a new motherboard (which I'll be ordering in a couple of weeks along with a new CPU). My current motherboard is DDR3.
