I'm curious.
Vanilla ME:2 - first playthrough with an import from ME:1 - it was tight, but as long as the DLC was installed you could manage to buy most, if not all weapon and damage protection upgrades from stores.
Second playthough things were much easier due to having more starting credits from various bonuses and you could buy pretty much everything.
Now with the Legendary Edition, we're all effectively starting from scratch, plus some of the DLC items such as Kestrel Armor, Mattock etc. now have to be purchased from stores, rather than given free at the start of the campaign.
So, bearing all that in mind do you think we'll need to make some hefty sacrifices on upgrades, picking and choosing carefully, as it will be impossible to afford everything?

My ME1 character had max credit, that resulted starting ME2 with so much money that I think it's not even possible to spend it all in the game. Most of the DLC items are sub 2000 credits by the way. Probably harder if you do not import.

I'm anticipating that some sacrifices will have to be made if the player is starting a new character in ME2 (with no funds being transferred from ME1). I've done non-imported ME2 "first runs" and the credits are very tight and many purchases have to be deferred till late in the game. I ended that run with 30,000 credits and did not buy any armor or things like the death mask and off-hand ammo pack. I only bought the pre-jak paddle fish and no models. I don't think tapping myself right out would have bought me everything I left in the stores. Keep in mind also that, without an import from ME1 and with skipping the comic entirely, it is not possible to get a discount at every store since key NPC's (like Gianna) don't appear in the game then.
If ending ME1 as rich (9,999,999 credits), which is easily doable and a 10% transfer of funds into ME1, I don't see where credits will be a problem.

I think they gave me a million credits for staring ME2 with a rich Shep from ME1.

Ah, so you still carry credits overfrom ME:1 do you? I honestly wasn't sure.
I have maxed-out credits, so I guess it's going to be a case of spend, spend, spend.
I'd not actually have minded too much if they'd have made it so that you carry nothing over and money was tight. Sometimes forcing you into a situation of having to make tough choices can be game-enhancing. Either way I'm happy.
I wonder how they'll handle bonus powers? Guess I'll find out real soon.

Yeah, I had so many credits in ME1, I think I started ME2 with 700,000+ credits. Money is not a problem.

Yeah, I've started the game. I have so many credits I could probably smoke them for cigars. Surprised to find I have no power bonuses though. Pretty sure a first-game soldier used to start vanilla ME:2 with Inferno Grenades. Logically I'll likely get these in the LE when doing Masani's loyalty mission.
Also, I really miss my Incisor sniper rifle - boo hoo
I'll probably have to wait until Illium or something.

I'll probably have to wait until Illium or something. Don't think I ermembe rgetting any bonus powers until you do an yloyalty missions as it's the loyalty missions that unlock them. At least in the original that's how i tworks s oyou don' tget to use the bonus powers from the start until the game recognises you've beaten it at least once. As it's more a reward for beating the game itself. Fo rexample if you're playing an Adept and want Warp ammo on your gun you'll have t ocomplete Jack's loyalty mission first once she gives it to you in order to unlock it.

I had much more credits in ME2 and was able to buy all the armors relatively early. ME3 though, I'm a poor bastard the entire time because I buy all the armor and all the fishes.

Yeah, I had so many credits in ME1, I think I started ME2 with 700,000+ credits. Money is not a problem. I ended ME1 with less than 400,000 credits. That was done on purpose. Don't recall how much transferred to ME2. Since I bought little to nothing, except stuff using mineral resources, I wasn't worried. When I do completionist playthrough, I'm sure I'll have a lot of credits when starting ME2.

I had over a million, but that only buys you about 10 expensive upgrades. They're all at 75.000.

I finished ME1 with 9999999 credits. Started ME2 with 700,000+ credits, add all the credits you earn in ME2, and I was able to purchase every upgrade in every store with no problem.
