I can play games, do music and audio related tasks with ease, do 3D modeling, 2D painting and actually multitask. I used to be able to do this.. On Windows 7 Pro. Not so much on Win10.

I meant to answer this, but forgot. explorer is still somedays very very slow If by some days you mean all the time and always. In Win10 there is a noticeable lag from time to time Same Same for the task popup, eg. right click on taskbar task fex. Firefox. That menu is sometimes not even coming up until tens of seconds Yup Then lets not go to the thumbnail cache problems with large asset directories This! Dangit they've gone and buggered it up. I just wish they'd give PRO and Workstation versions better way to handle updates and the updater mechanism wouldnt be so aggressive as it still is in Win10, albeit less so than in the 2018 versions, and somehow would at last unify the menus, control panel and settings together. Hoping this to happen is purely in the fantasy department. It's like winning the national lottery without bying a ticket.

I meant to answer this, but forgot. explorer is still somedays very very slow If by some days you mean all the time and always. For me it changes from platform to platform. I have two win10's, the one is locked down older 1903 and it functions fine on it. Other is latest and the machine is like 10x faster but its this one I have problems with explorer speed and its thumbnail cache. Now I'm thinking it all comes down to the cache.. might be as usually during those phases the cache is unavailable too and icons are all white (so freaking aggravating when one is about to do some gfx stuff at work, well adobe bridge to the rescue ). The thing is, whole Win10 feels like the performance is not steady but its fast and suddenly its not so fast, then its fast for some time and again - reason is not clearly seen by the user - its feeling sluggish. What is this? Win7 did not perform like this and neither did 8.1 if I remember right. 8.1 was actually quite fast with start menu replaced. It feels like theres parts of Win10 fighting internally with itself, like some new parts and older *argh* Well maybe Win11 explorer... and WUpdate...

In my case it's the late adopter anguish: I upgraded everything about 18 months ago and was hoping to get a longer service life out of Win10. Yeah I only switched t o10 afte ronce I heard they were stopping support on 7

8.1 was actually quite fast with start menu replaced. I had three of these; I didn't like Win8, but it was alright after modding it. The thing is, whole Win10 feels like the performance is not steady It certainly isn't. My experiences match yours.

Yeah I didn't like Windows 10 a tfirs ta sit didn' twork wit ha lot of m ygames i5t's one of the main reasons why I stuck with Windows 7 as long as I did and only switched because I had little to no option. Windows 10 is better than it was when I first tried it but it's still far from perfect

I want to see the list of things they have taken away from 11 Home. Each iteration has moved more power-user stuff away from home and made it only available for Pro, and even Pro gets locked out of some things. So lame.
I bought Pro for my latest build, because I wanted Group Policy control again. It is still not as good as it was in Win2KPro, and not as fast.
This is the thing that baffles me... hardware advances, and software continues to regress in the most surprising, reprehensible and disappointing ways. It makes my life often a battle of frustration.
Progress :/

Might I add that the licenses for the Windows 11 Absolutely Totally Extra-Professional Completely Ultimate Edition (For Home Use on a single PC) is literally just that. A SINGLE PC. One-time license use. Absolutely NO re-installation of any kind, whatsoever. EVER. So if you bugger your PC and need to re-install Windows, don't think that you can re-use this same license number. Whahahahaha!
