I usually let the Inquisitor drink because I don't want Morrigan bound to Mythal, plus you get to fight one more dragon and is able to speak with elven spirits.
However, I wanna hear other peoples' opinions on the subject before deciding my current playthrough.
Which sucker do you give to Mythal and why?

I feel like the story is going to involve Morrigan being the new host to the remnant of mythall's soul regardless of who drank. So it may as well be her narratively so I'm not as annoyed when they pretty much ignore the Inquisitor drinking as a possibility anyhow.
Plus she says she wants to drink quite adamantly.
That all said, none of my Dalish have ever chosen not to drink it, because their history should remain with them. If Morrigan really cared about it all that much, she should have stuck around to help them make sense of it so fuck her.
PS, I love Morrigan.

To be fair I've done both in the past My last Inquisitor was a Dalish elf so she was the one who drank, the one before that was a Qunari who was very much 'nope' when it came to drinking from weird wells that may or may not be magical (and he was a mage so that said something). As far as narrative goes, I'll have to agree with phoray and say that Morrigan is likely going to be involved in something going forward that includes the 'soul remnants' of Mythal. Which probably means that she's the 'correct' choice for letting her drink from the well doesn't mean I won't sometimes let my Inquisitor drink though However, if it'd been a choice...I'd have deferred to Abelas' wishes and destroyed the Well of Sorrows. Which probably would've screwed with the narrative so eh *shrug*

Is it just the two? Morrigan it is then, because the inquisitor has enough to worry about and the witch bitch wants to handle it so she's going to handle it.

Morrigan. One because I don't think the Inquisitor will have much bearing on the world going forward. Two is because I theorize the Well may have the ability to somewhat temper the dark vengeance of the Mythal that lives in Flemeth. Seems better than letting Flemeythal's bitterness fester without complaint.
While we don't know the details of the 'water sprite' who came out of the well to destroy the eluvian, I am willing to bet it was an (unintentional) attempted "recreation" or "echo" of Mythal Prime as dictated by the beliefs/memories of her servants. If this Well!Mythal was constructed entirely on the likely idealized remembrances of devoted followers, then it may provide a caring counterbalance to the modern Flemeth!Mythal who seems to be primarily motivated by a sense of vengeance.
This is entirely conjecture though. We only had, what, just one scene with the 'well sprite' in question?

I've done both but it really depends on the quizzy. Most of my elves though do drink as most of them feel the opportunity about learning about their peoples past is to great to turn down

Just for a laugh, have Sera drink from it. I have chosen both, but my preference is Morrigan. My Inquisitor doesn't need any other crap to worry about especially having the power of the hand stuff.

Morrigan. Someone with as much power as the Inquisitor having their body vulnerable to being taken over strikes me as a spectacularly bad idea. In-character, Trevelyan wouldn't see it as any different from getting possessed by a demon, which he has trained his whole life to avoid.

In my case it depends on my Inquisitor.
My female Trevelyan mage, female Trevelyan warrior and female Vashoth warrior all refuse to drink from the Well. The idea of being bound to obedience to a being she knows precious little about is too much of a risk to take.
That being said my female mage Lavellan does drink from the Well despite the risk of being bound to one of the Elf goddesses. The core mission of the Dalish is to recover any lost lore or artifacts of the ancient Elves and drinking from the Well is a huge source of new knowledge. She would rather risk it herself than let this precious knowledge fall to a human she knows little about.

Inquisitor is mine. I don't trust Morrigan, and am tired of her writers pet status pushing her into roles she shouldn't have. IE An Orlesian Court Mage, despite having zero social skills prior to that.

My canon Inquisitor (Trevelyan mage) did in a fit of pique because he was sick and tired of Morrigan's "magier than thou" attitude and didn't want to give her the satisfaction.
Turned out to be a hugely useful plot element for my fanfic series, so no regrets whatsoever.

I don't want the Inquisitor being bound to Mythal. Plus, Morrigan wants it so bad before anyway, might as well let her have it.

Yup. That's me. Tresspasser can be a pain in the booty in places.
Lore wise, however, I think the game intended for Morrigan to drink it. I also don't want to see anymore of the Inquisitor in the future series so she doesn't need any of those complications.

Exactly. Although I think the inquisitor will make a small cameo in the next DA game.

I've done both, but I prefer to let Morrigan drink, since I'm worried that whoever signed their free will away is likely to come to a bad end. If someone has a bad ending, I'd rather it not be my Quizzy.
But seriously, when does a story that starts with that ever have a happy ending?

Logically it made sense to let Morrigan drink. Even though I didn't entirely trust her, I was pretty sure she did want to defeat Corypheus. Mind you, I thought it was pretty daft that Solas then asks me what I will do with the knowledge of the well. There should have been the option to shrug your shoulders and reply: "How should I know? Ask Morrigan; she is the one in control of it."
If I had the arcane knowledge perk, which I always do, I know about how the geas would work. Solas, whilst against Morrigan drinking, does not want to drink himself, which is pretty telling given how much he likes spirits. Cole advises against it: "You do not want all those voices in your head." Dorian also decline drinking and to my Dalish in a relationship with him says emphatically "I would not lose you to the Well". What if the spirits control you or fry your mind so you are no longer able to close rifts? Those seem pretty hefty arguments against drinking. You really need to be a pretty fanatical Dalish to ignore them.
When making the decision, I know nothing about the fact I will get a tame dragon, that I will be able to translate some old elvish script or that I will be able to talk to those elven spirits in Trespasser, so to drink for these reasons is only something I do in hindsight, for the experience.
I would like to see the decision impact further down the line but I'm not holding my breath on it. It may well be Trespasser will be the last place where the decision had any significance.
