I've wondered how people actually play games in Mass Effect? ME2 had that gaming store but are people playing some virtual reality games through their omnitools and some visors or what?
Romances that consist of more than 3 conversations then a cutscene.
Yes.
You expend significant energy, time and care getting to know your LI, charming them, bouncing around the galaxy proving your loyalty and even showering them with gifts.
Finally, we make the sex! Oh, the sex!
"Hello Shepard."
<blink>
...
The lack of post-coital relationship content is lazy. Do better please, I love my pixelized partner more than all the sex in the world.

I know a lot of this came down to hardware constraints but it always amuses me how bad video quality is in-universe. To an extent this is explained by the codex which discusses how difficult extranet access actually is.

I've never thought about this much but you're right, it is quite silly that after anyone has had sex with Shepard, they go silent and won't interact meaningfully anymore (about relationship themes). Is... is Shepard really that bad in bed? Or so good there is nothing left to say? Just banging every night is enough. Well, they did add the possibility of cuddling on the bed but it's kind of boring compared to conversations.

You made me laugh, thinking about Shep's sex skills (or lack thereof, apparently lmao)
Shepard walks around with an internal Ricky Martin singing "She bang" in his head constantly.
In particular, Liara hurt my feelings when I would find her on the Citadel, leaning over the handrail looking out on the Presidium.. I approached, thinking smooth words and ready to charm, and get the Heisman. Made me so mad I went Tali next run. Hell hath no fury like a Shepard scorned.
Those of us that recognize the vast expanse that is the Milky Way, realize that there is so much more out there that we haven't seen, haven't made contact with.
If done well, I would slog in a Mako all over new planets, meeting new bangs.
I realize this is very likely an unpopular opinion but I actually like those little mini games for hacking and that circuit board thing. Not because they were great minigames but because IMO they were immersive. They are easy enough so you can do them in a few seconds and you still kinda feel like you are doing something. I liked that better than just waiting for the omnitool to stop spinning in ME3.

Just my 2c.
Same for me.
My issue is actually two fold: I have played ME1&2 into the double digits and it is more annoying than being immersive after so many play-throughs. Also I have this uncanny issue of trying to read the writing of those mini games -there is a game breaker. It makes the mini-games more game breaking than a husk in the engine core taking a shower.

I dunnow but getting tired of a mini game after playing the main game over and over in the double digits seems like a bit of an edge case to me.

If it has romances in it (and since it is a ME game it most likely will) then have more human LI's in it for a change.
In every ME games human LIs were the majority of the options. ME1: 2/3 ME2: 4/6 ME3: 7/10 MEA: 5/10 This is just using the ones that grant the achievements.

Save that most of those are locked behind if you play as a male or a female.

But that applies to most LIs, alien or human.
I don't care about the alien LI's since I never done them. And compared to Male Shep, Fem Shep gets around 2 human LI's (not counting Jacob and Vega, as Vega is a one night stand and Jacob cheats on Fem Shep. Not sure of Kelly. And the reporter doesn't count as that too is a one night stand).
And MEA Male Ryder gets 2 full LI's and what's his face (not sure if that's a full LI since I never pursued that romance because I never did another playthrough with him as a romance. So I'm not sure where to stand with him).
While Fem Ryder what's her face from the cockpit, Liam, and like Male Ryder, what's his face.

Kelly doesn’t grant the achievement in ME2, but if you romance her in ME2 you are able to romance her in ME3 and that does grant the achievement.
Reyes counts to the achievement. All the LIs in MEA did, even the minor ones. Suvi is the lady in the cockpit.
To have multiple human options for each gender just isn’t feasible. That would be as many romances we normally get in total just as human, let alone all the alien options needed as well. They don’t have the resources for that.

Then the romances should be dumped altogether then. Being stuck with the Same LI's gets kinda boring after awhile.
And before you say it, no alien LI's for this human.

Then its not a Bioware game... Though probably not a bad idea till they improve their story telling back to its glory days. Then sure add back the nuance that I technically don't really care about.

Or just scrap it for good. It was never really needed in the first place.

Eh, I like romances in games. But the fandoms have gotten REAAAAALLY creepy about them. And Bioware has reduced them to "three conversations and a hookup" rather than actually flesh out a story and risk offending somoene.

Aye. But the creepy fandoms is something best left unsaid.
Also, ME1 was easily the worst offender with it's ninja romance locks.
